Everyone has secrets, some harmless, some indulgent. Sydney Rain is one of those people you'd definitely consider spoiled, bratty, and immature. She has little to ask for in life, with two loving and caring parents, one a prestigious doctor and the other a devoted wife and stay-at-home mom. Money? Her dad gave it freely. Love, advice, and support, her mother offered it in droves. Friends? Easy to come by. Popularity and smarts, it was all there. So when Sydney goes gaga over the rude and demeaning Dustin Homes, no one, especially her best friend Jayla, has the slightest clue as to why.
They wouldn't know that he and his best friend Rafael Deluca are the two most sought-after Doms at playhouse Pleasure Palace or that she, the very self-centered Sydney is one of the "pets" seeking to be owned by them. On hands and knees with a collar around her neck, she wants to crawl for then, and when she's naughty, she will happily welcome any punishment they gave. Sydney wants it all, and she gets it, but when insecurity, jealousy, and secrets surface. Sydney has to grapple with her self-discovery and maturity as she questions if she can take the heat that comes with being owned by the two hottest Doms around.
Dnf I really tried to read this but this quote was just it like it was my last straw “I AM A STRONG INDEPENDENT BLACK WOMAN WHO, EVEN IF NOT AT THIS MOMENT, WILL BE ABLE TO TAKE CARE OF HER DAMN SELF. I DON’T CARE HOW YOU WERE RAISED. I DON’T NEED YOU, A MAN, TO TELL ME SHIT ABOUT MYSELF. I HAVE A DADDY, AND HE DOES A GOOD JOB AT RAISING ME!” I yell, feeling hot and ready to fight. I expect him to come back with another shitty rebuttal, but he looks at me sadly. “I probably have no business saying this as a privileged white male, but I’ve always wanted to know this… why do black women always have to add certain words to their self description as if it can’t be implied? Words such as strong, independent, or sometimes even educated? Other races don’t list out their qualifications when they say their race. Also, what’s good about being independent? What’s wrong with having a partner, whatever gender they are, to help?” My mouth drops open, and my hands fall loosely to my side as I’ve lost all the fight in me. I want to be angry at how his guy cut my people down to the quick, but shit… he’s right. I[…]”
Yes it was all in caps, yes she normally talks like this. It is so annoying and she is just so spoiled and bratty god. One of the daddies also just says weird as shit stuff abt how she doesn’t rlly matter etc etc and no. Refusing to force myself to read bad books this month
I didn't like this one for so many reasons and I'm not petty enough to check on the number of times the word "daddy" was used but it was way too much. The main character Sydney refers to her Doms as Daddy Rafe and Daddy Dustin throughout the whole book. I've always found it cringe worthy when it's used in romantic relationships so that alone was bound to make me grind my teeth. Sydney's fan girl reaction to Dustin and Rafe was over the top, the family drama was crazy, the hints of paranormal were misplaced and I couldn't appreciate how from one paragraph to another, people went from hating to liking one another or how often characters had heart to hearts that suddenly changed minds. It was unrealistic. And sorry, the whole thing where Dustin and Rafe have some sexual relationship with Sydney's mom is just gross, made worse by the whole, we were in another country and underage in the US but legal there, just no. This one references other characters from different books that the author has written as well and is inconsistent in places in relation to those books as well as in this one.
So I liked this book, been waiting to read it fully to see what others talked about. I will say the sex within this story never disappoints me.
I will say I kind of don’t like Sydney, she is a spoiled brat who was shielded and never made to grow up. She chased both daddies Dustin & Rafe but had insecurities “WHY” she was woman enough to go for it why not communicate and believe your Doms…
Daddies/Doms I want both of them for sure lol…what they weren’t through as kids was something but their friendship has help each other stand strong thru anything and that’s nice to have.
Their fathers and X…”fans myself” cause I was like WHATTTTT!!! 🤣🤣🤣
To see others from the Irish Dons book and too see the connection with Kahlani I was like OMG…
If you are easily triggered this isn’t the book for you…but if you want to read a book that’s a page turner that will have you looking for your next Dom this is it.
