Gabe & Ella’s Second Chance Romance Pairs An Idealistic Environmentalist With An Ambitious & Egotistical Billionaire. They Parted Ways On Bad Terms After College, But Seven Years Later Find Themselves Needing To Work Together On A Proposal To The D.C. Governor’s Office.

ABOUT THE BILLION DOLLAR PACT SERIES:

This is the first book in a new series that follows a group of four college guys who make a pact at graduation. This is Gabe Boulder’s second chance story. It opens in late fall in D.C.

The Plutus Society was formed by Aston, Chase, Logan, and Gabe, all ambitious as they prepare to conquer the world after college. They each went their separate ways, but their pact ensures they don’t lose touch. They each embark on their own journey to becoming a billionaire by age thirty. They agree to celebrate their thirtieth birthdays together, and Aston is the first to reach that milestone. In this book, the four bachelors gather at Aston’s home to celebrate their achievements.

Aston was always wealthy, so he had less to prove than his friends. He teaches at Harvard and might have been the most likely to be married with a family by now, but there was apparently someone in his life which nearly cost him his job. As the book closes he is the least likely to have a date.

Chase helped Gabe set up a legal technology platform after college, assisting with coding and staffing. He then took off for the West Coast and Silicon Valley where he has pursued other tech ideas. He is fiercely competitive and like to try new things.

Logan is the rebel of the bunch, the bad boy. He is covered in ink. He typically has weed on him, even today. His friends are afraid to ask how he got his wealth, assuming it is something below the law. Logan is bold and outspoken, and free to give his opinion. He seems least interested in settling down.

IN THIS BOOK:

Gabriel Boulder, twenty-nine, made his fortune after college when he founded, along with his friend Chase’s help, a legal technology platform. He has since stepped back from running the company, though he retains his seat on the board and his stock holdings in the company. He made a killing in the stock market with the windfall he made from the platform, transforming millions into billions. He has since taken a turn to politics – something that always interested him. He doesn’t hold a political office, but rather works in government service. Gabe loves to be the center of attention, so this little detour isn’t entirely selfless. He may one day run for office himself. It is all about visibility. Today, however, he works as an attorney advisor for the governor’s office. He deals with the legal aspects of proposals that make their way through the system. Green ideas are often idealistic, but Gabe has the expertise to help understand where they fall short in terms of practicality.

In the years since college, he has lived life in the fast lane with hard work, huge financial gains, galas, and a ritzy lifestyle. He hates attending events, but it is part of the game. He always takes a different date along so as to ensure nobody – his dates included – reads anything into the girl on his arm. He treats his dates to a glamorous evening and enjoys their company afterward, then happily moves on to the next. It was exciting for a while, but the novelty has worn off. His friends are all single, but he is starting to wonder if he wants something more. Someone to share his life with, to enjoy everything he worked so hard to earn.

Ella Whitt, twenty-eight, is fiercely independent and is as fiery as her red hair might suggest. She can be rather headstrong and is tenacious when she sets her mind on something. She is a dreamer, and idealist, but her ideas sometimes get in the way when it comes to practical matters. She devotes her life to saving the environment and tries to live up to the what she preaches. After college on the East Coast, she headed west to Berkeley for graduate school. It was the best program for her career of choice – environmental policy making. Her dream job was with the EPA, but that hadn’t panned out. Her idealism ended up costing her job a few years ago, when she became a whistleblower on her boss. She wasn’t about to stand back and watch what went down without speaking up, but she found out the hard way that whistleblowers don’t have it easy. She finally got a break two months ago and moved to D.C., where she was offered an unpaid internship at a job she loves, reporting to Mrs. Glenn at the World Resources Institute. She shares a rundown apartment with a near penniless roommate as she herself tries to skirt by on her savings. Ella hopes and prays that she can prove her worth and be offered a position on staff once her six month internship ends.

