Americans need to know whether they are safe from violent crime. Many Americans believe the myth that they can simply "dial 911" and then just wait for the police to rescue them from danger. Dial 911 and Die explodes that myth with true stories from all over the country. It boils down to this: in most cases, the police do not have to protect ordinary private citizens from criminal attacks. The law and the courts shield the police departments and governments from liability. That means the citizens are left in the cold. When the thug breaks down your front door, is dialing 911 really your best defense? Americans and Canadians everywhere need to know, and Dial 911 and Die gives the answers. Don't become a victim to a false hope...read this book and get the facts.
This is one of the scariest things you wil ever read.
Richard W. Stevens takes cases from every state that set president showing that the police and 911 system are not responsible for an individual's safety. Many of these cases had tradgic results. It is an argument for being able to protect yourself in every situation because you can not depend on help getting to you in time when there is danger.
This is a great book really demonstrating the actual role of Law Enforcement in this country. They are not here to protect the citizens they are here to uphold laws. Sure there is some overspill and correlation between upholding laws and keeping citizens safe. But remember they have no legal obligation to do what is in your best interest. A common misconception in today’s society. The book is great at presenting factual events with simply but hard for some to accept mission statement. When the chips are down and someone is trying to hurt you or your family what will you do? Will you reach for a phone and pray help arrives or will you take responsibility for the security of you and your family?
As society breaks down further, don't expect 911 to come romping immediately, if at all. Have a preventative measure plan instead. Mine is hidden knives. May sound paranoial, yet in these rude times it's best to be ahead of a more frequently occurring game that made you not a victim, but now a player and raising your survival considerably.
