This book can't decide what it wants to be. The small pictures don't make enough sense on their own to be independently explored, yet the text refuses to be read aloud in a linear fashion. The game board would be great...if it wasn't just plunked in the middle of the book without any context. The illustrations do have a certain charm and the author had good intentions, but this book is so poorly designed that it is almost unsalvageable. Not recommended.

My 3yo started preschool and I thought this would be a great addition for our friendship themed book rotation with our library. We’ve read many Bob Kolar books in the past, but this book was a let down. I am basing this based on the ease to read, and under lining objective of the book. I found it hard to read to my 3yo due to the book not having a real “flow” to it, and I feel older children may feel overwhelmed by the chaos of the flow that they will not understand the theme. The illustrations were nice, and kept my 3yo engaged. I honestly wouldn’t recommend this book for more than that.

I'm all for books that promote friendship with everyone as opposed to bestsellers that preach vengeance to the "enemy". I see no "enemies...only friends. Hopefully you'll see things as I do when you read this to kids and maybe, just maybe, kids will see it too.

this was another gift from my mum when I was little, I was struggling a bit with making friends and being a bit fussy with who I already hung out with and this just helped me appreciate my friends a lot more.
