STORY:
I really struggle with rating this book. I enjoyed it, but had buts, and it was quite a few. This is dark, and it’s not your typical romance. Because this is a quick read, I love that the story dives in immediately, so much so, when I started I felt as though I dive in the middle of the story. For me, this isn’t a bad thing as I was able to follow the story and was not confused by it either, however, the anticipation was building waiting to see how this story will play out. I can’t speak much on the main characters because I might spoil the story for others.
Some buts. I respect when an author doesn’t do POV books, but I felt that because there are so many characters at play POV was needed. But then again, maybe having POV for certain characters would give away the mystery. I felt like I could have rated this with an extra star, but my big reason was the ending. I liked the Epilogue and Murphey got her HEA, but I personally don’t feel satisfied with the ending. Again, discussing this I am giving away the book and don’t want to ruin the mystery of it for someone else. I will say, I felt as though the epilogue should have been an additional chapter as I wanted to see them and to enjoy more of them for a chapter or two with all they have been through.
CHEMISTRY:
Physically, wanted more. Has Daddy theme sexually as well. This is a very dark BDSM or as I would call it BDSM adjacent. It’s almost like seeing the bad side of BDSM. There are triggers. There maybe a particular scene that some will find disturbing so be prepared.
SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
I feel crazy for saying this but the chemistry between Alaska and Joey was amazing. I honestly did not want to go back to the main focus of the story because I wanted more of them. The author gave us a good tease with them and just as it started it abruptly ended. Not sure if a story was meant to be taken from this, but Alaska and Joey needs to be explored more and given their own story.
OVERALL, again, I really did like this story, but even with an HEA, I don’t feel satisfied enough.

To Crave and Covet by Rachel Blake is a dark mafia romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Blair Dade, Sean Duregger, and Craig A Hart.
This book comes with a note "The stories in the Black Rose Collection are considered dark romance. Some aspects may be sensitive for some listeners."
This is the first book of Rachel's that I have read and it definitely won't be my last. The suspense kept me hooked and I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next.
Blair, Sean, and Craig did a great job on the narration. They really brought the story to life. I can't wait to listen to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you like dark romances, mafia romances, romantic suspense, or captive romances.

Not one to normally read really dark romance, I was intrigued by this story. It was confusing at times but as the story unfolded, the confusion makes perfect sense. Murphy was kidnapped and on the way to where they were taking her, was involved in a wreck. She lost her memory and over the next few years was told she was Stefano's wife. Their relationship was sort of creepy in as the way he treated her and while she came to get off on it, things were slowly falling into place. Every time I thought I had this figured out, a twist showed up and threw that thought out the window. The story kept me on the edge of my seat as I had to know what was going on. Other people were involved and when the whole story came out, I was sort of blown away. Yes, it's dark but I realized not that dark that I couldn't read it! Ms. Blake has written a story that I would love to see more of. Don't pass this one up!!

This is the first book I've read by Rachel Blake and what a representation of her work this one turned out to be!! 'To Crave and Covet' is part of the "Leave Me Reckless: Black Rose Collection" and is one very dark and delicious, intensely twisted story. There are so many mind-bending plot twists I can't give you much in the way of a synopsis without giving things away. I can tell you that the heroine, Murphey, has lost her memory after being in an accident while being kidnapped. She's told Stephano is her husband and seems to be in control of her thoughts and actions. There are scenes in the book that may not be for everyone so use your best discretion of what your triggers are. This absolutely was a must read for me and I'll definitely be following more of this author's work.

This is a great addition to the “Leave Me Breathless” series, each book in this series is a standalone and one of the things they have in common is how they leave you breathless, each in their very own way. Rachel Blake is a gifted author with a fabulous writing style, the story she created is interesting, original, dark, intense and filled with some surprising twists and turns that will bring you to the edge of your seat. A car accident left Murphey without her memory, she had to rely on her husband, Stefano, to let her know who she was. She was his submissive, she played along but she was not happy about it, especially the Daddy/girl relationship and scening. She felt he was holding her back from gaining her memories but she had little freedoms to find out what she wanted to know. Her one friend, Alaska, did what she could, she knew that Stefano was not a nice person. This is one thrilling romantic suspense, the story is fast-paced, and the author does a great job keeping you in the dark of what is really going on and keeps you wondering if Murphey will get her memories back or not. All gets revealed spectacularly, and it is so worth the wait for it. Rachel Blake, thank you for another awesome story!