When Ella realizes that Gabe Boulder will be attending the important meeting at which she will presenting – a meeting critically important if Ella stands a chance of landing a paying job – she panics. He hadn’t been happy with her when she moved to Berkeley, and it will be their first time seeing one another in seven years. He doesn’t seem pleased that she is at the meeting, and Ella’s big chance becomes a disaster. Mrs. Glenn is none too happy, but gives her one opportunity to save her chances for a job. She must work with Gabe Boulder to salvage their proposal, otherwise her unpaid internship will end in nothing.

When Gabe heads to Boston to celebrate Aston’s birthday with his buddies, they all warn him to stay away from Ella after hearing about their chance meeting. Gabe admits he is tired of dating and wants a challenge. He hopes to find someone to share all his success with, and suggests a new pact. A pact to find wives to share their wealth with. Though Logan is slow to come around, they all eventually agree, though it is true that none are sober at the time. But the guys gang up on Gabe and add an additional stipulation just for him: it must be anyone but Ella.

Gabe and Ella were an item throughout college. They had an arrangement. They had a friends with benefits agreement that was meant to expire at graduation. They refused to put a label on what they had, but it worked for them. Gabe had never admitted it, but he eventually fell in love. For the last year he had struggled as she played cat and mouse, periodically pulling away. His friends never really approved of her – Logan especially. Though it shouldn’t have been a complete surprise, Ella took their agreement at face value and announced before graduation that she was leaving the East Coast to attend graduate school at Berkeley. It was the best program for what she wanted to study. Gabe was heartbroken but he never tried to stop her.

Ella always challenged him, unlike the quiet dates he has suffered through since. It made their romps more exciting, and her submission so rewarding. But her departure from his life still stings, and his friends know he is stuck, too. They urge him to move on, and he knows it is the best thing to do. When she suddenly reappears, he isn’t prepared for the rush of memories and feelings their encounter stirs up, and yet he cannot allow himself to fall victim to Ella’s whims once again. He agrees to work with her on the failed proposal, but only because he senses that her job might be riding on it. They have a lot of unresolved issues between them, and emotions are high on both sides. They each overstep a little, and they are both prone to overreacting. The couple eventually earns a happy ending.

There are a few issues that merit mention. First, Gabe works for the governor’s office in D.C., but unless I am mistaken, there is no “governor” in D.C. There is a mayor. Nevertheless, in theory it works. Next, the group and Ella all graduated seven years ago, and it is implied that Gabe has a law degree because he got his law license in D.C. a few years ago and he works as an ‘attorney advisor.’ He also has his legal technology platform. Three years of law school only leaves him with four years to develop the platform, get his company off the ground, make a fortune in the stock market, and go into government service. It is hardly enough time to become a billionaire, not to mention his career achievements. In another point, Gabe might love to be the center of attention, but he changes when around his friends. He seeks their advice and approval, not entirely confident in himself. Perhaps that is the point of it, that his confidence is a façade, but it still feels a little too much. Logan practically walks all over him. Gabe might say he doesn’t listen, but his interactions with his friends paint him as weak in comparison. Their dynamic doesn’t feel authentic if Gabe truly thinks for himself.

It becomes very apparent why Gabe and Ella never worked out. They were both young and immature. They were greatly lacking in communication skills. Ella was on the flighty side. She suffers from panic attacks, so that makes sense. Gabe’s friends consider her flaky. Logan claims she used him, though I don’t see that. But Gabe had never fully invited her into his life, and for her to stay and sacrifice her dreams for him would have been a huge mistake on her part. She did the right thing by leaving under those circumstances.

What Gabe’s friends failed to see was that Gabe was flaky, too, when it came to Ella. His friends were obviously more important to him than she was. She knew his friends, but they never embraced her. She had every right to feel used. Gabe used her, fell for her, expected her to stay, but never gave her a reason to. He let her walk away. So while his friends might have been tired of hearing Gabe’s heartache over losing Ella for seven years, they failed to point out to him that he had completely blown it with her. They might have suggested he hop on a plane and see if maybe he could work things out with her. Instead they blamed everything on Ella.

