Book 4 - Cities in Chains: ⭐⭐ Not bad but I was bored Book 5 - Coast on Fire: ⭐⭐⭐ Ayee the world expands Book 6 - World Unbound: ⭐⭐⭐ Oeh, everyone going off-world now.
I expected a sci Fi fantasy story, what I didn't expect was ridiculousness In a world where strength aggression and owning and knowing how to use guns this author has the belief that gun hating pacifists could survive better than people that work hard labour jobs, go hunting and fishing in grizzly and Kodiak bear country a place where a hike through the woods is I'll advised without carrying a shotgun due to the aggression these bears are known for yet in this book they struggle and die while his pussy protagonist kicks ass and takes names while spouting the worst of the worst Left wing nonsense.
Well that's six books in and the story keeps developing , I'm really glad that the author skipped John's time on the forbidden planet as I simply have never like the guy from book one , he has no personality and he need to put more points in charisma , with hindsight it's no surprise the Chinese back stabbed the rest of mankind , it's what they would do , the one surprise in the series has been the omition of Russians as with their history of struggle and strife they would have been a powerhouse
This was a bit more politics, but I liked the action scenes, and it works well for the run-up to the election and in the larger scheme of things as well. John still has a lot of life left in him for the rest of the series, which should make things interesting for him and us.
The author continues on in his own way, powering up a hero as if he were an anime character. More sadness as earth continues to lose humans, and gain galactic adventurers and other types.