They did a great job bringing these characters to life, humanizing them, giving each their own distinct voice, making it easy to follow and tell who is who. Their portrayal of the characters is spot on and they had a complete understanding of each role they played, sounded believable and just as I pictured they would sound. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. I am struggling a little to write this review if I am being honest. I am a HUGE fan of dark romance stories. BDSM isn't really my jam, but I am not opposed per se, and I have a very "to each their own philosophy". Having said all of that, the blurb for To Crave and Covet had me definitely intrigued, and I listened to the audiobook, which I think was very well done. The book definitely started off fast and continued with lots of action, drama, twists and turns and jaw-dropping, eye-widening moments. The book is written to definitely keep the reader guessing up until the very end and it had me invested the whole time wanting the full story and hoping Murphy would get her memory back, and ultimately her HEA.
I liked that Murphy had a friend she could rely on and that was advocating so much for her and to try and get her to see her situation differently. I really liked Alaska and the scene toward the end with her and Joey has me hoping there is a future for them because they had some smoking hot chemistry in the midst of their danger. I am not going to lie, Stefano and pretty much everything about his relationship with Murphy made me cringe, including his need for her to call him "Daddy". I do think overall the story was intriguing and well written, but it seemed quick and possibly a little too fast-paced. The ending seemed to happen very quickly and I would have liked to see a little bit more. This is my first book by the author so I would definitely be interested in reading or listening to some other work of hers to see how it compares to this book.

When it comes to romance, I like mine dark; the grittier and hotter, the better. I get a rush out of the unpredictability and the suspense; it literally gets my heart pounding, wondering what will be next. To Crave and Covet: Leave Me Breathless definitely delivered; it's was sensual, steamy with strong segments of BDSM and rough play. The storyline is deliciously dark, mysterious, violent, intense, suspenseful, exciting, and wholly riveting. As the story unfolded, I found myself completely enthralled by the highly complex characters and intricate events. As for the ending, it was fantastic; the missing pieces came together with a possibility of more.
Rachel Blake has weaved a captivating tale, taking her readers/listeners on an exceptionally twisted ride. She has broken boundaries with her phenomenal character development and dark imagination. Without a doubt, I will continue to either read or listen to more of her work.
The narration by Blair Dade, Sean Duregger, and Craig A Hart was spot on! They slipped into each character, capturing the intensity of the emotions and chemistry, further engaging the listeners. All in all, To Crave and Covet was a gratifying listen, one I'll highly recommend.

Intense and dark To Crave and Covet plays with consent and how far is too far when it comes to punishment. I listened to this book in a day, not releasing how quickly I was absorbed in it. I liked the ending but also wanted more. There were a lot a characters, none of whom had backstories fleshed out so I didn't really root for anyone. Despite the story being finished, a lot was left open. It seemed like a spotlight only on the time of the story but the past and future were nonexistent which left me feeling unsatisfied.

This novel in the Black Rose collection of the Leave Me Breathless books and it is one very dark and intensely twisted story. Sometime Ms. Blake scares me with the twisted tales she writes.
To Crave and Covert is a wonderful delicious twisted dark tale with well-developed characters with fantastic dialogue and expressive action scenes. There are little inklings that will make the reader question what they are reading. I was completely mesmerized and totally sucked into this book.
This story is full of intrigue, suspense, drama, action, violence, discipline, BDSM, danger, secrets, obsession, manipulation, steamy rough sex, and twists that will leave the reader on the edge of their seat until the last page hoping against hope their gut instinct is correct.
Hint, hint to the author - I look forward to the continuation of Kross and Murphey romance and hopefully Alaska, Korey, Tink, or any of the other MC members will get their stories as well.

This was an intensely dark and twisted story by Rachel Blake. Be prepared because this book will have you on the edge of your seat, keep you on your toes and have you biting your nails with the constant intrigue, drama, mystery and very, very intense BDSM scenes. It is very sinful and almost too decadent as it as twist after twist of a manipulation of our lead female Murphey who has lost her memory after a car accident after she had been kidnapped. Murphey is married to Stefano (or is she) and Stefano is a very sinister character to say the least. Murphy is a very strong woman but the life she lives is Stefano most certainly leaves a lot to be desired even though the darkness and BDSM is a turn on for Murphey. I cannot wait to read more about these characters and get closer to the truth about Murphey’s existence and her life. A great story and very well written by Ms Blake which only adds to the attraction of this book.

