Good, easy explanations on how a house is constructed from design to finish (including the types of workers and materials). The end featured interesting types of houses, such as stilt houses, earth-sheltered houses, geodesic dome houses, and shipping container houses, which were really fascinating to me.

A good basic introduction to designing and building a house. Lots of pictures, informative but reasonably simple text. My son has not stopped talking about the house he is going to build when he grows up and all the things he is going to put into it since we read it this morning.