Thank you to Unique Words, LLC for bringing this book to my attention. As someone who enjoys a good BDSM Video and book I can officially add this one to my LIKE list. The books normally that I have read of the BDSM nature are of dark, intense, extreme, but this one has a humours undertone to it but didn't take away from the world of BDSM. You had Sydney who drew and interest to the club and the lifestyle, and once she realized what it was all about she knew what she wanted and was determined to get it. She wanted daddy rafe and Daddy dustin who were two best friend and more like brothers, and each one wanted her but in the end it was about making her happy and it became a package deal. Sydney head to learn about herself, her family , and so much more and in the end the book ended the way it was supposed to. it is definitely a book that when you don't have anything else to read this one is a good choice to re-read
I kept feeling like I was too young to be reading this book (I'm over 30yrs old, lol). I've seen some of the reviews about Sydney and I'm going to have to disagree. I enjoyed her and reading how she becomes more self-aware. I also enjoy how all her female leads have various backgrounds (poor, rich, educated, uneducated, self-absorbed, and/or selfless and etc.)and can still have a partner that is completely obsessed with them. I love how the author adds in characters from other books and gives you small glimpses of their interactions. The editing is getting better and I'm enjoying how this author continues to grow through her work.
I did like the book but it became long-winded and there were soooooo many descriptive BDSM scenes. I mean, there are A LOT. It became tiresome and redundant to me. It's really a reverse harem BDSM novel. Then that supernatural twist out of nowhere? A bit odd. With that said, I did appreciate the detail the author allows the characters to get into about establishing a new BDSM contract and relationship. They even addressed the aspect of a Black woman being a sub and having two white Doms that share her. It was an okay read, but yeah, there is A LOT of sex and BDSM in this book so , be prepared.
She did it again! There is not a single Rose Marie book that I have read that I haven’t enjoyed. This book was so thorough in its explanation and view into the world of BDSM. Sydney got on my last nerve at times, but I appreciated how she grew and matured over time. I wasn’t completely caught off guard by the Poppy reveal but some of the other stuff threw me. There were a few grammatical errors but nothing overly egregious. I’m slowly realizing the characters in the Rose Marie-averse and can’t wait to read more. Rose Marie is definitely one of my favorite authors. Definitely check this out!
Sydney is obsessed with Daddy Dustin and Daddy Rafe and will do anything to be their pet. She gets her wish but isn’t prepared for what being a pet really means and has to battle her own insecurities to find happiness with her two Daddies/Doms. I really enjoyed the the book and the growth of each character. The plot twist blew me away but I liked it and RoseMarie is known to throw some type if crazy in the mix. I highly recommend the book and if you can keep an open mind..I know you love this story too.
We was warn in on her ig that three was going to be two daddy son in this book and let me tell you that I was not ready one bit. I got to say it was good good. Like I don’t like when characters have to share but, they just do it way better and let me by saying this that Rose Marie finally did her thank and made this book another one of her babies. Yasss way to show us what you still got. Plus I’m looking forward to reading her next book
Interesting plot. Quite salacious. Didn’t know I was into reading these types of books, but considering it took me 2 days to read it, I guess I am now. A few grammar issues that caused me to re-read a few times but nothing that negatively impacts overall comprehension. I really enjoy the overlapping with other books. But, I feel like there’s more to come here; this particular story isn’t really at an end.
I’ve have a new understanding for BDSM. Ive read romance books about the lifestyle, but those stories sort of glossed over it.
With this story I was able to understand just what a submissive Lifestyle could be like with the proper Dom/handlers. There’s so much detail in the story. I appreciated that it not only had the sexual aspect of it, but the psychological as well.
Good gravy. The heat. No, the furnace. I can’t even. Scalding hot read. lol 😆 I loved it! I will say there are some things that come out that may make some readers uncomfortable. I was shook, but I kept reading and I’m glad I did. I really enjoy watching the characters grow and mature in both their love and as individuals. Definitely one of the strongest stories I’ve read on this subject matter. Another A+, Rose. 😁
So…parts of the book are hard to swallow. You have to try really hard and be willing to open your mind and accept their version of reality to get through to the end. Barring that and the lack of proofreading, it was a good story. However, if the author could stop mentioning herself and her other books that would be helpful. I felt that was totally unnecessary and took away from the book as a whole. All in all 3/5!