The Leave Me Breathless world has definitely caught my attention. This is the third book I have listened to and it has left me breathless! And not in a way you may think. We meet Murphey who has been in an accident. Her husband Stefano has been by her side every minute, and with her loss of memory, she accepts whatever he says. Their relationship is dark and dominant, Stefano is extremely manipulative. Alaska, Murphey's best friend is there for her, and we see just how dark and twisted Stefano can be. There is a lot going on in this short, and I hope that we get to see more of Kross, Murphey, Joey and Alaska!
Narration for this story is fantastic. Blair Dade, Sean Duregger and Craig A Hart bring it all to the table with emotions, and darkness. They made for an exciting and vivid depiction of the characters creating the world in my mind. A very suspenseful and thrilling listen.

Fast paced story
I read this via my ku subscription and am leaving my review voluntarily. This is b4 in the Leave Me Breathless Series but can be read as a standalone.
Triggers:
bdsm elements, kidnapping, murder, physical abuse
Spoilers:
Murphey, told she was in a car accident and needed surgery. but she has nightmares and begins questioning what she "remembers" with the help of her friend.
Stefano, Murpheys husband. Mafia don. He is very controlling and harsh with her. He punishes her as he sees fit all under the guise of a bdsm relationship. He really doesn't want her to remember anything of her past.
and then there is Kross. Part of the local MC. see's Murphey in a club and thinks he knows her.
I enjoyed the story. It had some mystery to it, sexy time, MC and Mafia characters. You are left to guess there is a HEA.

Stefano, Murpheys husband. Mafia don. He is very controlling and harsh with her. He punishes her as he sees fit all under the guise of a bdsm relationship. He really doesn't want her to remember anything of her past.
and then there is Kross. Part of the local MC. see's Murphey in a club and thinks he knows her.
I enjoyed the story. It had some mystery to it, sexy time, MC and Mafia characters. You are left to guess there is a HEA.

The only thing she knows is what she's told, that shes married to Stephano, the dark and punishing stranger who ties her up and spanks her hard. His words tell her that she loves him while her nightmares tell her theres something she desperately needs to remember and fast. This book as an awesome twist and it isnt until she meets Cross in a Club that she begins to realise what it is.
Narrated in trio by Blair Dade, Sean Duregger and Craig A Hart they do an expert job in bringing this short novella to life.
Rachel Blake did a fantastic job in packing as much action into this story and I can't wait to see if she expands onto another one with Alaska etc later on.

The warning of dark romance didn't really prepare me for the story Ms. Blake tells; the dark romance genre isn't one I thought I'd like but this book captured all of my attention. I didn't know what to expect but the way this story played out kept me on my toes! Just when I thought I had an idea of what was to come I was thrown another curve. To say I need more of Murphey is an understatement! This submissive but strong, amazing woman is so easily relatable but her life is not one to always be jealous of. Ms. Blake's writing draws you in and you feel with and for the characters as their lives play out; it made me felt like another friend trying to help Murphey through her troubles. If you are on the fence about reading this book I recommend you take the jump!

Deliciously dark and intense
To Crave & Covet by Rachel Blake is part of the multi-author Leave Me Breathless series. I have read several books by this author but this one was a bit different, at least to me. The story is a twisted and dark "romance" which definitely takes the reader on a ride that you don't quite expect. Just when you think you have things sorted out some new nugget is given that changes it all again. The story-line is filled with drama, intrigue, suspense, mystery, action, danger and then mixed in are BDSM, discipline, sizzling steamy smexy passion and more.
Be warned that there are some potential triggers and this book may not be for every reader but it is a really interesting and riveting read.

This is a very different kind of dark romance so be prepared for that when you read it. I don’t want to give anything away because it really is a good story but be prepared for twists that you won’t expect. There was a lot of steam but I had a hard time reading some of it once you start to guess what’s going on in the story.