*Spoilers* Gabe’s friends, then and now, got in the way of Gabe’s desire to be with Ella. I had waited to see him finally stand up to them, but it sort of worked out in the reverse. I presume it works for Gabe and Ella in the long run, but it would have been nice to see Gabe finally come to his senses and fix things on his own. Ella did a better job of coming around, though it would have been nice to hear more about her getting past her flightiness and being ready to settle down. Her insecurities are likewise glossed over. This is their story, but Logan shows hints of growth. It would have been more meaningful if it came from Gabe and Ella, though.

Gabe and Ella’s second chance romance pairs an idealistic environmentalist with an ambitious and egotistical billionaire. They parted ways on bad terms after college, but seven years later find themselves needing to work together on a proposal to the D.C. governor’s office. Their story is intriguing. The ARC copy has an occasional editing issue, but is not too bad. The wording is often clunky and awkward, which can slow you down a bit. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Gabe and Ella. I rate this book 3.5 stars.

I received an advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

So I am a huge fan of Linnea May's and have been for a very long time. Billion Dollar Chance is her newest book, and I have to say it is one of her tamest. Although I highly enjoyed Billion Dollar Chance and couldn't put it down.

Gabe and Ella are old lovers that haven't seen each other in a long time. Gabe is an arrogant man that takes what he wants when he wants it and damns the consequences. Ella wants to save the world and Gabe is the one standing in her way.

When Gabe offers to help Ella with her project and they start walking down the path of their past, old feelings come rushing back for the two of them. Each one of them will have to get over their past mistakes to possibly make a new future.

I can't wait to see what awaits us with the other men in this series.

Pacts and second chance ❤love❤!!!!

Billion Dollar Chance it's the first installment in Linnea May's new series and a very enjoyable read! It all started with a first pact between the Plutus boys and the a second one within the same group of friends. Ella and Gabe were an item during College years, in a kind of/not so much 'relationship' with benefits, but never assumed the status of boyfriend/girlfriand, even though their feelings were hard and real, a 'deal' meant to end upon graduation, since they professional orientations and ideals were different from each other.
Seven years later, the couple reconnects in a work circumstance on opposite sides of the barricade as well as very dissimilar life situations: Gabe as a well succeded billionaire before he turned 30 and Ella as a struggling professional trying to find her ground and stability. Their sentiments are still there and ready to flourish once again and since the boys' first pact was achieved and a new one ensues, another challenge kicks off, even if the boys are adamant regarding its seriousness.
It was extremelly interesting and funny to see all the shenanigans the MCs used to deny their passion and, at the same time, enjoying each other's company and secrets (not so much) trysts. It was bound to happen.
I loved the secondary characters as well and the specs of information regarding their background, an opening to their future role as a MCs in their own story that I'm so curious about.
A great read on the lighter side, but with the same excellence that Linnea got us used to.

I received an ARC and this is my voluntary review. All opinions are my own.

First in a new series of four guys who make up The Plutus Society, the god of wealth
Naturally, after reading THE BILLION DOLLAR PACT I wanted to read the ARC of BILLION DOLLAR CHANCE from Ms. May. This first book follows Gabe and Ella who had a friends-with-benefits arrangement in college on the brink of graduation. The guys: Gabe, Logan, Chase and Aston had made a pact to become billionaires by the time they turned 30yo. Loved the premise of this story, each being a standalone. In the prequel, THE BD PACT we start off with a very passionate scene between Gabe and Ella and it continues somewhat in BDC. We just have to get them back in the same room first! Through very clever ministrations, Ms. May did eventually get them back together and WOW…fireworks! Ella is a very independent woman but she likes to be dominated in the “bedroom” which satisfies Gabe. Those scenes are very passionate and steamy.
Like I said, I like the premise. I liked the ending. But what I didn’t like were several places where a word was missing and when that word is a verb…how do I know what they were intending to do, say, whatever? I hope that is cleaned up in the final version. Also, the timeline bothered me somewhat because within 7 years we are to believe that Gabe became a lawyer, a legal app developer, stock investor and finally a billionaire. I guess it could be done but the logic seems skewed. Even with all that, quite enjoyed the book. I hope the next book gets all the verbs in. They are kind of important! I volunteered to review an ARC of this book and recommend it.

