This Christian children's book is aimed at ages 3-6. It started with the mother thanking God for something good and teaching her cub to think about what he'd thank God for. She then told him the story from Acts 3:1-10 where Peter heals a lame beggar. The cub asked things like if the "temple gate called Beautiful" was in rainbow colors, and the illustrations show what he's imagining. Still, the illustrations (while cartoon style) were fairly accurate in giving an idea of what things would have looked like. It's a fun way to teach this important lesson, and my 5-year-old niece enjoyed it. It's a bit wordy for my 2-year-old niece, though.

Excellent picture book for early readers
“Clever Cub Gives Thanks to God” is one title in a series of books that features Clever Cub and his best friend, Fred, a fluffy rabbit. The story is welcoming for young readers, especially if partnered with an enthusiastic adult or older sibling. Clever is an inquisitive bear and questions everything. He and Mama are immersed in the story and move from a field of wild flowers to the streets of Jerusalem, doors of the temple, sitting on the ground with the paralyzed man, in front of a massive pile of gold and back to the woodlands. They, along with Fred, travel thru each scene of the story and participate in the action; it’s pure magic for youngsters.
If your kids are early readers, the story format uses a group of vocabulary words that’s easily learned by 4-6 year olds. There’s lots of repetition for key words, the action and words are a reasonable match so that the young readers can enjoy the experience rather than being overwhelmed by it.
Because the story is a retelling of scripture for children, (Acts 3:1-10), there’s lots of opportunity for asking your readers how they can and would apply the truths in their own lives. This is a fun way to bring the gospel alive for children.
All things considered, cute artwork with an excellent Biblical message for children 📚

So cute! Can’t wait to read it to my new grandson when he’s older!
