'How many were killed in the attack today?' asked Fursa, the senior sheep. He was surveying the bloodstained East African grassland where the lions had gone on a rampage, now scattered with the shattered bones of his friends and families. Despair hung thick in the air.'
Welcome to the jungle. Here, the survival of the fittest is the ultimate truth. The weaker animal gets eaten in what is considered a natural food chain. But some have been tampering with the organic arrangement for selfish gains and resorting to mass murder.
In the Mau Forest in East Africa, the mighty lion king Kaizaar's autocratic ways are wreaking havoc on his subjects. Known to be the longest-serving ruler of the pride, he is ministered by the shrewd Shaka - the former leader of the lambs who betrayed his flock for the stronger lions. With their defences exposed, the lambs are backed into a corner.
How do the lambs stop the carnage and find refuge?
Will they be able to reverse the fate of their species and restore the Law of the Jungle?
Can a bunch of fearful lambs learn to roar?
What emerges is an illuminating leadership fable. The politics of the jungle and the strategies that aid survival are lessons of lasting value that will not only inspire but also help find the leader within you.

TITLE : THE ROARING LAMBS A Fable About Finding the Leader in You. AUTHOR : Sreedhar Bevara Publication : HarperCollins Publishers India Format : Paperback Pages : 182
✴️ Who really is a leader and what are the qualities of leadership? The author has metaphorically written this thing very well in his book. ✴️ The story of the book is written on the lion king named 'Kaizaar' of the Jungle, who used to harass the rest of the animals of the Jungle and used to do his arbitrariness by breaking the rules and regulations of the Jungle. ✴️ All the animals of the Jungle were upset due to such injustice, but no one wanted to face the lion. ✴️ Now the Jungle needed a leader who could not only save them from the cruelty being done by the lion 'Kaizaar' but also get a proper law to be followed among all the animals. ✴️ At the same time a lamb of the Jungle named 'Shuja' dares to stand up against the injustice being done by the lion. ✴️ Now think to yourself how a lamb can face a lion? Will Shuja be able to stop the brutality done by Kaizaar and save the rest of the animals of the Jungle from his terror? ✴️ You will get answers to all these questions after reading the book. ✴️ The cover of the book portrays a lamb whose shadow is just like a lion. It shows that there is a lion inside everyone, we just need to identify it. This message on the cover page of the book impressed me a lot. ✴️ To fight against any injustice, it is not only necessary to have power, but a right choice, right use of intelligence and unity matters and this is what we get to learn in this book in the true sense. ✴️ The title of the book is completely appropriate and the writing of the author is also quite simple which makes the book unique. ✴️ If you want to know how to become a true leader then you must read this book. ✴️ "The lion may be a borm champion. But if they don't respect the Law of the Jungle, like everyone else, they will also flounder. The lamb may be a meek animal. But with the strength of conviction, they can prove to be the most daunting. Keep Roaring...Eventually, things will change or your thinking will." - I totally agree with this last few lines of the book.
Book: The Roaring Lambs…A Fable about finding the Leader in You Author: Sreedhar Bevara Publisher: Hapercollins Publishers India Genre: Fiction Format: Paperback Pages: 182 Rating: 5/5
The book is perfect blend of fiction and non-fiction. I am someone who keeps on switching between fiction and non-fiction. This book is perfect for person like me who loves a blend of both in right proportions. Like through the characters and dialogue and story build, the reader gets to learn a lot. I got to learn a lot about politics, being diplomatic, right strategy and leadership
The story is about the herd of lambs attacked ruthlessy by lions every now and then , not for need but for greed, violating the laws of jungle. Lambs are worried that someone is telling their secrets to lions. This is the story of lambs who find the leader in themselves and find for justice.
Special appreciation to the beautifully crafted nomenclature for each chapter. Also, besides leadership lessons , this book has a lot of wisdom to offer.
While reading the book, I was reminded of the famous book ‘1984’ by George Orwell. To be true, I found it equally good. I am glad our Indian writers are writing such perfect books.
