Iron Elite #2

Her Last Audition

Rate this book
I was never meant for this world.

When you grow up like me, the darkness of the world will surprise you. I didn’t expect the depravity of humanity, or of men.

I never saw it coming.

After ending up at the wrong place for an audition, the Iron Elite took hold of me quickly. I now know real monsters wear suits, not teeth and claws.

There’s one man who looks at me differently than the rest. He looks dangerous, but there’s something hidden in his eyes that calls to me.

Are they all monsters? Or will I find my knight in the unlikeliest of places?

Her Last Audition is book two in the Iron Elite series but can be read as a standalone. This is a MF romance with dark themes and topics.

So so good. Once I finished this I was mentally applauding the author on such a great read.

Kinsey is a lovely likeable character. I was really rooting for her. Atlas… swoon- I can’t resist this hotty.

Brilliant storyline with very likeable characters.. I’m so looking forward to reading more from this author soon.

Her Last Audition by Ella Burns is an interconnected standalone story in Iron Elite world. And it truly is phenomenal.

Ella punches you in the gut with Atlas - our scarred hero and his knightly tales every damn time - but then, you meet Kinsey. The woman to tame the beast. The woman to practically pussy-whip this giant. This is unlike any book she has ever written. It takes a while to build the story up, to reach that point where everything amplifies tenfold, but once that happens, you're going to get sucked into a world of underground fights, late night charades, and you'll actually meet someone very special.

RIOT - I'm looking at you...

Entertaining and hot

A self-sufficient former classical dancer Kinsey in need of a job goes to audition as a floor dancer, but ... ends up at the wrong address, Atlas' underground fighting establishment. This successful venture gains the interest of the Iron Elite, notorious crime syndicate, and not only that, so does sweet Kinsey. Atlas, big, brawny, scarred and sexy, must now make a bargain for her return as well as the managing of his business.

A first reading a sweet but steely heroine from this author, and it was a pleasant departure to experience this persona so well characterized, which happens to be one of my favorite representations of a heroine. Kinsey made well-thought decisions, took deliberate steps without being exaggeratedly naive or reckless. Sweet but steely. Additionally, you could not help but fall in love with the protective Atlas (cool name), a broken and not so good guy who sometimes has to do bad things. He is virtuous but takes action if the situation calls for it. I simply liked how he behaved and demonstrated the normal behaviors and reactions of a typical person.

I found this plot line entertaining, great flow and pace though a little less compelling a storyline to first book, which carried more suspense, violence, and grit. Not to say I did not like book 2 as I certainly did; this one had more light and yielding love story focus until its climatic turn of events late in the book. I live for enactment of warnings. Nothing at all wrong with the steam level in this book, especially that first scene. The author hit us with it early on (thank you) but appropriately, no artificial delays.

Great set of side characters both new, Jaimie and Rock, as well as Jay, and old with ties to book 1, appearances from Echo and Killian.

Overall great book. I always enjoy reading this author. I look forward to exploring more in this world.

Two Fucking Words. . .

Atlas Bates

"At least when I'm an asshole, I fucking own it."

Yes this asshole alone is one of the reasons that made me stay glued to my Kindle for hours. Not to say Kinsey didn't play her part in hijacking my brain. Hell who am I kidding this entire fucking story was just what my little black heart needed.
1. sex
2. blood
3. violence
and
4. a crazy ass character or 2

I already had some idea about the fuckwads of the Iron Elite from the first book. But, this one you kind of get to see a little bit more of what the Iron Elite is. And then to see what was going on in the first book was just a scratch of the surface.

Echo and Killian set the bar kind of high for any couple to come for this series. I mean they were perfect together. That is until you basically had fucking beauty and the mother fucking beast swoop in and knock the bar fucking over. Because yes that's kind of how I look at Atlas and Kinsey. Atlas was the big alpha male that used his scarred face to keep people away, and kind of like an intimidation factor. Then you have little silver hair Kinsey. The beauty that doesn't look like she belongs in Atlas's world.

Now I already knew that I was going to be grabbing this book once it was released. I mean I fucking loved the first book so it was a no brainer. But, still the fucking cover. MASTERPIECE. . . I just love it when I can say that a book is a work of art from the cover work to the pages in-between. And I am glad to say that this is one of those books.

Burns gave me the characters I really love to read. You know that alpha male that's an asshole, but he's still lovable. A "Lovable Asshole." At least when it comes to those that matter. And then there was the ones that I could see myself just wanting to put a knife in their heart. The females were kind of vulnerable, but they were in no way weak ass bitches. Nope they still have some fight in them.