I'm gonna try to write this review without giving the good stuff away, but that's gonna be hard! Rachel Blake did a great job weaving some serious twists.
Murphy knows she lies her husband Stefano, but something just feels off.
She can't remember anything except the last 2yrs and her husband doesn't want her to "strain" herself. Her best friend Alaska is spunky and wants nothing but to help her recover those memories.
Does she dig deeper, see why she keeps having these nightmares? Does she push to see if she truly recognizes that man from the club? Or should she just leave well enough alone and live her pampered life with "Daddy".
The last chapter had me doing some serious cheering at my kindle.

What can I say! This short listen had it all! The suspense, the unknown, the sex...it was simply brilliant. The only thing I didn't care for was him making her call him Daddy. Although I know this happens, it makes me cringe. Outside of that, I enjoyed the mystery and the sweet revenge in the end. Let me say, the moments where he punished her broke my heart. But if I'm being honest, it aroused me. That is one of the things I love about a book...the ability to make me feel and to draw out things in me I didn't know were there. That's what this book did for me. I'm all for pain with pleasure, but how far is too far? I found myself biting my lip at the thought of being punished to a degree beyond my boundaries. I truly enjoyed this read and look forward to reading more from Rachel.

Wow!! This was a great read. Mind twisting and dark. Murphey can’t remember anything of her past. She just remembers the past two years. She knows her husband Stefano and a few others. Her husband doesn’t want her to remember because he is trying to protect her when he couldn’t before. I don’t want to say more and give anything away. I will tell you, the twists in this will blow your mind. I was thinking I had it figured out, then I would be taken to another thought. I sure did like the characters and this storyline. I hope there is more on them. Don’t pass this up. I love these stories from the Leave You Breathless collection.

This is the devilishly dark and twisting story of Murphy and Stefano! Afrer being taken Murphy ends up in an accident where she loses her memory, waking up shes told Stefano is her husband, though over time things don't add up for Murphy but the closer she gets to the truth the deeper she ends up in Stefano dark world. This is well written with many twists and turns, the story keep you on your toes and invests loads of emotions.

This book brings us Stephano, Murphey, Alaska and Kory. Murphey was in a horrible car accident and lost her memory. The only memories she has are the ones that Stephano has told her. He is in control of her thoughts and actions, and all Murphey knows is that she thinks she loves him. One night, while that are at a club, she thinks she recognizes a man, but doesn't know who he is. That man is Kory. Kory is under the assumption that she died in that car accident. What unfolds, you must read. This is a great read and I do recommend it. I did receive an arc for an honest review.

He takes her to a BDSM club. There, she sees a face that seems familiar. Who is he? The more she tries to find out about her accident and past, the more danger she is in.
This story is dark , intense, twisted and full of mystery.

This was my first Rachel Blake's book, and won't be my last. This story is part of the Black Rose Collection. This is a DARK mafia romance, breathtaking, filled with danger, intrigue, and twists and turns. Impossible to put it down. The world building is intricate, and captivating. The supporting characters are great and intriguing. Blair Dade, Sean Duregger, and Craig A Hart did an amazing job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Loved the book it was great, the story was written well and the characters were interesting. This story was so full of emotions that you feel while reading. After an accident she has amnesia so she believes the man at her bedside is her husband, she tries looking into things hoping she does not get caught. This story is full of intrigue, suspense, drama, action, darkness, violence, discipline, BDSM, danger, secrets, obsession, manipulation, steamy rough sex, and twists that you feel like you need more.

The relationship between her and Stephano raises more questions than answers especially when he is determined to control ever detail of her life.

This dark and twisted mafia tale kept me on the edge of my seat until the last page. It features Murphy, who was kidnapped after agreeing to go undercover to disclose a female slave trafficking ring, and Stefano, who she is told is her husband after a car crash during her kidnapping. Her story is one of abuse by Stefano until she reclaims her memory one day. This is an intense read with well defined characters and a dark twisted storyline.

A well written, perfectly narrated dark, mafia romance. I loved the twists and how everything comes together. I loved the strong main characters and the mystery surrounding Murphy. i also really enjoyed how important concent in the bdsm lifestyle is. While there was a HEA, I'm left with some questions and wanting more. I also felt like we got a bit of as teaser on another couple to emerge.
