I read this in my senior seminar about Lady Mary Shepherd. She does a good job arguing against Hume and other philosophers in this essay. While I can't say I'm convinced by her argument for cause and effect being the same thing, I'm not entirely against it either. Brilliant woman. She needs to be more noticed in the philosophical community.

A good and thorough dissection of Hume’s treatise.