I cannot wait for the next book in this series. I have a feeling Riot is going to live up to his name. So Burns time to scoot your ass into the writing cave, because the world needs Riots story. And when I say world I mean me. I am the impatient world, needing Riot's story.

What an amazing story, I did not know if I would like the story, but it was well worth the read. Once I started reading I was drawn into the plot/Iron Elite world, I needed to know how everything was going to work itself out. Every character was very well developed and every one truly added to the story.
Kinsley is incredible! She was so sweet, but also knew she had to evolve while she waited for her white knight to rescue her. She demonstrated this by using her acting and dancing skills to stay safe. I loved Atlas’ devotion to saving her, he would do anything. This book is definitely worth picking up, especially if you enjoy dark romances.
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Her last audition started out as something that I have never read before . I wasn’t sure of it at first not because It wasn’t well written because it was written perfectly for its story, but because it went way beyond what I am used to reading . The more I read it and the more the characters took on a life of their own it became a great read . It was gripping and emotional and it was raw and dirty . It showed the lengths one would have to go to endure such an ordeal and come out on the other side ….. was it love that got them through ? Was it shear will ? Read this book and find out . You won’t be disappointed!

Well, this definitely is one hell of a read and yet again Ella completely captivates you with this!

Emotional, raw and dirty is probably the best way to describe the book and I was so happy, probably not the right word lol, to find out more about the iron elite after we only got a little glimpse into them in the first book.

Not to give any spoilers, so you just have to read this. Ella will leave you completely obsessed with her and her incredible stories.

Her Last Audition is the second book in the Iron Elite Series by Ella Burns. It can be read as a standalone, but has an overarching story arc and themes with the first book in the series. This is my first Ella Burns novel and I had no difficulty following along.

Kinsey is a girl that never really had an easy life, but still underestimates the depravity of the world. She’s trying to make a living for herself in the city, but has had a difficult time finding a dancing job. As a last resort, she goes out to one final audition on the other side of town and has the bad luck of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Kinsey finds herself captive of the “Iron Elite”, her only hope resting on the enigmatic scarred man she met the same night she was kidnapped.

What a wonderful story! It started off with a bang and just kept going. The plot was interesting and different and the story moved along quickly. This was definitely a darker readKinsey was a wonderful heroine. She tries to see the best in people and is sweet and compassionate. She was able to quickly grow as a person with every obstacle she met and was a lot more resilient then she even knew. “Different worlds or not, she’s mine and every fibre of my fucking body knows it”. Atlas is our wonderful anti-hero… drawn in against his will as if compulsed to save the innocent girl who looks at him like he’s a hero. No one has ever looked past his scars, made him feel like he’s not a monster and Kinsey manages to breathe new life into him. They had wonderful chemistry and the smexy times were 🔥🔥🔥. It really was a wonderful read and I can’t wait to see where Ella goes next!

Ella Burns is smashing it out the park with her Iron Elite series this is book 2 and can be read standalone but who want to miss out! Kinsey finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time and ends up in the clutches of the Iron Elite. she soon discovers nightmares aren't just in your sleep but in real life and her saviour may just be the worst. Atlas is the antihero of all antiheros but his obsessive devotion towards Kinsey may just be her ticket to survival. This story is well written with an in depth story line that has you hooked on every word, nicely detailed scenes filled with twisted depravity, desires, violence and more!

Ella did it again! Truly incredible!

Her Last Audition is an interconnected standalone, and the second installment in the Iron Elite series.

This story takes you on such an emotional rollercoaster. Kinsey, an actress just trying to make it without having to strip to pay rent, ends up in quite a bit of danger when she wanders into the wrong place at the wrong time. She quickly learns that in the clutches of the Iron Elite life is much harsher than she could ever have imagined.

Atlas, the brooding alpha a-hole that's been forced to join the Iron Elite's twisted band of brothers, cares for no one but those in his inner circle. Going out on a limb for his friend Jay, he works his way through the gruesome initiation process for the Iron Elite with the hopes of saving Kinsey.

Their story is heart breaking, brutal and at times horrifying, but beneath the darker elements there's something extremely sweet about their relationship. Atlas slowly morphs into the hero Kinsey really needs. He does deplorable things simply to save her, meanwhile Kinsey is just trying to survive long enough to make it out alive, and home safe with Atlas. Over time they truly warm to each other, and Atlas becomes Kinsey's sense of safety and home.

