Rachel Woodlock, M.Islam.Std. (Melb), is an academic and writer specialising in Islam and Muslims in the West. She has worked at both the University of Melbourne and Monash University, as well as writing for The Age and the ABC Religion & Ethics website among others.

Her other recent contributions include the upcoming "Islam in Australia" section for Oxford Bibliographies Online, as well as a guest edited special edition of the State Library of Victoria's La Trobe Journal on the Muslim experience in Australia, and the section "Islamic Beliefs and Practices" written for the Encyclopedia of Religion in Australia.

When not buried under piles of books and manuscripts, Rachel can be found cooing at cows and sheep in rural Ireland where she recently moved with husband, daughter and family cat.
