Gunnery Silver's lifelong mission is to protect the lands where wild horses run free. But when a wounded soldier sets his sights on her, will she allow herself to be corralled into setting down roots with him forever.
Gunny Silver returns home just in time to meet her father's dying demand and marry a stranger in order to keep her childhood home. But this animal rights activist is none too pleased to find that the soldier her sisters have picked out for her is a gun-toting, animal hunting, sniper.
All Truman Bates wants is his job back. Unfortunately, with his shoulder injury, he no longer makes the cut as a precision sniper. To remain useful to his former unit, he agrees to marry the last Silver sister. It's clear the mouthy protestor will keep him on his toes with bailing her out of the trouble she can’t stop getting into.
As these two clash on their way down the aisle, they begin to realize they have more in common than they thought. But the road to “I do” is strewn with landmines. With the deadline looming and the future of the ranch on the line, completing their vows will be a battle like no other.
Find out if love can truly heal all wounds in this light-hearted, sweet romance of convenient arrangements that unfold into lasting love. His Pledge to Hold is the sixth and final book in a series of marriage of convenience tales featuring Wounded Warriors who are healed with the power of love.
Shanae Johnson was raised by Saturday Morning cartoons and Afterschool Specials. She still doesn’t understand why there isn’t a life lesson that ties the issues of the day together just before bedtime. While she’s still waiting for the meaning of it all, she writes stories to try and figure it all out.
And by the way, the E elongates the A. So it’s pronounced Shan-aaaaaaaa. Perfect for a hero to call out across the moors, or up to a balcony. If you hear him calling her name, please send him her way!
My review today is on the romance, A Pledge to Hold. This is book six in the series A Silver Star Ranch Romance. I'm one of Shanae's biggest fans. So I was excited to get this last book in the series but torn because I hated to see the series end. I tried to read it slowly but really didn't manage it. The story is well-written, humorous, and altogether delightful.
How do you bring a woman whose sole purpose in life is to save every living thing in the world to marry a military sniper whose sole purpose is to kill the enemy together? But they are the only two left that can save the ranch. Wicked Cruella is determined to keep the girls from keeping the ranch and is going to turn it into condos.
An eventful journey to save the ranch. As the other five sisters and their husbands try to help them when all seems lost. God has a plan for these two, a plan for hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a plan for peace and not for destruction. Give Him your heart and watch Him work in your life, even in this time of chaos.
Truman Bates, former military sniper, one of General Silver's President's Men, does not want to marry. Gunnery Silver is the last of the six Silver sisters who need to marry to keep their ranch. She's a free spirit and renown animal conservationist, and not interested in marriage. Clearly, this is an enemies to lovers trope. It is well told and the main heroes bring honesty, character and devotion to the story. This is the final book of the Silver Star Ranch series. All the books have revolved around the six sisters and six former military soldiers, each with their own book. This final installment brings the least likely couple together in a winning style. It also completes the journey of the Silver Star Ranch in a lovely, redeeming way. Great series to binge.
This last book was different from the others in the series. The final Silver sister is something like the first one in spirit, but the way she moves forward is different. I had a harder time relating to the hero and heroine, but I enjoyed getting to know them. Their story was fun to read, too. If you enjoy clean, contemporary romance, military heroes, and strong but feminine characters, then I recommend this book to you.
I loved this series of lost souls who found each other with the push of their friend and father, through his will. He knew something about all 12 of them and who was meant for whom. But boy oh boy the path to get there and all of the thinking and over- thinking was really so much fun to read!
Thoroughly enjoyed the whole series, I read them one after another to get the whole story as one. I loved the way the all characters would mix in with the main characters of each book. I am also looking forward to the series of books about The Flying Cross Ranch.
I have enjoyed reading this whole series. The characters were special and delightful. Every one was as good as the first. Looking forward to the Matthews*s brothers series. This was entertaining , interesting and fun.
This is a short clean story I enjoyed reading about family and love of family.this story started on with not liking the sniper in her dad's unit it they ended up married
I loved how strong and independent the women were in this book but also realized the need for a protector and soul mate. Each couple complimented each other perfectly. Thank you a great read.
Gunny is the last sister to get married. She is a gun hating, animal rights loving woman and her marriage choice is the sharpshooter of the men Truman. Can they make it work? Will they do it? This series is so much fun.
Gunny gets married, almost, and they lost the ranch to their stepmother. But a grand baby on the way changes the mind of the stepmother. Now the ranch is deeded to all the silver women.
The general knew what he was doing with some divine intervention each daughter found their perfect match. A little drama had to be included to make for a better story.
Shorter books toward the end of the series. This one opens the door to another series. Writing is a bit harried and some of the story is too fictional.
The General knew his daughters and his men better than they thought. Gunnery and Truman. Opposites but united. Even Catherine was surprising. Really enjoyed this series
There was so much adventure and romance in these books. I had a hard time putting one down to eat or go to sleep. Great writing and hero’s are made. Love the soldiers.
