This is a basic introductory text and covers the topics well with extensive citation of researach and references. Some backgrond in ecology and entomology is helpful but not necessary. The authors introduce all topics from the basics. For topics they do not cover in depth, they give references. They do a good job of demostrating the need for good ecological study for pest management. Highly recommended for beginning students in ecology and entomology as well as those who want to know more or need a good reference resource.
