A serial killer is living in the heart of London. The killer's mission, to free the city of its depravity. Detective Inspector Rod Cain has recently returned to duty after the death of his wife. For him these are challenging times as he tries to hold himself and what’s left of his family together. DCI Cain is in the process of convincing his superiors that he is capable of running his old unit again when a woman’s body is discovered. DCI Cain and his unit are at a loss over the woman’s murder. Whoever was responsible had been careful and methodical. The lack of evidence following such a violent crime disturbed DCI Cain. As he delves deeper into the case, a check on previous unsolved murders highlights a disturbing pattern. Is it real or in his mind? If Cain is correct, a serial killer has been operating in London for years. First, he will have to convince his colleagues and then catch the killer before they strike again. That is one fact he knows for sure. But DCI Cain will need to work fast before his own demons envelope him. If not, he knows that he will be removed from the investigation, allowing the killer to continue their reign of terror.
