The author faces archetypal, cosmic lords within herself. These inner lords are a reflection of humankind's age-old struggle with "the gods who came down to Earth," who intervened with human reality and limited our freedom.
Barbara Hand Clow is an astrological counselor, an editor of books on New Consciousness, and a ceremonial teacher at sacred sites. She lives in rural new England.
Author Barbara Hand Clow wrote in the Preface of this 1989 book, “This trilogy is an exploration of the contents of the archetypal memory bank as it has expressed itself within the time context of history. In each book I became a time traveler who goes into the past to retrieve the lost records of ancient civilizations… I image the human race as a great memory circuit which is the same as the cosmic memory bank… I believe that all of us contain the total memory of all time within our very cells. This trilogy is being created to access our shared story… The source of my material was twenty sessions under hypnosis targeted at accessing the contents of my own archetypal memory bank. These sessions utilized a method called ‘past lives.’ … This ‘past life’ method involves using the material obtained under hypnosis obtained under hypnosis as an oracle for the planet, as a way to retell the stories of the ancient days. I assume that the material I am accessing is of critical need for the present time…” (Pg. xix-xx)
She continues, “The only knowledge I had of this book when I began it was that it would be a journey though the underworld to ring light into every shadow that has ever been a part of my experience… When we first access past-life material, we need to trust it and not judge it, for it is the psyche doing storytelling. In this book, you will encounter very clear and emotionally heightened experiences of Paleolithic times.” (Pg. xx-xxii) She continues, “My work differs from channeling because I do not vacate myself as I probe the memory bank. I trust that the contents I find are my own and not from some other disembodied entity… I now trust the universality of the material due to the intense responses many people had to ‘Eye of the Condor.’ … when the client is diving into the deepest recesses of the mind and encounters animal archetypes, I found animal teachers within. Then, as soon as I found the animals, I found the stars!” (Pg. xxiv)
She states, “This is a blasphemous book because it tells the truth. It is a blasphemous book because millions have been killed to keep us from discovering that we are free people. Our oppression is having the story of our origins buried, lied about, and used for power over people. Most importantly, our story -was taken u and we could not know Christ in the heart---until now.” (Pg. xxviii)
She says, “The records of time, the real story of our history---imagine if I could get in touch with the origins of creation. What are we? What is our consciousness? I had passed through the three gates, passed beyond the judgment of others, and beyond the idea that evil was not me. Possibly I knew who I was in this life, but that did not show me how I arrived at this organization of self that I perceived in me. What had I done before? What was the probable influence of past experience on my present self-definition? One thing I knew for sure: All of this knowledge existed within the cells of my own body. Who I was held a road map to my inner being, which had been formed when I breathed the first breath of life.” (Pg. 29)
She observes, “We live in a world on the verge of complete annihilation, a world we have created that has emerged from powers hidden deep within the darkest recesses of the human soul. But not, of course, from within ‘my’ soul! If this manifestation were within my soul, then could it be that I am unwittingly the evil itself? As I considered that possibility, I felt an intense pain in my heart…” (Pg. 49)
She records, “I call myself my own lightbody, Itzanna, ‘the god who enters into density, into the Mother Earth.’ I named myself on Harmonic Convergence when I meditated for many hours with my Atlantean record crystal in the Temple of the Quetzal Butterfly… After hours in the blazing sun, Itzanna came into soul fusion and I asked to be able to resonate with the records of Teotihuacan.” (Pg. 103)
She states, “We are on the threshold of a fusion of the Earth with the stellar self---the part of ourselves that is cosmic. This rainbow bridge is a critical leap. It is a fusion that is the chiroptic point, the moment when God and Earth are united into a magnificent column of white light. Do not look back! Do not grab for a rope! Do not reach out for your addiction one more time! This is the edge of the abyss to the divine flight of knowing evil in the midst of the search for true goddesses.” (Pg. 143)
She says, “Now I am on the verge of releasing the power of the Goddess, whether the power is her womb or her fury. I do not care, for the ecocide of my times is the greatest sin since the beginning of time. There are many blasphemous stories in this epic, but nothing is as evil as the murder of the Earth. I wash my hands of all of my own male control of the Earth as a priest…” (Pg. 159)
She asserts, “Our threat of self-annihilation is not so paralytic when we remember that we are not the only planet in the cosmos journeying to the divine. We have reached that point when we must open to mystery. There is no other way. Remember, the male principle evolves, the female principle is everlasting.” (Pg. 181)
This book may interest some who are interested in channeled writings.
This is an amazing book, though I cannot say that I fully comprehend it. You would need to be on the same level as the brilliant author to do so.
Barbara experiences and recounts for us her regressions to multifarious previous lives (if that is indeed what they all are); these personages include well-known figures such as Isaiah and Pontius Pilate, but also others some of whom should perhaps been recorded by history, but were not (at least I hadn’t heard of them).
The regressions span not only a time period of thousands and thousands of years, but also various universes, apparently. One major theme is the violence of the masculine gender and the pressing need to balance the energies of the two genders, i.e. restore the power of the feminine. Barbara experiences leaping from the body of a perpetrator of rape into the body of the victim. We have all played the roles of both perpetrators of violence and victims and indeed all need to experience both sides.
There is much information about the Harmonic Convergence of 1987 and the role of the Pleiadians, who seek to expedite our spiritual development by radiating love to us. “The beam from us has become a Rainbow bridge from the stars to earth.” Basically, as far as I can understand, the book is about our impending ascension into the 4th/5th dimension, which necessitates that we emulate “Christos”.
She cites Christos as saying:
“My gift to the people is good. I encode the planet with the knowledge that now is the time to take my gift and own it. You, the people, must become the divine beings who were in the mind of the Creator in the beginning.”
This book is very intense and Plutonian and, though fascinating, I can’t say it’s easy to read. It is packed with information and there are constant leaps from one time to another, one universe to another, one body to another, there are instances of bilocation, etc etc. I would say it is a book for the select few. It contains wonderful, intricate illustrations drawn by Angela C. Werneke.
The book is a collection of dream- and journeywork, leading the author through past life experiences, and spiritual experience of her outer life. Recommended by boyfriend, wasn't sure what to expect. Found it to be a stream of consciousness expression of rage, beginning with a rape, clothed in sacred ritual, but still unwilling, unwanted, unasked for, energetically impure, feminist nightmare born out of fear? Pain that the writer chooses for herself? I send to Creator the prayer that the author find healing.
