Am I...a whore?

Nah, all jokes aside, the AU is really interesting to me. (Not the Cherry Magic part, but the universe itself). I went into this thinking it was a strictly Modern/No-Magic AU (I miss tags sometimes, sue me) but was pleasantly surprised. The integration of Cultivation into the modern world is so well-done and I can easily believe that this is how the practice would evolve/develop technologically within the canon universe as time progresses. How cool!! I think it sort of builds a bridge between canon and the typical Modern AU, and it’s something I don’t think I’ve ever seen done before, at least not like this. I will say that this made it a bit confusing that Wei Ying felt nobody would believe him about the curse but—hey, Idgaf. The author was cooking and I was well-fed.

The writing in this feels simultaneously familiar and also unique? It’s very dialogue-heavy (which makes it easier/faster to read, at least for me) (I have a less than thirty second attention-span) (I’m not exaggerating) and isn’t particularly flowery at all but somehow?? I kept getting shocked at like sporadic lines that caught me off-guard. Similes placed in areas I wouldn’t have considered. Metaphors used humourously. Short, rapid-fire paragraphs. It’s so fun. It’s just like. Really fun.

Anyway I feel like the first half of this is some shit that would happen to me. I’ll see y’all in like ten years and let you know.

Just, excellent. I love the progression in this, the characterisation, and the whole thought processes. Gosh. Yes. Thank you.