Ella Whitt and Gabe Boulder were an item during their last year of college. When they graduated Ella moved across the country to earn her graduate degree. Gabe was unhappy with her decision, but he set out to win the bet he made with his closest friends. They all planned to be billionaires before they turned thirty. Seven years later Ella is back, and she needs his help. Gabe had very strong feelings for Ella, and now that she is back in his life he is going to do his best to get her back into his bed. Ella also had strong feelings for Gabe, but she is a stubbornly independent young woman with values that, to her, are polar opposite to his. Gabe is a man with more money than he can ever spend, and a take charge kind of guy who sees no problem with throwing money at any problem that needs solved, he too is very stubborn and when he wants something he goes after it with single minded determination. He wants Ella.
Beautifully well written, complicated, and realistic characters, I thought they were absolutely fascinating. I thought this is an original story about a complicate relationship, and with a twist I didn't see coming, so I was engrossed in this book from the first page to the last. Fantastic book!

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Gabriel Boulder and Ella Whitt have history, a lot of history. Years ago, they were in collage together and in a relationship together. Then Ella left for graduate school far away from Gabe taking a chunk of his heart with her. Fast forward to a meeting where Ella is to present an environmentally sound plan for the company she interns for. Seeing Gabe, a now prestigious and wealthy lawyer at the meeting completely throws her off rendering her speechless and putting her internship and future in jeopardy. Her boss tasks her with working with Gabe to get him to change his unfavorable opinions about their proposal. Gabe takes the opportunity to get to know Ella again, sparks fly, emotions are inflamed, and fun ensues. Gabe wants to see where things take them, he wants to provide Ella with what she needs, Ella wants to remain her independent self not depending on anyone else taking care of herself and working to save the environment. Can these two reach a compromise and find their HEA in an environmentally friendly way?

Excellent book!

This is the story of Gabe & Ella. Gabe is a billionaire and impulsive and arrogant. Ella is very stubborn and independent and tends to run away instead of facing things. They met in college, had a purely sexual relationship, even though they loved each other. That was seven years ago. She had left for the West Coast, leaving him behind. Now she is an intern in Washington DC, and is part of the Climate and Energy Action Plan. They are presenting their first draft. Gabe is the is the attorney advisor for the government, so he is there. She can’t even talk when her turn comes up. Her supervisor has to take over. These two characters brought out a lot of frustration in me when I read it. This is a compliment to the author’s writing. Until you put yourself in the other person’s place and understand what they’re going through because of your actions, you can never understand their frustration with you. This happened seven years ago, and this is happening now. Kudos Linnea May on a great book.

What an absolutely wonderful story! There is so much to love about this first book in a new series. It’s about second chances and going for what you want. Ella and Gabe knew each other in college, but things didn’t exactly work out. Fast forward many years later and these two meet up and while the sparks are still there, things aren’t exactly perfect. Ella is fiercely independent and Gabe is ridiculously wealthy. Both of them stubborn and refusing to back down. So when an opportunity arises in which these two will work together, prepare yourself for a wild ride.

Ella wants to make something of herself, even if that means putting others to the side, but with Gabe it’s different. Gabe, while still upset with Ella, only wants what’s best for her. This story is about two stubborn, yet caring people, who need to come to realize that they do indeed belong together. I loved the interactions between them and their chemistry is so hot you can feel your fingers burn as you turn the pages. This author also has a way of writing where you can feel the emotions the characters are feeling. Now I can’t wait for the next book in this series. Which billionaire friend will it be about next?!

