Mamas That Rock #1

The Mama Diaries

Rate this book
Seeking: the kind of love you can't get from any other but another mother.
Tracey, Anna, Hadley, and Mia are four mamas who come from different walks of life. Their journeys, so far, into parenthood are not mirrored. But these four women are missing something: the companionship of those who exist alongside them in a chaotic child gangster world.

When Tracey—a mother of four boys whose rationality hangs on by only a thin teether—walks through the doors of a Mother's Day meet and greet at her local society club, a journey none of these women could have ever imagined unfolds.

Through the ups and downs, laughter and tears, wrongs and rights, a bond unexpectedly forms and swiftly becomes unbreakable.

From police escorts, and demonic vomiting bugs, these mama's have each other’s backs. And just when they think the insanity of motherhood couldn’t get any crazier, it does. But they'll survive anything now they have their mama posse—their fall-back crew—right by their side.

Told from the perspective of four women, Belle Brooks presents a comical take on parenthood, marriage, divorce and family—a hilarious tale like no other.

The Mama Diaries follows four womanTracey, Mia, Anna and Hadley who meet at a Mother's Day meet and greet. They form a bond that helps them through the everyday ups and downs of raising children, first pregnancies, stressful single parenting woes, womanhood even scary traumatic events. Their antics will have you laughing out loud, I nearly peed myself with the playground/slide part. There was so many things that are hilarious and oh so true to life lawd have mercy. I loved how each told their story within the story so we got to know them each. The text between them were fantastic, the Mama Date, the diary entries, the stories of things the kids did, how they were there to support each other. The whole book was enjoyable, relatable, realistic and down right hilarious. The banter between them made them feel like they were the best of friends and I wanted to be a part of it and take a ride along with them to see where they go.

I received an ARC from the author.

This is a crazy, no holds barred, feel good story with an emotional mix of laugh out loud and poignant moments .. the highs and lows of motherhood, womanhood and the strength of fellowship and love, in all its forms, are splurged out on these pages.

I loved all the mayhem…there were wonderful snippets providing a trip down memory lane, to a time, not that long ago, when my maternal instincts were stretched to the limit with sleepless nights and challenging, exhausting days. But this isn’t just about parenthood, this is also about the journey of a group of idiosyncratic, supportive women, negotiating the vagaries of life, friendship, and love.

This is not my usual read, but I love the writing and voice of this author so I gave it a go. I’m so thrilled I did because it was a delight throughout and left me smiling, wincing, and scowling in equal measures. I want these women in my life…if for no other reason than they too have been there, done that, and are finally getting their medals… I received an advanced copy of this book from the author

Mama Diaries is hilarious, realistic, down-to-earth, mind blowing, loving and so relatable that it has something for everyone and must be read by all! This story brings four very different women of all shapes and sizes together in amazing ways and will have you laughing out loud, giving high fives, and wanting a drink and a nap in no particular order. This book proves why every mom or friend needs their own posse to have their back and support them through all the ups and downs of life. I could not stop turning the pages, as I needed to know what these kids would put their mama’s through. Then throw in the ex, the husbands, the strangers and the nanny and I was yelling, fist bumping, and freaking out. You need to read this book for the park, the diary, the “mama” date, the airport, the texts and the cars alone. Mama Diaries is a breath of fresh air that will bring women all over the world together as they go on a unpredictable journey of never- ending friendship while on the ride of their life!

*I received a free copy of The Mama Diaries. This has in no way influenced my voluntary review which is honest and unbiased.*

Oh my freaking goodness! The Mama Diaries is the book all mothers need in their life. And we all also need a group of mama friends like Tracey, Mia, Anna and Haddie. Because we truly need to stick together.

Filled with humour, a lot of truths, some heartache, and stories about kids that are so realistic (and also very funny - it all has to do with perspective!), The Mama Diaries is a fantastic start to Belle Brook's new series.

The Mama Diaries Book One is the book I didn’t know I needed. It was refreshingly entertaining, with witty banter and I could definitely identify with what the women go through in regards to motherhood. Oh boy and then some.
This is a book to put high on your tbr list. The characters Tracey, Anna, Hadley and Mia meet at a Mother’s day meet and great. Little do these women know what lies ahead as their bond continues to grow and the wonderful support they have for each other is truly amazing. Something every mother needs in their corner, female friendships! They are definitely a down to earth bunch!
There are hilarious antics the respective mums go through and I found myself laughing alot. I honestly did not want the book to end and I’m hoping this is the start of a new series with lots more stories to come. I love these characters, they have wormed their way into my heart and planted themselves there. An absolutely brilliant unputdownable book!

