I wanted to give this book one 🌟star🌟, but i think it deserves two⭐ for the ending.
The beginning was pretty awful - a rich boy goes to Myanmar on his holiday, is gifted a flower and falls in love with the girl who gave him that symbol of love -.
The main character, Max, is really annoying. I've been getting angry during this book too many times. He gets a boner just looking at that girl and he's making love to Dolly(the flower girl) 3 times in a few days, without even knowing her. I mean, come on, I can't stand him, and I don't think you will.
The only thing i liked about this 💫work of art💫 is that it teaches us some things about the corruption in Myanmar.
I don't recommend it, you can find that information on internet, you don't have to lose your time as I did and read 200 pages about this wonderful(i lied) boy.
But maybe you'll like it. How should I know?

J'ai pas compris.
Je suis passée à côté.
Le livre est plutôt court (moins de 300 pages) et on arrive quand même à : s'ennuyer, perdre l'intrigue de vue, ne pas comprendre.
Le début est très lent, comme pour nous faire prendre la mesure du quotidien birman, ce qui est dépaysant et agréable mais vers le dernier tiers, tout s'intensifie et vite, trop vite, on perd de vue le fil, l'intrigue, qu'on attendait depuis le début (car la 4e de couverture en dit trop).
Vraiment déçue.

Really wanted to give it a better review but it wasn't good at all. If you want a fast read to complete your chalenge than read it, but don't except to like it....

the subject is interesting, however the main character is just too annoying and everything i hate in a man, so theres that.

J'ai beaucoup aimé.
Des fils et filles de riches industriels, une histoire d'amour passionné, un passage à l'age adulte précipité par la politique. Un très bon roman qui montre l'envers du décors.
Une très bonne lecture pour changer son regard sur le monde.