The language is easy and lucid. The writing style is so engaging. There is so much firmness in the beautifully articulated dialogues. Characters are so well sketched. As a reader , I could relate to all of them so well. All in all story was ready good and really well executed.
The cover page is really beautiful. The image of lamb with shadow of lion is really captivating. The title is even more eye catchy and alluring. The quality of paperback is good.
If you love books with perfect blend of fiction and non-fiction, which have to offer nuggets of wisdom on leadership, you would love this book for sure.
A short, yet effective story that symbolises the competitive world itself and how to survive it cleverly.
The selfish lion king with his cunning minister strategise and kills the lambs to survive in the forest without hunger. After all, the rule of the jungle is Survival of the Fittest and who is more fit than the Roaring lions? Well the lambs are, if you read this to know how they break the rules and fight the evil king of the first.
A short and crisp fable with effective anecdotes and prose about the leadership that are very inspiring and soul searching for young and old.
The Roaring Lambs by Sreedhar Bevara is a fable about finding the leader in you.
In the Mau Forest in East Africa, the population of lambs is dwindling fast due to frequent hunts by the lions. These hunts violate the law of the jungle as the lions kill and take away more lambs than they need. What the lambs need is a leader who can guide them and end their misery by ensuring their survival.
On the other hand, the lions are advised by a shrewd lamb Shaka, former ruler of the lambs. The ready information about the hiding spots of lambs provided by Shaka has made the lions lazy and they haven't hunted naturally from quite a long time. This threatens the well being of lions in longer run.
Can Shuja, the prince of lambs and Kesan, a lion proponent of restoring the Law of Jungle rise in these times of adversity and become leaders? Will the order be restored?
The author has embedded essential leadership qualities in this interesting and engaging fable. Easy to read and understand, the book has a nice plot and a number of well developed characters. The title of the book is very appropriate as it is the tale of lambs who learned to roar as they stood up against injustice. The importance of a leader has been brought out nicely in this book, if a leader is good, he can even make an army of lambs win over a pride of lions.
It is an interesting book to read which offers a lot of lessons. A perspicuous writing style and easy language makes it suitable even for new readers.
'The Roaring Lambs' by Sreedhar Bevara has had some amazing reviews that I have read. And it is those that had me a little hyped about it as it had not seemed as interesting to me when I had first received it and tried to read it. I had, therefore, kept it away, thinking I would like it if I read it some time later. I couldn't have been more wrong. Which means, I did not like the book.
The premise of the book is intriguing enough, but the book in it's entirety is nothing exceptional. It feels like the author tried to tell a story that has been told time and again, in one form or another, by mixing up elements from other stories that came before it. It felt like it tried too hard to be what it wanted to be and that defeated it's purpose to a great extent.
Story wise, it's pretty clear. It is also quite clear that the author wrote it with a message that he wanted to convey. But what make it feel like it is pushing the limits, quite unnecessarily, are the characters. One might be able to imagine a fox trying to eat grapes, a dog barking at it's own reflection, a deer trying to reason with a hunter, animals taking over a farm and driving their owners away, but sheep fighting with lions with military precision is not something one can digest easily. Also, there is something about the language that put me off. Maybe it's too casual for my taste is all.
It's an easy, beginner friendly read and will inspire people of all ages, if the book appeals to them. They might not find anything wrong with a lot of things that I pointed out. It is only that those things put me off, personally. In case you want to give it a try anyway, you can go for it if you have some time and a copy of it lying around. But in other circumstances, you definitely might find many better books to read instead, like Vince Poscente's 'The Ant and the Elephant', or even Kipling's 'The Jungle Book', or any other non-fiction on leadership because there are some very amazing ones out there.
This book, unfortunately, does not go into my blog, and therefore gets a short, full review on my Instagram itself. But I nonetheless thank @harpercollinsin and @sreedharbevara for the review opportunity.