I loved the character development for the MC's throughout this book. Ella writes so wonderfully and each chapter leaves you begging for more. I loved the way Echo and Kill, from Her String of Pearls, book 1 in the Iron Elite Series, were brought into the fold too without taking from Atlas and Kinsey's story. If anything seeing them again just added to the overall excitement I felt about this book.

I can't wait to read the next installment in the series and thanks to the epilogue I believe we're in for a real treat!

After how good Her String of Pearls was, I've been patiently waiting for Her Last Audition, and Ella Burns did it again!

This story was dark, raw, gritty, and emotional. I was intrigued and glued to my kindle from the very beginning wanting to know what will happen next.

Kinsey is a sweet girl trying to achieve her dream, who was in the wrong place at the wrong time; thanks to the Iron Elite, her life will take the most unexpected and horrible turn. Kinsey is strong and resilient; she is good at hiding her emotions, something she had to learn while growing up, and this will be an advantage while she tries to survive the fate that the Iron Elite forced upon her.

Atlas is the complete opposite of Kinsey; he the epitome of an anti-hero. He finds himself involved in the Iron Elite unexpectedly, but he will do whatever it takes to save Kinsey, the girl who has been able to spark something and get closer to him than any other person before. While he might look like a saviour to Kinsey, he is far from being just that.

The chemistry between Kinsey & Atlas is explosive; what they feel for each other is something new for both of them, something they have never experienced before, and they will learn to understand it throughout the book. There is so much depth with these two characters, and we also get to dive more into the Iron Elite world, what they are capable of doing and their twisted ways.

I really can't wait to get more of this series; while this book is part of the Iron Elite series, it can be read as a standalone. If you enjoy dark romances, then I definitely recommend you give this book a go, but if you have any triggers, then please read the TW.

I loved reading Atlas and Kinsey’s story.
Atlas stole a piece of my heart.
Underneath this scary looking mountain of a man lies a big hearted soul.
He wants to right wrongs.
But knows which battles to fight.
Atlas may not be the perfect man.
But he’s perfectly imperfect.
Kinsey is a sweet girl.
I adorned her.
Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time will be the turning point of her life.
In the most horrible of ways.
Until fate steps in and takes over.
Kinsey and Atlas have great chemistry together.
Along with a bond they can’t seem to understand.
It gets shaken at times.
But it’s always there.
I wish there was more detailed information on how Riot took care of Atlas’ problem.
Won’t say what that problem is as to not give anything away.
Ms. Burns delivers a raw gritty story.
The evil members of the Iron Elite are disgusting vile men.
So she doesn’t sugar coat some scenes.
But also doesn’t give full details on the abhorrence going on.
It’s enough to know exactly what is happening and what’s being done.
I was on the edge of my seat and my heart pounding hard.
I’m looking forward to reading Riot’s story.

Her Last Audition, Iron Elite Book 2 in a series of interconnected standalones was such a great read!

Kinsey, a down on her luck dancer, is trying to find open auditions, the good kind, where she can keep her clothes on. She wants to show her mom she isn’t worthless. Following a lead, she ends up in an audition that changes her life forever.

Atlas thinks women are only good for one thing, that is, until he meets the Silver Vixen. He becomes obsessed with making her his and only his. He just needs to get her away from the people that have her.

What I loved about it was that our h, was opposite Book 1’s h, Echo. Where Echo was out for revenge, Kinsey was just minding her business trying to make something out of her life. Little did Kinsey know that she needed an Atlas in her life to protect her, love her and have naughty times with.

Can’t wait to meet the next set of characters!!!

Her last audition by ella burns; book 2 in Iron elite series.
What a Read! I had no idea what I was get ing into as this is the first time author for me but I really liked it.
It can be read as a standalone (M/F) but has mention of characters from previous book? I need to read book 1 asap.
This book features Atlas and kinsey, and through unfortunate turns of events both this characters find themselves in dire situations.
Kinsey is really smart in like she didn't waste energy where she knew she couldn't change the outcome. 'Pick your bat les'
Atlas is such a rugged but good person. He really stepped up!
This book is dark not dark romance but has triggering elements and dark plot.
The chemistry was 🔥. All in all a great book with fast paced plot .