This book is much different to the usual "romance" books that are available but I loved it. It was hilariously funny with moments that as a mum I could totally relate to. I enjoyed this and I look forward to the next book.

What an absolutely fantastic read! If this doesn't make it to Netflix as a new series or movie then I don't know what will. The most hilarious and real book on parenthood you'll ever read. This book helps you not feel so alone in the "adventure" that is being a mum. Have a read with a glass of wine, in a bubble bath or just to help you get through another day . Highly Recommended!

This book is such a breath of fresh air! It was exactly what I needed to read without realizing it. It is funny, relatable, unpredictable, heartfelt perfection. And let me emphasize the hilarity, it is great. You will laugh, cry, swoon, and root for these women throughout. Each woman is so different, with stories that will hit home for everyone. I cannot wait to read more from this group of awesome women, friends, and mamas.

This book is so well written and gripped me from the beginning. I could not put it down. I can not emphasize how much lighter I felt after reading this because I felt like I had a group of mama friends who totally understood me. I cannot recommend this book enough, get it now!

The Mama Diaries brings back so many memories of being a working mother; the constant tiredness, feelings of inadequacy about whether I am doing a good enough job as a mother (I still have them even though my three have all grown up!), the incredible things children get up to and the fast-paced life where I am sure there were more than twenty-four hours in every day!

The author uses very expressive, and at times almost inappropriate, sentences that clearly show just how fed up Tracey is with where she is in her life, and how lonely. She does the same with each of the four women who are in very different yet equally challenging situations. There are so many hilarious scenes where you literally laugh out loud—OMG the slippery slide scene is a classic—and I know for the women at the time they weren’t funny but even they can see the humour, that’s what’s so good about the book. As well, you feel empathy and understanding for them and what they are going through. My heart just about broke for Anna but I also felt such anger for her ex. 🥺 Then, oh I the fear and nervous anticipation with Mia! Enough said as you need to read this book.

The small group of four build something much larger—a huge support structure that I believe should be in every mother’s life. Their chat via messenger, text, phone calls or face to face (mum dates 😉) become an essential part of their day and is very realistic. Even now, I know chatting to friends online daily is a blessing. Being a mother is one of life’s joys but it can be so terribly hard, too. Recognising this fact takes guts because most people pretend that it’s all roses and rainbows. 🤷🏻‍♀️

There are life lessons to be learnt in this story, very valuable ones all presented in an excellent manner. I think all new mothers-to-be should be given this story as a welcome to motherhood! Or on second thoughts… maybe we should make it when their child turns two?😆

Tracey, Anna, Hadley and Mia are the best mama group. They all bring a little something different to the table. I love these 4 together.

Tracey has 4 boys. She is looking for some mama friends. Anna has a boy and a girl. She is going through a rough divorce. Her daughter is not taking it well. Hadley has 2 girls and is madly in love with her husband and is also looking for some mom friends. Mia is the pregnant one. She needs mom friends to get advice from. Who knew a mom meet and greet would turn these 4 women into friends who could depend on each other. These moms are good for each other.
This book is down right hilarious. It's pee your pants and spit out your soda funny. I loved this book and couldn't put it down.

Bella Brooks writes this book in the funniest of ways. I loved the use of Australian words. It added to the story. I highly recommend you read this book. I can't wait to read what's next.

Moms On The Loose

This book will make you laugh. There are some very outrageous scenes, any mother can attest to could very well happen when you have little ones. This book is about four different women. They meet at a moms day meeting and hit it off. Tracey is the first one. A mom to four very rambunctious boys. And she has zero filters. You never know what is going to come out of her mouth. Anna is a recently separated mother of two. A boy and a girl who is having melt down issues with her dad not being around. She is in need of a lot of confidence boosting. Hattie is a wife to a workaholic, who travels a lot. She has two little girls and a nanny. And then Mia, Mia is a twenty-two year old who is pregnant for the first time. And having issues thinking she will be a good mom. Together they make up the moms. And they are all Opposites but get along fabulously. I loved this book.

A comedic gem

I love dark books. Like, love them. But sometimes a palate cleanser is needed and The Mama Diaries was perfect for this.

Belle Brooks is always a one-click author for me, but I must admit, I wasn’t sure about this one.
This book is about moms, and I’m not a mom, therefore I didn’t know if I’d enjoy it like I’ve loved all the other books I’ve read from this author.

My doubt was for nothing.

It’s an honest account of what it’s like being a mom based on four women in very different circumstances, who band together to weather the mommy storm.
This story was so well written, it was like being a member of the mom posse, living each moment right along with them.