This book is a perfect epitome of Alexander the Great's quote “I am not afraid of an army of lions led by a sheep; I am afraid of an army of sheep led by a lion.” It summarises the whole story of this book in a nutshell because that's all it was all about!
Kaizaar, the lion king, was maneuvered by Shaka, a manipulating Lamb, who was betrayed his flock for the security of his life and let the lambs of his flock massacred by the brutal lions! This massacre led to the questions of the existence of the lambs and the balance in the jungle. To keep the balance of the jungle and save themselves from extinction, Shuja, the prince of the lambs, rebels against the lions with the help and collaboration with other animals of the jungle so desperately wanted to keep the rules of the jungle in a right and balanced order.
I wish I could say the concept and the story of this book was unique or something new but till the end of the very last page, I found it nothing but banal. Throughout the book, I couldn't help but compare it with 'The Lion King' and 'Ramayana' because everything that I read in this book was a kind of amalgamation of these two mentioned shows!
But if we talk about the essence of this book then it eloquently represents the key concepts of leadership through all of its major characters; Kesan, a lion with compassion and kindness in his heart, Shuja, with his selflessness and dedication to doing something for his flock, Taibu, A Maasai warrior, who wants nothing but a life of harmony in the jungle, and Kaizaar, an arrogant king who kept his own selfish needs and greed for power before anyone else. The author remarkably represented all different kinds of leaders and their qualities through different characters and the problems they faced!
The language of this book was picturesque and rhetorical and good for people who are not much into reading or prefer something simple and effective! The story is cliche but still refreshing enough to keep going and teach you something with every chapter!
"When you can't make them see the light, make them feel the heat." - Ronald Reagan.
'The Roaring Lamb' is a fable about espying the true leader within oneself. Sreedhar Bevara, through a short animal tale, delineates an outlook of leadership. The basic rule of forest lies in the survival of the fittest.
In the Mau Forest of East Africa, the indigent lambs were cut-throat by the ruthless lions. The lions didn't follow the rules of the jungle, and they hunted mercilessly for the sake of pride and not for their survival. The killing of lambs were increasing day by day, and now it has become high time to find an efficient leader who could raise voice against the injustices and brutality.
King Kaizaar, the proud and egoistic lion is misled by his foxy minister Shaka, who belongs to the lamb community. With the help of Shaka, the lion community hunt as much they want, killing the lambs brutally. On the other hand Shuja, the leader of lamb community stand against the injustices and is set to protect his community & to bring peace and order in the jungle.
It's a short tale for awakening the leader within you, to know more about team work and leadership skills. The novel is simple yet so powerful and extraordinary. If you wish to read something light and insightful, then I highly recommend this book. (Rating : 5/5)
The Roaring Lambs: A Fable About Finding the Leader in You is a book written by writer Sreedhar Bevara which roam around a story set in the Mau Forest in East Africa where the mighty lion king Kaizaar's lion and a lamb named Shuja were lived.
This incident happened when the lion in the jungle brutally killed poor lambs without following any rules. The Lion king Kaizer gets shattered by his power and forgets about the law and continues to disobey the law even when the lambs remind him.
All wildlife and especially the poor lambs needed a leader who could dare to raise a voice against this cruelty and restore peace in the forest. Behind all this, there is a traitor lamb who misguides the king.
- To see how all the victim creatures of the jungle will dare to raise their voice against the powerful King?
- will they succeed? - And who will lead them in all these because doing so is to deliberately buy enmity with a king?
The story is very very interesting and unique. I love the way their plot is developed into a great leadership story that leaves a great impact on our life. I would recommend this book to everyone who wants to read an amazing story with an interesting storyline and plot.
