When a young soldier home on leave rescued Sydney Bishop from attackers, he also stole her heart. But, when he returned to active duty without saying goodbye, she was shattered.
Now years later, fate--and a little matchmaking--has brought them together again.
As a way of overcoming his own wartime nightmares, Ryland built a ranching retreat in Montana. His goal? To give traumatized military families a place to heal. But the ranch desperately needs funding. Luckily, help comes through, in the form of Sydney’s mother, who’s kept tabs on her daughter’s first love over the years. Her foundation is more than willing to give him the cash he needs, but there’s a catch.
And if Sydney finds out, she might never think of Ryland as her hero again. . .
An author of passionate, emotional romances with heart, Pam loves crafting stories about independent women and men who discover the thrill and joy of falling in love. After years of moving as both an Army Brat and corporate wife, Pam and her craftsman husband settled in Atlanta, close to family and friends. When not writing, Pam enjoys quilting, planting beautiful flowers, home improvement projects and spending time with her wonderful family.
I'm so sad. I really wanted to love this. But even from the start I just couldn't get behind the characters. The way Ryland and Sydney talk about their past, you'd think she had this long fleshed out relationship that he just threw away. But no. It was 6 days. 6. Days.
The fact that they met by Ryland saving Sydney from men trying to assault her, and then in less than 6 days she give her "innocence" to me seems unrealistic to the max. And was then obliterated when he didn't say goodbye before leaving. I'm sorry, but after 6 days, it's not like he really owed her anything?
It's been at least 4 years since the 6 day encounter. That's enough time to get over it and move on. But they're both so hung up on it all as if it just happened yesterday.
After getting those tidbits of information, I just couldn't take these characters seriously. I grew up in a military household, with a father who has suffered from PTSD for the last 16 years. I get every person is different with how it affects them, but Ryland's self deprivation became overbearing after a while to the point of annoyance.
I had high hopes for this one, but it wasn't the book for me

SECOND CHANCE ON THE RANCH 4 1/2 ⭐ You will fall completely in love with the characters and the wonderful community they have come to call home. I really enjoy that characters from the other books make appearances but you can enjoy this story about Ryland and Sydney all on its own. This is sweet with steamy heat. Ryland has built up Evergreen Ranch to help veterans and their families while ignoring his own issues. Looking for funding, he gets a visit from a woman he once saved from an attack. The woman he fell in love with. The woman he left. Sydney works for her family foundation and goes to evaluate the ranch and what they do there. She is determined to protect her heart from her first love. Spending time together makes it harder to imagine parting ways. Maybe this time they can save each other...

When Ryland had come home on leave from the military, he ended up rescuing Sydney Bishop who was being attacked. He became her hero for his actions, and she developed a crush on him. So when he returned to active duty but did not say goodbye to Sydney when he left, she was deeply heart.
Now Ryland is out of the military and suffering from PTSD. He runs Evergreen Ranch to provide other returning military personnel, having difficulty adjusting, a place to heal. But he needs funding for his retreat. Sydney comes from a wealthy family and her mother’s foundation may be willing to provide the funding. Is this an opportunity for a second chance between Ryland and Sydney? Or are there other motivations at play that would drive them apart if discovered?
Ryland rescued Sydney while he was on leave from the military, but he soon returned and did not say goodbye. Now he is out, has PTSD, and is planning on opening a ranch retreat for vets and their families when they need to heal in peace. Her mother runs a foundation that can help support the ranch and its ideals, so she sends Sydney to check it out, reuniting them again. The characters have great backstories and depth of personalities, determination and strength. The storyline has its surprises and twists, as well as a few upheavals when the truth comes out and is misinterpreted. Loved the ending and the final truths that also come out. Well done.

Before Ryland went to fight in Afghanistan, he saved a young woman in Boston from two attackers. They had two glorious weeks together before he had to ship out. Now, Ryland runs a ranch to help military members and their families through PTSD. Sydney Bishop, the young woman he previously saved, is coming to his ranch ostensibly to figure out if his ranch would be given grant money from The Bishop Foundation to help with expansion and running expenses. This story includes a trail drive, romance, steam, and ends in a HEA. Very highly recommended.