Ms. Marie doesn't disappoint. This book was long with TONS of Easter Eggs and a taste of numerous upcoming delicious stories. I can't share the lewd and lascivious thoughts that this book incites, BUT, This book is on fire. Mmmm mmm mmmm mmmm mmm I can't wait for Ms. Marie to release her books. Please "Daddy" I want some more!
I read this book before she rewrote it. I actually like this version better. I love her work she gets better and better in each book. Dustin and Rafe are even more mature than the first time along with Sydney. I applaud the Author I love the chemistry with these characters she has put together. I wish I could find a Dustin or Rafe or even both.🔥🔥❤❤❤
The only problem would be the punctuation, but other then that, I loved it full heartedly. Also I think we could’ve seen a little bit of Syd’s growth via the family, couples, and solo therapy sessions just to see how she differed from her runaway ways. All in all, I loved it on Wattpad and I love it here
Not a fan of this book due to the gross immaturity of the main character and lack luster character development of the two love interest I enjoyed the details she put into the explaining the BDSM world but the charters were very undeveloped I wish she would’ve taken it a step further maybe had the main character evolve I just needed more
This was my first time reading anything by Rose Marie and I really enjoyed the story. Given the subject material you can tell she did her research. The only downside were the typos and grammatical errors throughout. Overall, I thought is was a well told story about an unconventional type of love.
This book was filled with great characters and sizzling love scenes. I love how other characters from different books make an appearance like my top two Alphas Connor and Domi. This author is amazingly creative and has a gift to get the reader engrossed in the story.
Very good read, I loved it from beginning to end. She had a very deep and emotional storyline in the book... the daddies were great and lovable characters. I liked their differences, especially Dustin's dominant side. Rafe was the sweet and sensible one. The parents were the twists to this crazy ride.
When I first started to read this I was expecting your run of the mill BDSM erotica but boyyyyy was I wrong!! Rose out did herself and I am HOOKED! This book isn’t for the faint of heart though so be cautious and know it’s mind bend you when you read it.
This story had twist and turns, and I loved them all. Rose Marie kept my interest going and loved how she tied in characters from His Black Beauty 2 and The Vampire King and I. That Sydney had Rafe and Dustin doing back flips for her. She did not get how blessed she was, but she woke up and got right before she lost it all.
What a book filled with soo much mystery and intrigue...if what was relayed in this book was factual or not it was very detailed about bdsm...not to mention the weaving of characters from other series not to mention some new characters I think need to be explored more...can't wait to see where this leads to and the end result...
Rose Marie never disappoints. The dynamic between the main characters was extremely complex. She touched on the different points of view of the main throuple. Diving into the world of BDSM was an eye opener. Looking forward to the book.
I love Rose Marie writing I get explore different worlds. I can’t wait for the Vampire King and I to come out setting us up good. The daddies are straight up doms it’s the after care for me
I knew that this would be worth the wait..😍😍😍😍😍.Rose I have told u many time that you r the best at what you do and the story proves it. Thanks for taking on a journey that my free spirit love to explore. Love you ❤
This is vintage Rose Marie😍IR BDSM romance with more twists & turns than a loop- di-loop roller coaster! Spice & 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 levels are schorhingly hot, so have your Kindle in a cool place when you read , so this 📕 does not go up in flames😂Enjoy🍷💃
Great read from start to finish, I was ENGAGED! I love how all of Rose’s characters are somehow intertwined. It always feels like a “got’cha” every time I link a character to a previous book of hers I read.
This is my second book by this author and I can officially say if she writes it I'm going to read it. This book definitely isn't for everyone but I was highly entertained. The plot was plotin and the spice was most definitely spicin. Daddy D and Daddy Raf played no games and I'm here for it.
I was not ready for this! What’s with the sharing? Cliffhanger what are Noah & Maverick? What are Rafe & Dustin? Sydney was all over the place! I see how the stories are related 🤩🤩