It's been a long time since I have read any fable and this is a beautiful message potraited in the form of a fable here. The author has successfully penned down the current human situations in the form of fables. The plot protraited the story of a forest where the lion, the king of the jungle was manipulated by his minister, a sheep to attack and kill the flock of sheep without keeping the just balance that is required to keep his people in the jungle safe and sound. Meanwhile there's one more sheep who stands as the leader of the flock of sheep in the jungle and he uses his wits to avoid the situation and make his fellow members safe. As this is a fable, there are numerous characters included to make it more interesting for the readers. Plus the plot also potraits moral lessons which are valuable and important for one to live in the world. The narration is kept simple and easy making it a comfortable read for all. The language used is lucid. The cover conveys the best essence of the plot and the title too. I loved the way the author has layers and penned down the book. I finished it in one sitting only.
The Roaring Lambs is a fable set in the land of the animals like lion and the lambs. . Kesan is chosen by the king of the jungle to look over how the Jungle functions and Kesan finds many loopholes and which leads to Shaka to get in between and get Kesan thrown out of the Kingdom as Shaka wanted things to go as they were going. . Then come the flock of lambs with their leader Shuja who wants to bring back the Law of the Jungle and to bring back a proper system in the Jungle. . Thus begins a tale of leaders in different groups and how they each move ahead with the agenda in their mind to change the course of life they are living. . The author takes the example of jungle and moves ahead to make the reader explain the concept of leadership and to make one understand how one leaders work in the Jungle. The Jungle here being synonymous with the society and the various animals representing the poor, the rich, the powerful, the warriors and the ones who are labourers and follow a leader.
Sitting on my to-read list for a long time, I finally complete this book. I am glad that I read it. I picked this book purely on instinct and reviews, however as I said it was waiting to be picked for quite a long time. The story was well plotted, a wonderful concept put into action over a forest theme and animal characters. It is all about a sheep who betrays its own species for selfishness. A powerful Lion who falls prey for ego and apparently learns lesson the hardest way. A strong Sheep, who stands for its species and dares to fight Lions to win and justice. A leader, lion, who realizes that the law of forest should never be overlooked and over ruled. A wise Lioness who stands for what is justice over her king. The story by itself is very interesting and so is the learning out of it. One has to learn the underlying moral of the book themselves but it sure is not difficult, also it can just be enjoyed as a wonderful story too. Over all I loved the story, I would recommend for all ages, this is a good lesson of life and leadership.
The Roaring Lambs projects the classic leadership wisdom, thus providing a framework for adaptability, negotiations and a characterization of power pursuit. Through the book has aim to amplify the leadership concept but at the same time it also imparts the knowledge of radical ambiguity and enormous political and practical consequences.
The opening scene of the book is the brutal highlights of the massacre done by the pride of lions on the flock of sheep. A heated argument between Missada, an youth sheep and the older sheep named Fursa with Akhili, the wise old bear displays the general premise of the book that the plot is based upon. Just after this, we are immediately plunged deeper into the story by the introduction of the lion who committed the aforementioned barbaric onslaught. King Kaizaar, the reigning and hubristic Lion King, who believes that he is entitled to commit deceits against innocent sheep as his supreme ruling of the Mau Forest allows his theorization of "the survival of the fittest."
As we move deeper into the story we are introduced to more characters who ultimately play vital roles in the bigger events. The thing to keep in mind while reading is, remember no character is irreverent. The Law of the Jungle is something that should not be meddle with. With ruthless competition and a series of aggressive hoodwinks, read this book to see a code that dictates survival by any means manifolds into vilified master plan until someone inspired minority to say 'enough is enough.'
My favorite was the ending chapter titled "The ultimate commitment to the Law.' This was yet another power punched chapter that just took me by surprise. The final paragraph is my favorite section because the encouraging and wise words by one of the best characters of the book was something that I needed to hear.
Sreedhar Bevara's commendable pioneering skills is an inspiration in itself. He mastered the art of good leadership and forward looking approach and this book exemplifies on honing the best of each member's potential through trailblazing thinking. I think it aptly describes the political agendas and other cunning strategies that are employed either to win or manipulate the general public. Teetering on the knife edge, The roaring lambs not only showcases the best of influences but also the crafty conduct of diplomacy and power politics.