I laughed, I teared up, I empathized.
I would highly recommend reading this if you enjoy witty dialogue and full-on belly laughs.

I’m looking forward to reading the next one in the series.

Oh my god ! This book had me howling in laughter, sympathising with each of the characters, abd then feeling thankful that some of the things that happened have never happened to me (yet) and was gripping enough for me to devour so quickly !

Four mums from 4 different walks of life collide and develop a friendship from being mums. I loved the fact we got to see parts of the story from each perspective and the support and love they have to each other !

Whether you are a mum (you’ll totally get this book snd sit thinking who you are most like in your world) or not (it’s quirky and funny as hell you don’t need to be a mum to enjoy this) this book is perfect !!

Bravo Belle Bravo ! I can not wait for the next instalment

This is the 1st in a new series and what a brilliant job this gifted author has done in weaving this amazing tale. This story is about 4-woman who meet at a meet and greet, and the bond which has developed throughout, and the bond which develops as they support and have each other’s backs though different life events. The high and lows of motherhood, stressful single parenting, poignant moments, traumatic events, and they are there though it all. This is a beautifully written story which is emotional, entertaining, and filled with witty banter, friendships, love, and is a humorous story, which has engaging and relatable characters. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

You can't ever go wrong with a book from Ms. Brooks. This one made me laugh harder than I have in a good long while! The humor started from the first sentence & rarely ebbed throughout the entirety of this much loved novel.

We are introduced to characters that every Mama can relate to. The stories that we are told, through the characters, can sometimes bring back the 'nightmares' that happen with parenting. There are also those times that we are reminded of, that we cherish so much!!

There were many times that I sat back for a moment or few, just reminiscing of my own children, when growing up, & all that I had dealt with, being a single Mama. I can't wait to see what best seller Ms. Brooks has coming up for us next!! I hope that it's soon!

What happens when your kids have taken over ever aspect of your life? You have no friends, no posse, no one to back you? You go on a speed date for mama’s group to find some friends.
Belle Brook’s newest novel is laugh out loud, snort out loud and gasp saying no freaking way, out loud. She has brought the realities of motherhood, single mom, established or new mom and brings together four unique women who become fast friends in the craziness called motherhood.
The ins and outs…a lot of outs with the kids and the trials of living your life and having a life outside your kids.
I’m personally never taking my nieces and nephews to another playground in my life, but I will be making sure to get the next installment of this series when it comes out!

Okay so to be quite honest I was going to give it 4 stars ONLY BECAUSE it's usually not what I read BUT as I sat here and pondered it I was like hold up this again is ANOTHER book of Belle's, a different genre than my romance reads that I loved reading! At the end when I looked back at this book it had everything for a 5 star so why not?!?! Just goes to show you every now and then you need to read something different not your norm. Belle you've done it with your thriller series with me and this comedic gem is another genre that now I NEED to add lists of what I love to read. Thank you for all the laughs and even some flashbacks of raising hellions lol

The stories the mamas share will leave you laughing out loud. Anyone who is around kids a lot will be able to relate with this story. There is so many funny moments but there are a few moments of heartache as well. I am honored to have received an ARC of this story! A great start to a new series by Belle Brooks. I so need the next one right now! This is a story I didn't know I needed...it brought some laughter in a time that I really needed it! Thank you Belle!!!!

It isn’t often I read a book that is not romance. This story was a must read though, from Belle Brooks, The Mama Diaries follows the friendship and lives of four women. These women meet on Mother’s Day and wind up becoming a lifeline for one another in a way only another mom friend can. Tracey, Anna, Hadley and Mia all have very different situations and challenges in their daily life, but the one way they are all the same is the hilarious, scary and sometimes disgusting, moments that exist in raising children. Readers will laugh, cringe, cry and even envy the moments these women have with their children, spouses and one another.

What a thoroughly charming endearing story of four women who meet and bond over being Mothers. The antics of the kids and the main characters are hilarious and relatable to any parent. Each of the four women, Tracey, Anna, Hadley and Mia are very different but somehow they all click and an instant "girl squad" is born. I love how they all bonded so quickly and each bring their own set of strengths to the quartet. I can't wait to read more about all of them. I am excited to see their men meet and if they get along as well as the women.

4 friends bonding over the trials and tribulations of owning little womb wreckers. Any mum reading this will relate to the strength you Garner from those mum's who are on your level, not the yummy mummies with the brochure perfect children but the ones with food stains on their tops before 8am, an unhealthy caffeine addiction and who acknowledge their kids are little arseholes no matter how much you love them .