Cowboy to Her Rescue by Pam Mantovani is a heartfelt, passionate and truly moving story that I’m sure many romance readers will find hard to put down. The storyline is deeply emotional, and the character portrayals are unpretentious and likeable. This is an easy-to-read story that I finished within a couple of hours due to the ebb and flow of the writing and the engaging and meaningful relationship between Sydney and Ryland. There is some drama and familial manipulation, but the intentions while misguided, are genuine and sincere. This is definitely a story that I happily recommend.
This book was very emotional. Ryland rescued Sydney while home on leave. They fell in love bit then when leave was up he left without telling her. Years later he is out of the military and now wanting to open a ranch to help military familes recover. Sydney is sent by her mother to check the facility out to see about funding it. Will they reconnect? Can she forgive him? This is a very emotional book. This was the first book I have read by this author, but will be going back to read more.

Years ago Ryland saved Sydney from two men while he was on leave from the military in Boston and now years later he is out of the military suffering PTSD and has opened Evergreen Ranch in Montana but now he needs money to expand the ranch. Her parents are very wealthy and her mother has offered him some money and sends Sydney to check out his ranch. They have feelings for each other but he thinks he is not good enough with his PTSD and she thinks because he never contacted her after the rescue that he does not have feelings for her.
I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. Ryland and Sydney have an emotional story. He was her hero years ago but they never got the chance because duty called. He has a new life now, trying to make a difference. Her mother offers her backing and that brings Sydney back into his life. His military career left him feeling battered, broken and unworthy. She might be his saving grace this time. This is a sweet second chance love story

Cowboy to Rescue: He had dreams to help other men and women with issues, whether they were in the military or other things that caused the problems. He couldn't afford to do all the things he wanted to do so he reach out to foundations that for good causes. Diana sent her Daughter to see and approve of what Ryland was doing and to help Sydney with her sleep issues. Ryland hasn't see Sydney in a long time and ahe was still very beautiful and smart. Wonderful story and dialog!
Second chance at love. Former military sniper, Ryland, with nightmares of what he has done and seen, runs Evergreen Ranch for military families trying to adjust. He rescued Sydney many years ago and she has had a crush on him. Now she's here at her mother's request to see about the funding for his ranch.. The book was ok but slow reading for me. HEA. I just reviewed Cowboy to Her Rescue by Pam Mantovani. #CowboytoHerRescue #NetGalley

Sometimes a book comes around at the wrong time and maybe this book did for me. I didn't connect with Sydney nor Ryland. I received a free copy of this ebook from the publisher through Netgalley. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. Even though I have often enjoyed second chance stories, I found myself skimming this one. This book was not for me.
This was my first book by Pam Mantovani and I really enjoyed it!!! Ryland saves Sydney from attackers and leaves for active duty without a single word. Sydney loses her heart to Ryland without him knowing. Years later will fate bring them together again? Read and find out!!! Enjoy!!!

This was a great book to curl up with, this is the first one I have read but I will be checking out the rest of this author's books. I was sucked right into this book and could not wait to see what happened next, I would definitely recommend it I did not want to stop reading.
Military Service can have a way of preying on a person’s mind and soul because of their duty. The things that they see and what there country needs them to do in order to protect not only our shores, but others who choose democracy over tyranny. Ryland is building a retreat in Montana for soldiers to help them heal from their time overseas. A place for them and their families to rekindle and restore the embers of relationships and relax. Sydney is a piec of Rylands past and neither have forgotten the other, but unfortunately this meeting can either spark an ember or go up in flames! Ryland is afraid if Sydney finds out the truth it will it flames and she will definitely walk.
This is a lighthearted quick read for the beach or in between washings!

I received Cowboy to Her Rescue as part of a NetGalley giveaway.
Years after he saved her life and ignited a passion she has yet to forget, Sydney Bishop travels to Montana to assess Ryland Evans' Evergreen Ranch, a retreat for military families, as a potential funding project for her family's foundation. Touched by the work he is doing following his own military service, Sydney finds herself falling for the gruff, quiet warrior all over again as they come together to improve the ranch. However, Ryland is damaged by his past and Sydney has work to do and a nagging worry that Ryland is holding something back.
This was a cute romance with a plot that rolled along nicely while still creating a nice build up to the love story. I appreciated Sydney's straightforwardness and that she took the lead in the relationship.I was intrigued by the side characters who (I presume) will become leads in future books, and the world the characters inhabited was well-crafted. I will say that the final "secret"/conflict seemed a bit overwrought and silly, but that's a minor quibble on what was otherwise a very satisfactory contemporary Western.
An enjoyable and emotional romance. Second chance at love. A variety of characters add to the tale. I did skip over the intimate details, but I was eager to get to their happily ever after. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley.
