While out for dinner one night, Hannah's callous husband drops a bombshell.
Hannah is left shattered and humiliated in a restaurant bathroom in the middle of Sydney. The only thing that helps her through the horrific night is the kindness of one handsome bartender.
With no job, home, or husband, Hannah must now figure out who she is and how she will move forward. With the help of old and new friends, will she be able to heal and rediscover her identity to find love again?
Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Oh my god, the romantic jazzed up feels and intense emotions I got from this entire novel! Hannah was my ultimate bookgirlfriend, our relationship is going to be strong let me tell you.
The romance, the writing, the characters specially Hannah was my girl from the moment I read her, the way she just shone on the page.
The way she dealt with her husband and the bombshell he threw at her...sorry no spoilers. It was totally brave and I saluted her all the way for the way she handled things.
And that handsome bartender..who's also a spoiler...could I have a shot at him too? I need my love life shaken up too heh.
AND SYDNEY! I went there, ya know, Darling harbor, the new year fireworks, total blast. It was awesome to go back to an old memory.
Overall - Gah I loved this novel and yes Iloved it so much I could not find any faults in this one. Heh, it might just become another favorite of mine.
This book is a standalone short story. Hannah is dumped and abandoned by her husband at a local restaurant and it completely devastates her. He's moulded her into a subservient shell of her former self. A friendly barman see's her pain and steps in as a friendly face, ensuring she gets to her friends OK. Hannah has a ton of stuff to deal with, years of conditioning that she needs to work with and I liked that it wasn't all wrapped up and dealt with in the space of a week or two. Her friend supports her and encourages her new found independence and confidence. Hannah did have a tendency to see each male she met as a replacement husband, but I'm glad she didn't just jump into another relationship. She needed to learn about herself again before she could trust her own judgement. I enjoyed the story and the characters, although I found a some of the dialogue to be quite formal.
Beautiful romance Novella. This is a beautiful, sweet romantic novella, I loved it. Hannah is dumped by her husband in a public place and left to pick up the pieces. Her old and new friends help her move forward and figure out who she is. Will she find love again? Never give up attitude of Hannah is inspirational, each time she gets knocked down or thinks she can’t go on, her friends help her see the way. She pursues her dreams and is true to herself. Hannah learns, with the help of her friends, to believe in herself. She takes the time she needs to accomplish the things important to her and let herself heal after her husband dropped a bombshell on her at a restaurant. Hannah becomes a strong, independent woman, it was lovely to watch her grow into an amazing woman and find her identity again. Baniti is a caring and supportive bartender Hannah meets on one of the worse nights of her life, he shows her how a real man treats people and becomes an important person in her life. Amy is her oldest friend, she takes Hannah in and helps her find her feet. Amy is kind, supportive, patient and pushes Hannah when she needs it. Hannah’s soon to be ex-husband, Luke, is a callous, selfish, and uncaring man he pops up at different times through the book and shows what a piece of work he is. Hannah learns to deal with him and his nasty ways, she becomes a stronger person because of it. I really loved this book. Every time I thought I knew where this story was going Taya threw me in another direction, keeps you guessing. I can’t wait to read more of her work, she has made a fan out of me. I received this book for an honest review.
Hannah's husband has just dumped her and now she has to start her life over. With no skills other than being a housewife, she must learn what she wants to do, and move on with her life. She meets Baniti at his family's bar and soon they are friends. She is invited to his home where she meets Baniti's cousin Masuda. Before she knows it her life is moving forward again, and she may have a chance at love.
This was a sweet romance that really focused on starting over. No matter where you are in life, you can start over and be better. Hannah showed her strength in moving on with her life after her ex husband Luke nearly ruined it.
This is a very clean romance (zero spice and only a couple kisses), but it was such a sweet read. I wished it was a little longer so that we could see Hannah and Masuda together more, since there wasn't much of it.
Hannah is struggling to find her life when her husband suddenly tells her he wants a divorce — in the middle of a restaurant no less. As she leans on her best friend, Amy, and puts her life back together, she finds a few new friends. One of these may lead to more than just a casual friendship.
This novella was a fast, easy read. It’s sweet and has great character development. Hannah goes from crushed to learning how to be her own woman after years of abuse.
Thank you Tara Rune for giving me an ARC to review!
Well. Luke is just a complete a**ehole isn't he! I mean seriously, poor Hannah!
Now that's out of the way, this was a really good novella about how much of an impact Luke had on Hannah's life, and the power he held over her even after breaking up with her.
I'm so pleased she met someone who made her feel worthwhile again and wanted to show her how she should have been treated all along.
A sweet, fast-paced, short read. A life lesson or 2 to be learned along the way if you pay attention too ❤
Hannah was a nice little read & the first book I’ve read of Taya’s novella series. I enjoyed all the things that you thought were going to happen, but didn’t! Love the Australian setting with the cultural entwinement too. Looking forward to reading the others in the series :)
This is the first book I’ve ever read written by Taya Rune. Hannah was a nice, quick read that I found easy to read. I thought it would have been longer and I kept expecting more to happen that didn’t! Didn't expect the Australian setting with the cultural entwinement. Quite enjoyable.
I loved this short little story. I am giving it 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟/5
But here's why...
This story talked about the trauma that an abusive relationship an have on a person and showed a great love story as well. I plan to finish all the ones I've missed so far as this is a series..
Hannah by Taya Rune is a super sweet, clean romance about surviving bad relationships and having the faith and strength to trust again, love again and essentially start over. Hannah’s strength and resilience was utterly captivating and I loved the connection between her and Masuda.
I was given Hannah as an ARC in exchange for honest feedback. This is the first of many books by Taya Rune.
From the moment I started, I could not stop reading or thinking about the book when I wasn't reading it. It will be hard to write a short, condensed review.
Hannah was broken, shattered after her husband broke off their marriage in public, a busy restaurant. After years of trying to live up to his expectations, she quit her job to be the wife he wanted her to be, dress to his expectations, behaved a certain way. She was emotionally abused and treated like a doormat. Had no self esteem.
Her husband wanted a trophy wife, one that would be suitable to his expectations, in his mind dress more fashionable, prestigious, he was worried about appearances and what his colleagues would think him if they saw her, in his words "dressed like was going to a picnic", after she had spent hours making herself desirable, hair and makeup perfect, flawless. He was an hour late to dinner, and said some harsh things, as always.
She had escaped to the bathroom, where she broke. Emotionally and physically. Once she emerged from the bathroom it was empty, he left her, in the middle of the city, alone.
She meets a kind man a friendship blossoms.
Okay.... now I get my say... I had messaged Taya a few times telling her I really loved her book. I could relate alot to Hannah. Broken emotionally with inner scars, like Hannah but also rising from the ashes. I cannot wait to read the other books in the series and many more to come. You will not regret taking a chance on this book.