Truely, this is an inspirational story with a strong message which the author was successful in delivering with his writing. Size and popularity do not make you a leader, a leader put his subjects first and think about them whenever he takes a major decision. Through the animals of Mau forest, the author points out the qualities of a true leader. There is no doubt that I like this book but somewhere I didn't find anything new here, I was well aware about the things mentioned in the story. However you are a beginner and want to start your reading journey or if you are looking for a light read then you can surely pick this book.
The Roaring Lambs by Sreedhar Bevara Book Review: Leadership Skills are an essential education when one is in their higher education especially in schools. From my own experience I had learned about leadership skills from my Business Education studies when I was in my higher secondary education. But, as life is progressing me, along with many others are increasingly understanding the fact that leadership is very important in every spheres of our career especially to strive and survive in this modern world whose laws keep on changing, much like the law of the jungle as mentioned in Bevara 's work. There is still lurking among many other shifting ideas the basic fact in the form of a theory, The Survival of the Fittest, but in this law as well there are certain barriers and respectful existential boundaries where everyone who comes under this law has every right to live a full life, irrespective of their problems and sacrifices with a lot of use of tact. Civilisations for centuries has thrived in this manner. The story involves Kaizaar, the good turned into evil and Shuja, the physically meek but strong in will. The first one is a lion, and the second one is a sheep. Obviously, when I speak of this two characters in this manner, it will become clear to us that the sheep cannot survive in front of the lion' s power but The Roaring Lambs fable will describe something else totally and the irony lies in the title itself, how can lambs roar? Shaka, the brother of the lamb king Rakha betrays his brother only to join in alliance with Kaizaar. From here troubles begin. Rakha is killed and his offspring Shuja is meant to lead the lamb population with the help of bear Akili and veteran lamb Fursa but he is mean minded, only caring for his family leading him to constantly illegally assist Shaka to pass on the information of lamb hideouts to King Kaizaar for their ease in hunting. This also leads to serious disturbances in the much revered and pious law of the jungle where the lions increasingly keep on losing their hunting instincts and skills and the lamb population goes on decreasing rapidly without a fault of their leaving the jungle with extreme food shortages and emptied, upsetting the food chain which will only lead to the lions suffering with progression of their species. But, in the narrative in a light comes up to help them, later to be proven as their rightful king and saviour, Lion Kesan. Again, we are bound to think how a lion can help a sheep? But herein lies the motive of the story. The allegoric element of the book comes to live when the lambs prepare themselves to face the lion in the jungle which is very unusual with the help of alliances from other species of animals that comes under the rampant predators. Jungle holds a lot of secrets and maybe miles away from the human civilization, these alliances are formed and broken quite rapidly, but to save the jungle and one's self, this work suggests to take a different route, of forming plans, to be tactful, stay grounded, affirmed and informed, form reliable alliances that are strong, powerful and careful as well, and above all be friends of each other. As the novel ends, the jungle returns to it's normal humdrum existence where no back stabbers, manipulative, cunning and non leaders are allowed. Where the lambs understand the leader in them and roar, obviously without jerking in fear. This is the best work of fiction that teaches to be the leader, have faith and believe and confidently hon the skills to stay aput in that decision. This book may signify and resemble the phenomenal movie, the lion King but in some insighting ways it is different and the most important point is this book has all the jungle in it, with it all it 's grandeur and flaws.
