Asaoka Modoru's books have a tendency to feel... I want to say feel slow, but that's not quite right. She knows how to capture the ordinariness of every day life, I think, and that could feel boring to some people, but for me it adds depth to the story.
This is the second part and conclusion to a really good friends to lovers story. I found the overall time-span and some of their actions not that believable, to be honest, but so many small moments and observations made up for that, so four stars seem fair enough.
It doesn't really feel like BL overall, although some parts do. It's difficult to explain - her characters act like BL characters, but the story itself feels more... like a regular novel. That frustrated me occasionally; although it's not necessarily a bad thing. I definitely enjoy reading her novels and encountering her thoughts on people and relationships.
