A historical gem, written in 1904. Enjoyed reading the majority of these short stories during my recent trip to Costa Rica.

Seeing as how they were written in the 19th or early 20th century and set in Costa Rica, these stories are surprisingly easy to understand and easy to relate to. None of them are thrillers or anything like that; just stories of everyday life in that time and place. This is as good a book as any if you want to read one set in Costa Rica.
