I do enjoy reading the books in this series and I love Jack, he's such a hapless human lol. There are some excellent plot twists in this book which of course I can't mention because of spoilers but fans can expect the usual snark, banter and fast-paced storytelling. I really like the emotional journey Jack goes on in these books - starting off to try and help save the human race to being propelled into space alone, to thinking he was the last ever human and having lost his wife. It's good stuff. The alien encounter in this book reminded me of Fuzzy Nation by Scalzi which is no bad thing. Glad to hear there will be more from these characters in the future.

Getting into its Stride

Develops the narrative and ideas from the first two books. The military strike teams were a bit one-dimensional in characterisation, and I’m confused that everyone seems to be Anglo-Americans on a fleet of ark ships escaping from the whole of Earth. Despite these flaws, an enjoyable read.

I have been reading this series from the start (always a good idea) and have loved the progress and development of the characters, from Tuner the not so tiny loveable automaton to our main man Jack the fleshie. In this instalment they end up having to all work together as a team even though they all struggle to figure out if it is even worth all the trouble. With Jack trying to help humanity because he remembers all the good traits that humans possess, only to be harshly reminded of the depths man will go to.
A cracking story told in a brilliant manner as always. I would thoroughly and wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone, unless of course they don't like brilliantly written Sci-fi, in which case they are missing out. So stop reading this drivel and go click buy, and if you haven't clicked on buy for the previous books in the series then WTH go, go, go.

More humans finally made it! However humans being humans want to come in guns blazing and claim a planet.

Jack is sent down to New Eden to find the unresponsive first contact teams. On New Eden he discovers a pacifist alien race, but the humans want the planet.
What follows is a race against time to stop the humans, protect the humans from making a huge mistake, and protect the peaceful aliens. 😩 stressful 🤣

Another fantastic chapter to Jack's journey. I really hope this series doesn't end any time soon.

Another solid entry to the Final Dawn series.

I enjoyed the change of pace in The New World; the first three books are a space epic, whereas The New World seems to start exploring what else the series can offer now it's established while still staying true to the world of The Final Dawn.

I can't wait to read the rest!

Chaos and mayhem seem to be Jack's lot in life. A familiar cast of characters is back for another new adventure. Humans! Jack is not alone. But maybe he hasn't been as alone as he thought. I don't recommend this as a stand-alone, character backstories make all the difference.

Another excellent read from this author, this is the 4th book in the series and you really need to read the books in order to understand the storyline.
This book continues from the previous one and Jack is back doing what he does best!

I really enjoyed this book. So nice to have Jack back with Rogan Tuner Klik and the ship Adeona. The adventures they get up to. Love this series and I can't wait for next book. 5*.

A thrilling ride through the galaxies that surround us. Anyone with an imagination will love the stories. Descriptive if a little blunt in places, and somewhat anachronistic ideas. But yep, humanity doesn’t come out smelling of roses!