Atlas and Kinsley are everything. Atlas would seriously burn the world to the ground to save Kinsley and while Kinsley is this sweet soul she is also resilient and knows how to work the situation she’s in to her advantage until she can be saved. Everything about their story was rough, raw and gritty! You are completely captured from the beginning and holding your breath until the end because you have to know what’s going to happen. We dive deeper into the world that is the Iron Elite and just how ruthless they actually are. I don’t want to give anything away just know that you need to read this one. Don’t wait run and grab it now!!

Wow! This book blew my mind..

Her Last Audition is book 2 in the Iron Elite series, and focuses on Kinsey and Atlas. The story includes a scarred hero (one of my favorites), a very original plot, characters you love, and definitely some characters to hate. The story line is darker, and there are some triggers for sensitive readers. There's a nice dose of violence, hot scenes and a hero that draws no boundaries when it comes to saving his girl, even when he doesn't understand his own feelings.

Bring on Riot's book next! And hoping we get more visits with Echo & Kill, and Kinsey & Atlas in book three.

Her Last Audition by Ella Burns is a dark romance. This is the second book in the Iron Elite series and can be read as a standalone.

The book does come with a caution/warning "This is a MF romance with dark themes and topics and does contain triggers."

This is the forth book of Ella's that I have read and it definitely won't be my last. I was hooked from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I loved the relationship that bloomed between Atlas and Kinsey. I absolutely loved Atlas! He pulled at my heart strings.

I can't for the next book in the series to be announced so I can get Jaime and Riot's story.

I would recommend this book if you like dark romances or romantic suspense.

Leave it to EB to send a second packed punch in your direction just as soon as you start to bounce back from the last knockout! All the things you want in a dark series, more than you asked for, but never too much to get you running away!
Atlas is perfectly possessive, completely dominant, and arrogant to no end. His actions, words, and views on everything give you that absolute love to hate and hate to love him vibe. Kinsley is the rose blooming among the thorns. Beautiful, alluring, and soft at a glance. No one realizes that the thorns she is growing in belong to her, so come a little close, and bleed a lot! She is the only one to reach Atlas and the only one he wants to have.
These books just keep getting better and better, go in blind. Be aware that dark is dark, the things that that thrive there are the ones that people have trouble facing the most, there are things that "may" be thought of as trigger to some. Fair judgment needs to be offered if you know that and still take a dive with the warnings. For me personally I had no triggers during this read. But, triggers are different for all and some it can take a lot to hard limit, others can be swayed in the wind.

This is the 2nd in the Iron Elite series from Ella Burns and just like with the 1st I couldn’t put it down! There are trigger warnings so please be aware of those before reading.

In HLA we meet Atlas and Kinsey. Atlas is the scarred bad boy and Kinsey is the innocent female who lands in trouble she doesn’t know how to get out of. While this may be a trope that has been done many times before, Ella puts her own unique spin on it and didn’t leave me feeling like I have read this same story (just with name changes) like some other books have. We get a real in depth look at Atlas and Kinsey. We learn about what makes them tick and they became so much more than just characters I was reading about. I was able to submerge myself into the world Ella has created and was sad when the story ended. I wanted more. Atlas was the perfect mix of Alphahole and hero only for Kinsey. Kinsey may have started out innocent but by the end she had a whole new outlook on the world. She didn’t stay naive and keep her head buried in the sand the whole time. Her growth as a character was as fascinating to me as Atlas’ growth. Needless to say I am in love with this series and can’t recommend it enough!

Amazing Dark Romance Read
Ella Burns does it again. I am so loving her Iron Elite series. Atlas is the epitome of the anti-hero. That saying that a hero will sacrifice you to save the world but a villain will sacrifice the world to save you? That was written about Atlas. He’s not a reluctant criminal by any means. And Kinsey is the exact opposite. Just a sweet ray of sunshine that finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time. But don’t think that makes her weak. She’s a survivor at heart and her journey through this new dark world was gut wrenching and amazing.
I’m so enthralled by the world Ella is creating in these books. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for Jaime.
This is a dark romance so please read trigger warning before proceeding.

I am new to Ella Burns and the Iron Elite series. This book was definitely dark and a lot different compared to the type of books I usually read but I did enjoy it! I love how vulgar Ella is in the book and how she isn’t afraid to be dirty and detailed.

Kinsey Russell is an aspiring actress who ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time which resulted her working as a sex slave for the Iron Elite. Atlas Bates is a former underground fighter who witnessed what happened to Kinsey and wanted to do nothing but save her.

Their chemistry was UNDENIABLE. It was instant and I loved it. I loved Atlas.