Gabe Boulder and Ella Whitt met in college 7 years ago. They had a unique relationship that can only be described as a never-ending one night stand. They agreed that it would be purely physical, but that's certainly not how it turned out. It had blossomed into love, but that simply was not going to happen. Ella left him to pursue a graduate degree out west, leaving Gabe behind, frustrated and angry. He refuses to think of her because, after all, isn't this what they agreed upon? Easier said than done! Gabe's three close friends from college, Logan, Chase and Aston, are similarly innovative and driven. They form the Plutus Society because they share the same ambition to become billionaires. Taking it one step further, they make a pact to earn that billion by the time they are 30. They all realize their goal and they're back together to celebrate Aston's 30th birthday.  Gabe made his billions in Silicon Valley, and now is the Attorney Advisor for the Government of Washington, D.C. Ella returned from the coast and is working as an unpaid intern for the World Resources Institute. Her team just drafted a climate change action plan and it's Ella's job to present it to the board. What she doesn't know is that Gabe is the government advisor for The World Resources Institute, and it will be his decision whether or not the plan is accepted or rejected. Things don't go the way Ella had hoped and she's humiliated by the presentation she attempted to give. There is tension, passion, denial and, ultimately, understanding and acceptance of what they knew in their hearts seven years ago. I have to say, the plot is rich in dialog and characters, and the ending wraps it all up beautifully. Another excellent story from Linnea May, an author who does not disappoint!

Linnea May has again written a book that grabs you from the very beginning keeping you invested all the way through, the writing and storyline flow seamlessly, with the characters both extremely headstrong but also having a softer side. Heartache and regrets have plagued Gabe a self made multimillionaire and Ella a struggling environmentalist since there friends with benefits ended seven years ago after their last year at college. Little did they know what fate had install for them when after all that time they come face to face in the same meeting and when that meeting doesn’t go as planned, and they are expected to work together putting there differences aside both in business and friendship, the chemistry is undeniable but is the seven year gap a void to large to fill. From start to finish I couldn’t put it down, swept along with the angst, drama, rebuilding old friendships that makes this such a good read. I was given this as an ARC by the author in exchange for a voluntary honest review which I was totally happy to provide.

First off: I really liked this cover. It's something different from Linnea, but it is still polished and really fits the story.

This was quite different from everything else I've read from Linnea.

It still holds elements of her raunchy romance, still had playfulness and strong characters but I did find it a bit of a struggle to read at times.

Let me be clear: I did enjoy the dynamics between Ella and Gabe. You could feel that there were still feelings between them, even right from the beginning. Their relationship was different from what I expected- but in a good way.

I just got a little sidetracked and confused by some of the terminology - not an author fault, but one of my uneducated mind. It just wasn't my kind of book.

I am, however, very much looking forward to more of this series. I am very interested in all of the Plutus men and all that they have to offer.

This is book 1 in Mays new series. This is not a dark romance thatd you’d normally expect from this author. It’s much lighter but with an alpha-hole instead who keeps messing up and a girl who is strongly independent.

This books follows Gabriel and Ella from college up until they’re 30. I enjoyed the plot and story line. The character development is decent enough, could’ve been a bit better, but it wasn’t horrible.
Ella is more a free-spirited and “save the earth” type of girl. Gabe is a “do as I say” type of guy. He doesn’t realize he’s always pushing Ella away and making her flee until one of his best friends sits him down and tells him he’s the reason why Ella keeps taking off half way across the country.

I’m in intrigued to read about the other 3 guys.

