Cell Division and Genetics explains what happens when cells divide. Cell division is the way in which organisms grow. Even when an organism is fully grown, some cells continue to divide to replace those that have become old or damaged. This book explores the complex relationship among chromosomes, genes, and DNA. It then examines the special form of cell division involved in reproduction, and how characteristics are passed on from one generation to another - so that a pig gives birth to piglets and not kittens! Each book features: charts and diagrams of important information, further reading and websites, extensive glossary and index.
Cell Division and Genetics is about how cells in all living things grow. It also has some of the facts about how cells split and the different phases like meta-phase and photo-phase. Plant and animal cells are different in many ways. When animal cells split they break apart, when plant cells split a new wall is formed. I liked this book because it had facts and because it was a science book.