This book can be read as a standalone, which is what I did but I’m going back to read book 1 so I can be ready for the next book!!

Entertaining and exiting story!

This story is raw, gritty, explosively sexy and one hell of an emotional rollercoaster ride! It kept me on the edge of my seat throughout not knowing how things were going to possibly turn out for the better.

Kinsey and Atlas are thrown together into a whirlwind sexy encounter that doesn’t slow down one bit. They are put through some really intense tests and nail-biting moments that had me breathless at every turn. It was thrilling, entertaining and so damn sexy that I could not get enough of these two and I never wanted their story to end.

I loved this story and I can’t wait for the next book in this series. I just know that it will be as explosive and sexy as this one was.

Oh yeah, Miss Ella does it again!! After reading Her String of Pearls, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this and I was not disappointed. This is a standalone in the interconnected world of the Iron Elite. I read this cover to back because I couldn't put it down. Kinsey and Atlas are the bomb! A sweet, innocent girl who shows up at the wrong place and wrong time. The Iron Elite just decides to take her, like she's a piece of their property. Atlas, a  hardened criminal, goes to save her. A man who doesn't care about anyone or anything, who does unimaginable things to save Kinsey. Things even he thinks are wrong and that's saying something. But somehow Kinsey manages to pussywhip Atlas, without even trying.

I think I’ll keep this review short and simple this time around.

I’m still conflicted on how I feel about this series you could say. I again found myself skimming parts of it like I did the last book. However, I can say with absolute certainty that book 2 is better than book 1 in my opinion. Atlas is my new book boyfriend and I love everything about him. He is what made me want to keep reading and I’m glad I did. The heroine of the story just didn’t really vibe with me and that’s probably because I prefer them to be tougher and more independent I suppose. Ooh I also liked how we got to learn more about the Iron Elite as well as following characters throughout their journey!

I enjoyed it nonetheless and I’m looking forward to see what book 3 has in store.

Again Ella has drawn you in with her story. Even something so wrong and dirty and filled with violence, yet you can’t stop reading it... loving it ! It’s so interesting and holds you until the very end. Kinsey so sweet and innocent brought into a world of depravity, wickedness and any girls worst nightmare, but she has guts to. Atlas I liked him from the word go, there was just something about him, hard, raw but still got humanity in him and knows he is bad but owns up to it and I love him ! The iron elite are just soo f$&$ed up it isn’t funny, This book delves further into it all. Loved this 2nd book in the series and can’t wait for the next one ... riots book??

Her Last Audition by Ella Burns is the story of Atlas and Kinsey. Kinsey is on her way to an audition and ends up in the wrong place….and boy oh boy….is it EVER the wrong place. Things spiral out of control from there…and Atlas is her only hope. But, there’s a price to pay.

This story is full of so many different situations, emotions, and deadly intents…Kinsey is thrown into a world she doesn’t understand and her new life is a nightmare that’s become her new reality. Dubious characters, mind-numbing events, and deadly consequences….very good story!!!

I am volunteering to leave a review for an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Dark Mafia with lots of triggers - trafficking and rape. If that is something that will bother you then please steer clear.

I love dark mafia so this was right up my alley. Kinsey is going for an audition but gets the address mixed up. Her life is drastically changed when the Iron Elite kidnap her. She is almost too sweet but eventually gets more enraged and starts to fight back. Atlas steps in and does all he can to save her from the hell she is in. Eventually he ends up falling for her and her for him.

Good book that will definitely keep you invested and wanting to see what happens in the next book with Riot.

Another stellar book by Ella Burns. If you like anti-heroes, this is definitely the book for you. Atlas takes alpahole to a whole other level. He is an immovable mountain until he crosses paths with sweet, innocent Kinsey. These two are complete opposites but are perfect together.

Getting more insight into the Iron Elite was intriguing…it is a seriously messed up organization. I can’t wait for future books to see exactly how far the Iron Elite will go with their depravity and what the victims will be forced to endure before getting revenge with the help of their anti-heroes.

Following on from book 1 in the series, ( can be read standalone). This book delves more into the world of the Iron Elite, a women trafficking ring. It features Atlas a character briefly mentioned in book 1, scarred Hero who runs a club. Heroine Kinsey was in the wrong place at the wrong time, I loved this book she wasn't as fearless as the heroine in book 1. But it fitted perfectly, a damsel in distress a blushing beast trying to save the day. It wasn't a easy road, triggers for some rape not by the Hero. Looking forward to what more this series brings.