Book name:- The Roaring Lambs Author :- Sreedhar Bevara Pages:- 182 Rating :- 4.5/5 "A Fable About Finding the LEADER IN YOU" We all know that a leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way. The most dangerous leadership myth is that leaders are born-that there is a genetic factor to leadership. That’s nonsense; in fact, the opposite is true. Leaders are made rather than born. Leadership is a matter of intelligence, trustworthiness, courage, and discipline. Reliance on intelligence alone results in rebelliousness. Exercise of humaneness alone results in weakness. Fixation on trust results in folly. Dependence on the strength of courage results in violence. Excessive discipline and sternness in command result in cruelty. When one has all five virtues together, each appropriate to its function, then one can be a leader. And this story has built up this idea of leadership in our minds really well & also reminds me of a movie named "LION KING". The story revolves around a jungle in Africa where a pride of lions are grimly attacking the herds of lambs & violate the dictation of jungle. This create an impasse & a firm voice of leadership is the need of the hour to impede the cantankerous lions & their avarice and to exonerate the jungle from thier dishevelled atrocities. King Kaizzar and It's insolent, autocratic attitude along with some preposterous steerage create a restive situation. This repeatedly reveals to us his inability to be a abstemious & prudent leader. As like as the human history of colonization animals also try to expand their territory and kaizzar is totally aware about it. This story seems like an open mirror to our society, and explicitly shows us the different kind of characters of the animals. On the other hand the lambs are extremely worried about their situation and desperately need some revamp anyway. Only by reading the book will we know whether they or the whole jungle will rise up against this atrocities and protest against this injustice. . A long time later I read a story like this and it stunned me. Really admire the author for his writing style and structured writing and the way he expresses the leadership qualities in this book with absolute lucidity is amazing. Overcoming all the disparities and inequalities, this fable will make a place in the heart of the reader.
"I am not afraid of an army of lions led by a sheep; I am afraid of an army of sheep led by a lion." -Alexander the Great
The above lines conceptualize the entire story. It is indeed an outstanding fable of leadership that shows us how and how not a leader should be, what it takes to be an ideal and great leader and other great lessons.
We know the rule of the forest which says "survival of the fittest" and we also know that the lions don't hurt until you cause any harm to them or if they are very hungry. But what if the very rule of the forest is overturned and used for the benefit of one particular clan? What if the lions hunt for their prey mercilessly and without proportion even when they don't need the meat? What would happen to the balance of the environment and the jungle?
This tale shows us exactly that and makes us understand the essence of maintaining the ecological balance. King Kaizaar, a lion and the king of the forest is misled and misdirected by his cunning and selfish minister Shaka, who is from the lamb community. With Shaka's strategies to expose the secrets about the hideouts of lambs, the lions don't need to worry about their food.
On the other hand, we have Shuja, a very talented and great leader of the lamb community who wants to fight for justice, stop the merciless killing of his kith and kin and bring back the balance into the environment. He sets out on a battle to fight against King Kaizaar with the help of another lion Kesan.
Will he be able to win against the lions? Will the meekly, weak lambs finally learn to roar? Will he bring back the balance into the environment or will his actions result in the complete wipeout of his clan?
A perfect tale that gives us an insight into leadership and gives us a lot of life lessons to learn and adapt in our lives. The narration and the characterization are done perfectly. The characters like Kesan, Queen Leela, Shuja, Misaada brings a smile to our faces while reading. If you loved the movie Lion King, you will love this book too. Highly recommended.
"The bravest are surely those who have the clearest vision of what is before them, glory and danger alike and yet notwithstanding go out to meet it." ~ Thucydides
The story opens in East Africa's Mau Forest that inhabited several animals elephants, towering giraffes, hippos, rough rhinos, wildebeests, wild dogs monkeys, sheep and lions. Once all of them were having a peaceful life obeying the law of jungle. But the sheeps are encountering deaths and injuries by the lions and this lead to call of tragedy over their entire species.
Misaada is the lamb who has lost his friend in an attack by the lion. He is an ordinary young lamb who is furious at all the bloodshed.
Shuja is one of the bravest sheep of the Mau Forest, once when Misaada and his group were roaming around the forest, five wolves were waiting to attack them. That time Shuja helped them to save Misaada and from than all of them started living together. Shuja never cared about this own life when come to protect lives around him.
On the other side of the story Lion King Kaizaar ,who is a blind devotee of power sent Shaka to invite Kesan to join Royal council because she took him as a threat to his authority and throne. He believes in taking up all the admire and respect only for himself and never want any another lion who doesn't belong to Royal blood interfere in his political position.