This is the first book of Linnea May's new series and it is different then her other books. Most of her reads have been really dark. This is not like that and is a good change. Gabe and Ella were in a relationship in college. When she decided to move to the west coast for grad school, she took a piece of Gabe's heart with her. Jump to the present and Gabe is now a successful attorney and Ella is doing what she always wanted working with the environment. Ella though is completely taken aback when Gabe walks into one of her meetings. So much so, she completely freeze for her presentation and now her internship is in jeopardy. Her way back to perhaps having a job is to work with Gabe to get their proposal approved since he is the one against what they want to do. Gabe uses their time to learn more about Ella and boy does the spark between them reignite. While Gabe wants to see where things may lead and help to take care of Ella, Ella worked hard for her independence and needs to prove she can take care of herself. Will they be able to make it work? Will Gabe's friends influence hurt the relationship even more?

This is a good storyline that has a good plot and good steam. Characters were well developed and am looking forward to the rest of the series. I voluntarily wrote this review from reading an advanced copy of this book.

Billion Dollar Chance is the first book in Linnea May’s new Billion Dollar series. Gabe, Logan, Chase and Aston are four college friends who form The Plutus Society and make a pact upon their graduation, to become billionaires by the time they are 30 years old.
This first book focuses on Gabe and Ella who had a friends-with-benefits arrangement previously at college that disintegrated before graduation. Now seven years later fate has thrown them back into each other’s path and time will tell if this second chance will end happily ever after.
Ella is a fantastic character. She is so strong, refreshing, and charming. I loved how bold Ella is and I loved the fact that even though she had this tough exterior, her deepening love for Gabe is enchanting to follow from when we first met them in the Billion Dollar Pact.
Billion Dollar Chance is the perfect mix of sweet and sexy with mystery, intensity and emotion in between.
Linnea May is an author who continuously pours her heart and soul into her books and her readers feel that in every single page.
I can't wait to dive back into another beautiful world that Ms. May creates in this series. Very wonderfully done!

This is the first book in the Billion Dollar Pact series. As college comes to an end a group of 4 guys Gabe, Ashton, Chase and Logan make a pact to become billionaires. This is Gabe’s story
Gabe and Ella had a thing in college and it was supposed to be strictly a friend with benefits type situation but when Ella left for the west coast it hurt Gabe. 7 years have passed and Gabe is rich and a lawyer in Washington D.C. and Ella has moved there doing what she’s always wanted to do and that is being an environmentalist. When Ella is giving her presentation Gabe walks in the room and she is left speechless and totally messing up. Given another chance she is told she will have to work with Gabe and so the fun begins.
Great story from a wonderful author. This is different from your normal Linnea May books and I really enjoyed it. Well written storyline with great characters with lots of steam. I am looking forward to the next book in this series. I received an arc copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

This was such a cute second chance romance! I just felt so sorry for Ella who was bicycling around Washington, DC on a bike in the winter time! And since she was a non-paid intern, she and her roommate were also scrimping on heat in their poor little apartment! It was hilarious when she was "promoted" and her boss thought she'd pull a fast one! Gabe was pretty much a hero throughout the book but he did need his friend's advice to set him straight toward the end to get the couple to their happy ending!

An imperfect couple but perfect for each other.

An unusual vibe with a touch of melancholia sets the initial mood as both Ella and Gabe reminisce about their past, fighting against the mutual attraction as each thinks the other no longer cares.

Exceptional sizzling chemistry and witty repartee are a feature of this touching hard won second chance romance which has everything and everyone against the chances of it happening.

I am extremely interested in discovering how the other members of the Pact fare in their love interests, they are sure to be as captivating and unique as this one.

What a marvellous story, I thoroughly enjoyed this second chance, opposites attract, love story. While Gabe and Ella were an item in college, even then they fought against acknowledging their feelings, now seven years later and a chance meeting brings them back together, they are still fighting their feelings. They are opposites in so many ways, but the attraction between them is as strong as ever. The passion is off the charts even while they fight it, but fate determines otherwise and they change so that they adopt parts of one another and finally an intervention brings them together. A truly lovely ending and a few Easter eggs along the way about the other three college mates makes for a delightful read.

