He has received the President’s Award from the Minnesota Correctional Association for his forensic work, and recently received an award for excellence in his clinical work. Frank Weber has used his unique understanding of how predator’s think, victim trauma, and actual court cases to create a thrilling mystery.
Raised in Pierz, Minnesota, Frank is one of ten children. Frank has been blessed to share his life with his wife, Brenda. His debut novel, Murder Book (North Star Press), will be available in May, 2017.
I really wanted to like this series and the last book had restored hope in me wanting to reading this book, well that and the fact that I got it as a gift. I ended up skimming if that, the last 80 pages. I was just so bored and wanted to read something else.
This book could have been so good! I would have given it a 2.5 if that rating was available. The overall basis of the story had plenty of good content. However, here are the things that ruined it and caused me to not want to pick up the book and read (I did finish it though). Books are a good way to just get lost and forget about the crap around us...this book however, was a constant reminder of too much crap that we have had experienced these last two years:
Covid...ugh, the constant statistics being updated in chapters.... And just all the covid stuff...
George Floyd.... This does not fit into this book but, the author just had to get his thoughts out there..
People claiming more money being on unemployment than actually working.... Annoying and didn't need to be part of the book. Again, why have "current events" written in the book?
All the white privilege, guilt, and race talk ..why??? Just tell a story that really has nothing to do with race!
Greek mythology. If you're that into it, then write a story where one character is into it.....it's a bit cringy reading about various people in various books from the author and they just all are so knowledgeable about Greek mythology?? *Insert eye rolls*
Like I said...could have been a good book for not all the "extra" stuff that was all too wordy and just not needed. I do feel bad critiquing someone's work but, it really just got annoying with all the woke stuff in a story that didn't fit.

Burning Bridges is another well written and suspenseful book. Our favorite BCA officer is now a private investigator and just as good at solving crimes as ever. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, he manages to interview people whether in person or on face time. His lovely wife is his partner in everything. She also interviews people and works to help solve the case. The book is written so well that it keeps you changing your mind as to who is the criminal that shot Billy. I suggest this book to anyone who loves reading a mystery.
This is the third Frank Weber book I've read. This one took me a bit longer to get through. Again, pretty remarkable story of serial murders and sex trafficking in our own beautiful state of Minnesota. The majority of the story takes place in the St. Cloud area. I did like the characters for the most part and the references to Greek mythology. Frank fictionalizes these real crimes so it's hard to imagine what parts of this story are real versus what is fiction? It was pretty crazy! But as in all good Frank Weber stories, it gets resolved satisfactorily.
Another great book! I always enjoy the stories from Frank Weber... this book does not disappoint. However, I have to mention the spelling errors... there were alot.
Harper Rowe is a young college student who hires a detective to search for her biological father (Billy Blaze). There were enough twists and turns in the story to keep me interested. Great story!
This is my first experience with Frank Weber’s work, and I really loved this book! I loved all of the intertwining characters and I appreciated the “List of Characters” at the front. This story kept me guessing until the end and I liked how he added real world events consistent with the times, including COVID and George Floyd. This was very well written, despite an occasional typo.
