Being in the friend-zone sucks!

No one knows that better than Amarie Parker. She’s had a crush on her sexy-as-sin best-friend, Kit Iseman, since forever. But he is blind to her feelings… or pretends to be blind. Still, she stays his friend. Watching him date women who are too idiotic to realize how special he is. Desperately hoping that one day he will see her as more than just his sidekick.

However, the return of an old flame makes it clear that living as just his best-friend forever will break her. Now she has to make a hard choice… fight for him or cut him off completely.

Books. Books. Books.

I love looking at them, smelling them, reading them, carrying them, writing them.

I have an addiction. Someone help me.

I'll read anything from historical romance to fast action thrillers, gritty urban to fantasy.

When it comes to writing, I'm more of a romance gal. Expect admirable heroines, swoony gentlemen and some r-rated fun.

I am sure it wasn’t the writer’s best book. Just confused why the girl would hang and wait for her dick friend to finish sleeping around. Never understood that among girls

Great book! A true romance. Loved the chemistry between Amarie and Kit. Their story was written with such love, passion, and care. They worked for their HEA and I enjoyed the journey!

I’m not a big fan of best friends to lovers trope, but this works for me. In high school, childhood best friends hit a snag in their relationship when Kit’s crush sets her sight on him on the day that Amarie is going to confess her feelings for her best friend. Well—you already know, things don’t go as planned.

Fast forward 15 years later, Kit and Amarie are still best friends and Amarie refuses to upset the balance in their relationship with her feelings for Kit, so she suffers in silence. Kit’s life is drastically changed when his crush makes a surprise return. Amarie warns him that she wants him back, but he’s in denial. In the words of Amarie— I don’t do idiots. This time around Amarie refuses to lose the man that she loves.

When things threatens to blow up, I cracked up when Amarie tells her best friend and her rival—one of us is going to leave here with a black eye and it won’t be me. Yes, I do condone violence (it ain’t for everybody) under very specific circumstances! Different strokes folks, different strokes!

Highly Recommended: Read It!

It started on a good note but then went downhill. The ex, Piper, was such a focal point in the story: there was just too much of her and her irrational behaviour was just so off putting. At one point I was this close to DNF because Amarie had no self-respect. She stooped really low for Kit and it was really unpleasant to read. While she had a believing crush on her best friend, the said friend confession of his "love" for her just fell flat. That man didn't know she arborred feelings for him a few days prior and all of a sudden "he loves her". Don't even talk to me about how after the first few days of fucking he proposes to her. The story became so rushed, it didn't make sense.

Great Friends to Lovers Story

I really loved this story. Amarie loved Kit for 14 years and was so afraid of losing him as her best friend that she kept her feelings to herself. I understand how at 17 years old and ready to reveal her feelings only to be crushed caused her to be very cautious around Kit. I didn't like how Kit did Amarie when they were younger and I was getting mad at him as they were older when Piper resurfaced. I thought Kit was going to lose Amarie for good and fall into Piper's trap, but Kit became the man I though he was. Kit took control of the relationship because he knew Amarie wouldn't. I liked how Amarie didn't fight Kit much as he took control yet didn't change from who she was. I was happy to see them finally together because they were great as friends and would be so much more as husband and wife. A great read and one I definitely will revisit.

Much More

I have only read one other book by Ms. Verji. The book was exceptional but for some reason I didn’t venture any further. I
loved the blurb and the sample for More Than Friends. I started this morning and read for most of the day. Kit and Ri have been best friends for years....they truly loved each but never ventured pass the friend zone. They both had romantic feelings but feared to lose their connection if the romance didn’t make it. Almost as a catalyst, Kit’s former crazy girlfriend made an appearance. Will she rekindle with Kit or will the two friends take a chance on love and friendship? What do you think😜? This is one of those good books I was able to read for free but I purchased because I think it is JUST that good.

Amarie and Kit

Great read. Like childhood sweethearts but neither one wanted to cross the line into love and togetherness for fear of loosing their friendship of 14 years. Piper, the manipulative, lying trot tried to get Kit back after hurting him 8 years ago by marrying a doctor; lying that her father was dying of cancer and wanted to walk her down the aisle and the fiancé was a family friend. Finally when she couldn’t get Kit that way, she pretended to be sick, went to ER and made Kit her next of kin but Amarie went with him. Piper tried to best to humiliate Amarie and make Kit think that she, Piper, was the one for him. Didn’t work. Amarie and Kit are now getting married!

Friends to lovers

I wasn't really expecting to like it as much as I did. I've read a lot of friends to lovers books and although this book had some commonalities with others I was still a good read. Thought the writing and pacing of the story was done well.

This story follows Amarie and Kit two childhood friends. Amarie has been in love with Kit for twelve years but has always thought Kit didn't see her that way. Boy was she wrong there was a misunderstanding but I like that the author did have this longggggg drawn out. Second book from this author and I'm liking what I'm reading.

Great story that I wish could've been longer.

I gave this book a four star rating because there was mistakes throughout the book that made it kind of hard to understand what the author was trying to say. I love that both Kit and Amarie had feelings for each other but they both were afraid of stepping out of the "friend zone" and confessing the true everlasting love for each other. I'm glad that Kit and Amarie got their happily ever after in spite of an ex-girlfriend who was trying to do whatever it took to get Kit back and make Amarie's life very unhappy.

Took them long enough

That Piper was a delusional and crazy B. You have to be crazy to go after a guy just so as to hurt someone who refused to lie down and be bullied. Also Amarie deserved some of the blame for being so cowardly in not telling Kit how she felt and allowing Piper dig her class into Kit. I liked Kit and Amarue as friends and even more as a couple. Did not understand Pipers obsession and the length she was prepared to go but hey some people are so invested in the power of their beauty that they believe they are irresistible.

