As with the first three books of this series, I was hooked in right away and had trouble putting this book down! This is a great forbidden love/second chance/romance suspense that had me questioning what the heck was coming next, while having me swooning and fanning myself at the same time!
Queen Angela is professional elegance to the public and sassy, sexy woman who knows what she wants and takes it in the bedroom. I love that she can go toe-to-toe with her man and not take any shit.
Eddie is the brooding overprotective Guard for the Royal family that will give his life for one of theirs in a heartbeat. The challenge and push back he receives for Angela makes him crazy and turns him on.
A series of dangerous situations make them wonder who they can truly trust. The end result was not what I was expecting or thinking was going to happen. This story included bits and pieces of our favorite, King Antonio and Queen Larkin and gives us a better glimpse into the character of Princess Gabriela. I am looking forward to her story to come!

After reading the first three books in this series, I was eagerly waiting for this book, and C.R.Riley did not disappoint. I was instantly hooked. Angela may have been a queen, and a very professional woman in the public eye, yet she is also a strong, sassy and confident woman who knows exactly what she wants and how to handle herself. This book has everything from romance, love and suspense, with very intriguing characters.I highly recommend Her Royal Highness, as with all of the books in the Royals series.

This is a first time read for me by this author and I was given an ARC in exchange fir an honest review. That being said Holy Moly! What an absolute pleasure to read this book! I loved every minute of it. The story about a queen forced into an marriage she really didn’t want. She accepted it though and did everything she could to make it the best but her king was less than husband material. This book is about her finding love again with someone completely unexpected. This book will keep you on your toes until the bitter end. I got all the feels from this book! Make sure you bring your fan for the intense Spicy moments! I can’t wait to read the rest of this series especially Angela’s son the new King Antonio he sounds absolutely delicious 🤤

He loved her when she was queen, but resisted his attraction. He loved her when she was no longer queen, but still resisted out of loyalty to his king. But when she is in danger, his resistance is futile. C R Riley weaves a tale of second chances mixed with suspense involving strong characters, an intriguing plot, and a surprising ending. Well worth the read.

This book had me from the beginning! Edward is smoldering and protective, but Angela is no wall flower. She's strong and capable. I love seeing a strong female who can go toe-to-toe with her man. I'm also a sucker for people who were forced to stay apart because of their circumstances getting a chance to be together. There's the perfect amount of action and heat to keep you wrapped up in the story until the very end. I highly recommend Her Royal Highness!

Arc for honest review . Her Royal Highness ( The Royals ) C.R Riley Always delivers a fabulous read , she never Disappoints. From the minute I started reading Angela and Edwards story I knew I was going to be completely invested .. I binge read this In one sitting, it’s full of love , romance , suspense, adventure, stalking and so many twists and turns you will most definitely not see coming. What a beautiful love story .Angela and Edward have loved each other for years and have always been drawn to each other ( like never before . Unfortunately many obstacles have always been in the way of their being together ( like royal standings ) Angela may be a queen but oh boy does she have a mouth on her . When danger becomes part of Angela’s life ,Edward is determined to do anything he has to in order to protect the love of his life . Even if it means putting himself in imminent danger . There were so many emotions running through me while reading , almost like being on a emotional roller coaster. I highly recommend this book , it most definitely exceeded all my expectations ❤️💜

Her Royal Highness by C. R. Riley is part of The Royals series. It is a second chance, forbidden romance with a bit of suspense mixed in. Angela and Edward have loved each other for years, but their love was forbidden and Angela was forced to marry the King. Years later Angela has been humiliated by her husband and she leaves him. The love between Angela and Edward didn’t diminish over the years they were apart and when a dangerous situation causes them to spend time together, they have a second chance at love and their happily ever after.
This is the first book I’ve read by C. R. Riley and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Angela is a confident, strong woman who doesn’t back down when faced with a challenge. Edward is a protective Royal guard who has always loved and protected Angela from afar. These characters are older and it was refreshing to read a romance surrounding an older couple. This book held my attention from the beginning and there were so many unexpected twists and turns. The suspense and action had me hooked until the end and overall this was a great book!

