A very good summary of 12 contemporary philosophers. Each chapter is written by a different author, but the text is very uniform and clear throughout, showing an excellent work by the editors. I have learned a great deal from this book, although some particular subjects were not of my direct interest, and some others were a little difficult to understand (that is not a fault of the book). Note that the focus is on analytic philosophy, as opposed to continental philosophy, although some philosophers did deviate from the strict analytic line at some point of their careers. I highly recommend this book.

I hoped for the wider variety of personalities in this book. The 12 philosophers present similar schools of thought and are much alike.
