Cape May #6

Cape May Locals' Summer

Rate this book
It’s September in Cape May. The summer visitors are back home and the residents have the beaches back to themselves. It’s officially the locals’ summer.

Margaret and Dave realize that they have two different ideas of what they’d like their wedding to be, which puzzles Margaret.

Liz and Greg finally take a belated honeymoon, a long-awaited trip ten years in the making—a two-week RV tour of the Eastern Seaboard, which draws excitement, eye rolls, and laughs.

Sarah and Chris experience issues with their home electricity, while Sarah decides to take a spontaneous trip abroad.

Judy and Bob spend a lot of time with Hugo, their newly adopted dog, at the dog beach, and step in to watch Liz and Greg’s sons during their honeymoon, which ends up being a little more than they bargained for.

Donna rethinks her relationship with Dale, and is surprised to see her ex-husband back in town.

In Book 6 of the Cape May Series, spend time following everyone’s adventures through the ups and downs that life has to offer. Though some may venture to far-off places, Cape May ultimately brings them all back home, right where they belong.

This is Book 6 in the Cape May series. It is recommended to start at Book 1, The Cape May Garden.

Memorable Quotes: Greg put the RV in drive and they headed to their first meal in Maine—lobster rolls, something that had been on their bucket list for years. Afterwards, they headed back to the RV to get onto the road. Liz looked at the map and list that Greg had handed her earlier. “So, this says we’re on our way to Bar Harbor? Do you know how long we’ve been wanting to go here? This is so exciting, Greg.” Greg smiled. “Yep. That’s why I flew into Bangor and not Portland. But first, let’s drive by Stephen King’s house.” Liz’s eyes widened. “Wait. Are you serious?” Greg laughed. “Never been more serious. After that, we’ll drive an hour or so to the Bar Harbor area, walk around the shops, grab a bite to eat, catch the sunset, and settle in for the night at the campground. Tomorrow morning, we’ll finally go explore Acadia National Park.”

My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️¾🧳🛫🏇⛵️

My thoughts: 🔖31 of 123 CHAPTER FOUR - This feels more relaxed than the previous book, and since when are Liz's boys twins? I'm too lazy to triple-check in Books 1 and 2. These feel like filler storylines.
🔖83 CHAPTER NINE - Well, this has gotten a lot better. I love travel and food, it's enough to make me almost forget that 13-year-olds just realized their grandparents were parents first.

This was mostly good, although it's just a lot of happenings with no solid direction, but the ending felt rushed.

Recommend to others: Yes. I'm probably going to have to wrangle up the 2023-2024 books.

This book was a little slower than the other books in the series. It’s a comfort read and whenever I feel like I want to get lost in a beautiful place and just feel good, I’ll pick up this series.

I like the series. It is a light easy to read series. A nice break from the murder mysteries and historical fiction that I usually read

This was my favorite installment since the third book. But it also depends on my mood. These books are like a warm hug that I return to , when I need to go to my “happy place “.

It’s a very light, beachy read. I’m enjoying all the local Ocean City, NJ and shore town references. The writing is much like reading a Harlequin romance novel, everything always works out in the end!

And another book in the series completed one more to go and I change it up for bit before getting back to the next few books.

This book was much more quiet very little drama happening with the group but fun to see each couple interact and move foward.