The blurb drew me in and I loved the forbidden romance aspect of this one. I don't read too many romance novels that focus around couples in their fifties so this was refreshing. They loved each other for years and were drawn to each other like never before, but royal standings kept them apart. Years go by and when danger comes close to Angela, her protector and love of her life Edward will do his best to protect her against it all. She is a strong leading character in this and I loved her fierceness. I did have a bit of difficulty following the timeline in the beginning of this book, but once I figured it out it began to flow better for me. I appreciate the twists in this book and thought they were well done.

This is an amazing story of one woman's strength and a man's sense of responsibility. Edward has always put the crown first and held back from ever letting his queen know how he really felt. Angela is a woman who has been humiliated by her husband, but rather than run and hide, she stood her ground and held her head high. But when someone threatens her, she finds herself in strange and desperate place. Not one to ask for help, it takes Eddie watching, to realise something is wrong but as he tries to be the person she needs, it becomes very apparent they both need much more and he must make a decision that could change both their lives. This is a beautiful story with two very dynamic characters and the scenes between them sizzle off the page.

It is hard when you have fallen for a person, but your sense of duty precludes you from taking the step you want. Edward was in that spot. He loved a woman that he was bound to protect. Then when he had a chance, he still resisted out of respect.

I loved this book. As the matriarch of the family, Angela did not disappoint. Her and Edward were STEAMY and I enjoyed getting to know her backstory as well as his. They are so cute together but also had excellent banter and wittiness within their conversations to keep things light and fun while still having the main issue. Edward is kind and gentle and loves protecting and .... serving Her Royal Highness ;)
This installment of the Royals was a lot more steamy and sexual then the 1st 3 but it works, as a older couple they would have more experience and all and if definitely shows. The author really blended the sex into the story, it didn't feel forced or out of place.

I found C R Riley last year and I really enjoy all of her books. This one is no exception and is a great addition to the series. I binge read this in one sitting.
This book is fantastic and will take you on an suspenseful adventure of hidden love, desires, stalking and an unexpected outcome. The characters are so well detailed and delivered..it really is a beautiful love story.

Edward is a guard for the Royal family and will protect them all regardless of how they treat him. He has been made aware of a situation that needs his attention that will force him and Queen Angela to spend time together.

I stumbled across CR Riley earlier this year. She writes some amazing stories. I plowed through this series and was anxiously awaiting book 4 to come out. She did NOT disappoint! Loved reading about Angela’s challenges as she became queen and mother to 4 kids, one who becomes King. Definitely recommend this book and series!

Such a great addition to the series! It was so nice to get Angela’s story. Edward and Angela had amazing chemistry and the mystery of the stalker was so suspenseful! I highly recommend this book and the whole series! It can be read as a standalone or as part of the series.

Love love love this series!
This whole series has different style for each Book and this one is no different and did not disappoint. CR Riley is my hands down go to author. I love her Books so much because she writes the hard subjects. I have to say this one is sooooooo good and steamy. The twists and turns kept me reading. I think this is one of CR Rileys steamier books.
Angela and Sir Edward have a past that was put on hold, will they be able to find their way back to each other or will who they are ultimately stand in their way? This is a 5💥 must read. Be sure to read this series in order though to get the full effect. I can't wait for book 5 coming soon. 😍

What a fab book, a fantastic mix of second chance love and suspense!
Angela although no longer queen but still every bit a royal. Edward - protective and completely in love with Angela but every bit loyal to his position.
When danger comes Edward knows he will do anything to keep Angela safe even if his life is put on the line.
This story caught my attention from the get go and throughout did not disappoint. The ending 😮 was not what I expected!

Romance, steam, strong AMAZING heroine, plus a unique twist around the modern day day royal family all combined to make this one of favorite readcations of the year!

A love from afar finally coming to fruition. Great story, plot, and a second twist! Read it one go! My only issue is it took me a minute to understand what age these characters are but the story is so well written I couldn't give it less than 5 stars. Will definitely be reading more of C. R. Riley's stories.