"Intertwining like vines as we grew."
A second chance romance for college friends. Gabe has made his dreams come true, so much, that's he's bored with his life. He's a bit arrogant and set in his ways, he doesn't have to bow to anyone, he is the one in control and everyone knows it. Ella is scraping by, sharing a lousy apartment, and working as an intern, making little or no money. She has one chance to start her path of redemption, but Gabe is sitting at the table and she chokes. I loved the blizzard analogy regarding slowing down and also the "Gabe-The-Awesome" reference as well as the hoity toity small talk and most especially the origami.

This story follows mainly Gage and Ella and what happens when after almost seven years they end up in the same room with each other again. So many emotions are exposed hurt, anger, resentment, pain, misunderstanding, past miscommunications and even longing. Even after all this time there is still a powerful pull between them even when they want to hate each other. As the saying goes there is a thin line between love and hate. Then her livelihood is put at risk when her boss gives her an ultimatum to get the lawyer who is stopping their proposal to change his mind. Little did her boss know or care that she was hoping never to see Gage again. They both are headstrong, stubborn and think they are right to the point that they end up lying to themselves and to each other about their feelings and life. Their journey wasn't easy between his friends telling him one thing, his head another and his heart wanting to believe then her insecurities about her career, her afraid to admit she still wants him because he will reject her and her need for independence. Can they get past what happened nearly seven years ago and move forward or will they let their hurt rule their happiness?
I enjoyed seeing the other guys Chase, Logan and Aston from the prequel show up in this book and see snippets of what they were up to. I'm looking forward to future books to see what or who we will get to read about next.

I received an ARC from the author for my honest review.

ARC Review by The Dragon Den

A sexy second chance romance between a flustered and emotional pair with unrequited love, speculation of the future and fear of putting themselves forward. Understanding and communication is taught by this couple, and what could be lost if you don't take the risk for happiness.

I found Ella hard to like. Her prickly hauty, martyrdom was too much, especially when she was the one that selfishly left Gabe. She was nothing special in my eyes and Gabe could do better, much better. Her integrity was very questionable. Ella is a total and utterly complete work in frustration to me. She acts so immaturely trying to be miss independence when things are obviously beyond her depths. Smh. Thankfully ,Logan saved het thoughtlessness.

Wow 🤩! What a amazing, heartwarming story. You can feel the roll a coaster ride of emotions in this authors writing ✍️; the challenges, the fear, the guilt, the strength and determination the characters both portrait in this incredible love story. Unconditional love in all its shape and forms is revealed and proves to be everlasting. Gabe’s and Ella’s story is a definite read and there’s no cliffhanger only a forever.

Billion Dollar Chance is my first read by Linnea May. It is a sweet, second chance, enemies to lovers read. It sets us up for the other books in The Biilion Dollar Pact Series.

Ella and Gabe “dated” their Senior year of college. Although, they never put a label on their relationship, when Ella decides to move to the West Coast for graduate school, Gabe was devastated.

Now seven years later, Ella is back and sitting across from Gabe to present a project the institute she is an intern for is working on. And, he is completely blindsided. And, she completely bombs.

When Gabe, as the Attorney Advisor for the Government of Columbia, rips apart the proposal, Ella’s future at the institution depends on changing his mind.

One thing leads to another and Ella ends up in Gabes’s employment. The feelings and chemistry they had years ago are still present. As they act upon them old insecurities creep in.

The book reads easily, however, I didn’t feel the connection as deeply as I would have loved too. Ella comes off immature and whiny at first. Gabe let’s his friends get into his head too much. For me to much time was spent on the working aspect of their relationship instead of feeling like they were building a romantic one. It was only in the last few chapters I really felt their connection and growth.

That being said, I would still read another book by Linnea because I did enjoy the book, just didn’t LOVE it.
