1. Morning and night time healthy affirmations, we must constantly remind ourselves who we are as black men, men of color. 2. Practice night time self forgiveness prayers. Many of us develop unhealthy relationships with perfection and must learn to forgive self & others. 3. Reminders to protect and collaborate with woman. 4. Be mindful of how behaviors we’ve normalized contribute to the gender wars.
Overall, I’d say I love this approach. There are very few books geared towards men’s mental wellness. While this is highly spirtual and repetitive. There are warm and empowering words of affirmation and acceptance. Which is refreshing and gives me ideas for my own healing tools I want to create for men in the future.
For men, I do think pairing this with therapy will be very powerful. As I think very few man can heal all on their own and shouldn’t put that entire burden upon our woman.
Great book.. a must for those who want to improve themselves and own their manhood. Its basically a man-ual that has some suggestive steps on care and well being. Very practical with study sections and questions to ponder on.
