Good anthropological, eloquent, first-person (oral history) accounts. Enjoyed hearing from these folks' in their own words. It was great to hear from a variety of women from different backgrounds, life experiences and life situations, in different jobs. These accounts spell out the persistent harassment, discrimination and unfair challenges they experienced but also relate important occasions of humanity, good leadership and (male) support. The skills they learned and the work they did was fascinating.
Odd to have read it so long afer I was one who was a bit out of place in the workplace. I wasn't the first woman COEI installer(with GTE) in the state, but about the first in my district. No surprise the 2nd-line supervisor & lead man didn't have a clue how to deal with it (me). Many good stories in this anthology...just not very well written.