Finally- Spoiler Alert

So I have been reading romance novel such as this one for some time. And it seems that it take the female protagonist 15,000 words to realize her issue. Although the female lead was rigid and said the opposite of what she was feeling, I appreciate that finally an author gets it right. I appreciated that Amarie told Kit the shenanigans in real time. Also, with Piper medical plans Kit was smart enough to take Amarie. I hope the is a real life Kit in the world. Overall nice one to read.

A light read with a HEA

Storyline was ok, Kit's character was a bit too clueless in not piecing all the signs together in his and Amarie's friends to lovers saga. Amarie's was too weak in some places and placid/immature in others...like confessing "I like you" instead saying "I love you" after decades of unrequited love? FINALLY!! Kit saw Piper for who she really was/is makes you wonder what attributes he saw in her at all to begin with!! All and all I have to says it was a pleasant short read. Thank you

More Than Friends was cute!

I really liked this. I got the feels. A little corny but cute. I didn’t really understand why Ameria thought alot of the stuff Kit said he wasn’t serious or he was pranking her. I get it might be unbelievable but her thinking he would prank her in a situation about her feelings didn’t make sense to me. Also, why she even pit up with Piper at all. I get not fighting her because she grown and has a respectable profession but i feel she gave her too much leeway. Besides that i like the story.

Great book

I really enjoyed this story. I loved the characters and their roles in the story. Loved the chemistry between Amarie and Kit it was smoking hot! Piper had a whole lot of nerve and just plain crazy. Enjoyed how Kit handled Piper. Amarie was scared to come out of the friend zone but when she did the fireworks was awesome. I highly recommend this book and look forward to whatever Ms Verji is working on!

A love for a lifetime

Friends, sometimes do make the best lovers. Amarie and Kit were long time besties from a young age. Of course, there has to be a trouble maker. I say more like a stalker and manipulator to cause trouble.
I wanted to see a complete ending to this wonderful friends to forever. There was so much detail and desire for them to be together that the ending left me with Really! I wanted more.

Talk To Me

Kit and Amarie had been friends since they were seven years old. Amarie had been in love with Kit since she was fifteen years old. Just as she was about to confess her feelings, her arch nemesis Piper, swooped in and took him away. Piper ultimately broke Kit's heart then walked away without a backwards glance. Fast forward present day, Kit and Amarie are still close friends, but a snake is about to slither its way back into their garden of Eden...

Loved this!

Loved this book! It started out a bit slow but what a great read! However, that Popped girl should have been committed somewhere. She was definitely a stalker and crazy to boot! Kit was somewhat weak and stupid (for a lack of a better word)at times! How could he not recognize his own feelings as well as Amari's long ago!!! But once it finally came to light the book became a steam roller!!! Hot, hot, hot!!!

iffy

Idk how I felt about this book. Overall felt he settled for her bc his life didn’t turn out how we originally wanted. She’s more successful and if I’m being honest takes care of him.

**SPOILER**

If he never tore his ACL she would still be nothing more than a friend and he’d be living his best life with the ex…

Writing was good and enjoyed the story. I just hate seeing black women as second best.

Loved this book!

I absolutely love friends to lovers story! These friends completed each other and I'm happy they got it together! In my estimation, they took far too long to get Piper out of their lives! Should have called the cops on her tail, lol. I can't wait for the next book, Ms. Verji!

Whoa...

This was so good, I couldn't stop reading it. It was funny. Amarie and Kit were so good together. It was terrible that Kit hat to resort to being out right mean to Piper to get her to leave him alone. She wasn't nice to him when she broke up with him. This is the a book I would read again and again. It was that good to me. They had so much chemistry.

This was a really good book. Kit and Amari have a friendship that has lasted a long time. Thank goodness they decide to take the relationship to the next level. Of course there is an ex that doesn’t understand the word no but she eventually catches on. A good book that you won’t want to put down.

I liked it well enough

I did enjoy the story. The long-term friendship from childhood and their closeness and banter did make.me laugh at points. I thought the struggle with the nasty ex was tedious and went on longer than necessary, but maybe that is reflected the age of the H &h and was a device the author used to drive the conflict. The author did convey that the H was a cautious person and had to bring balance to or H but her constant questioning of his intent and if he was sure and the time she wanted to take, didn't give her insistence that no time was needed when she wanted him in bed, which was in the middle of her questioning him on his intent and holding back from committing. That too was tedious.

Great Read

It was slow for me at first, but after Piper came into play; it finally got moving for me. I chose this book because it had a biracial couple on the cover. I dig white men shunning the shady views of society for a black woman. I would recommend this book to others. Great job, Linda Verji! I'm looking for more of your books.

Sweet

Sometimes one just fancy a sweet, non problematic romance novel. This book fits the bill completely. Both Kit and Amarie were likable protagonists and there was just enough to keep me interested.

Overall I liked but it had some slow moments

I loved the dynamics been Amarie and Kit. Their hesitancy to go beyond their friendship was plausible though frustrating. And Piper served a purpose, although I wanted to hit her upside her head. But chapter 22 was long.

Aggravating!!!

Anmarie was very aggravating in this book. She worked my last nerve , which took some of the joy and fun out of the story. They both had enough issues that make you wonder if they should truly be together at all

Kit & Amarie

Quick, easy read. Good read. Amarie always liked Kit as more then a friend, but Kit seemed not aware of her as anything else. Years later getting rid of so old ex brings revelations.