All the characters have their significant roles to empower the charm of the story. You will be amazed by the gripping narration that will convince you to complete the book. You will get to learn moral values from each of the characters. The book will graciously compel you bring out a best leader in yourself and also pass the insights with others. I m glad to learn so many strengthening life lessons from the book that will surely help me here or there.
I avidly make a reccomedation to students to read this book to become a good leader and protect the welfare of nation whenever required.
"This magistrate is not the king. The people are the king."~Gouverneur Morris
There is a difference between power and dependence, pride and dignity, royalty and inconsequentiality. Whenever balance disturbs, there rises a rebel, to change. The Roading Lambs by Sreedhar Bevara is a fable of courage, leadership, sacrifice and vigour. The story takes the reader to the far land of Mau forest where rules mighty lion king Kaizaar, a symbol of royalty and true power, popular among courtiers but limited favoured by the subjects. The conflicts arise when the powerful race wants to dominate others, illegally destroying the population, violating the laws of nature. Among subjects, the majority resides with lambs, the gentle community and weaker but courageous race. But in every race or flock, there are two types of people, one with all members and one with greed, which leads to destruction sometimes. The conflict of thoughts brings two opposites on the battlefield, one favours dominance and one for the true 'kingship' and decent rule. Kesan, a royal chamber member, initially realises the wrong direction in which the empire is going, then the chain of changes starts which ends with a satisfying end with a lot of sacrifice and desperation. The story symbolically represents the monarchy and its faults with odds of a better ruling. The conflicts are straightforward, not including politics much but the transfer of power to the right one, with vigil participation of gentle ones. As we observe, it is simple and full of positivity, representing a different character with their true identity showing the historic moments when rebel changed the rulers. But in the last part, one interesting point must be considerable! The disbelief - the best point I observed. Overall this book is perfect as its cover suggests. Happy reading.
"In a kingdom, time changed as do laws based on those changes. It is not for anyone to question the sanctity of the directives of the king. Telling a king his rule is flawed implies you are the mighty king how to rule" This was a warning that Shaka the cheif minister of Royal Council of King Kaizaar gave to Dhimsa. Here whoever goes against the Majesty is remarked as treason and death is the only reward they can relish on. The power and terror of the king subjugates the entire Mau forest to be more specifically the lambs. They have been ruthlessly killed by the lions around the forest and are helplessly seeking a good mentorship on behalf of which they will figuring out their strategies to stand against the unjustified rules of lions that have taken away lives of many lambs.
The story glorifies need of unification, where Shuja represent a noble vision of leadership to save their species during the endurance of struggle of life. Fursa loves her daughter Uzuri very much so he always hide a part of his personality that he is jealous of his son in law Shuja. He is keenly aspiring to became the leader of the lamb and take the credit but he doesn't share decimal of his personality with Shuja who has selflessly helping many lambs from different region to protect their life.
Till now if you find the characters intresting enough, let me tell you these are only handful of them. There are bunch of another fine characters with striking dialogues that will impact you in a incompatible way.
The plot is simplistic yet beautifully presented , well coordinating narration.
Title is well chosen to convey the idea behind the book.
The story moves in a smooth and faced paced narration and never felt monotonous.
More or less this books gave me the vibes of Jungle book by Rudyard Kipling.
The lion may be a born champion. But if they don’t respect the Law of Jungle, like everyone else, they will also flounder. The lamb may be a leak animal. But with the strength of conviction, they can prove to be the most daunting. And remember, “Might is not always right.” Keep roaring.” The fable starts with the law of jungle. Here the survival of the fittest is the ultimate truth. The weaker animal gets eaten bearing the food chain but then some have been tinkering with the organic array for selfish and resorting to mass murder.
Fursa, the senior sheep was scrutinising the bloodstained East African grassland where the lions had gone on a rampage, now scattered with the bones of his friends and families. In the Mau forest in East Africa, the mighty lion king Kaizaar’s autocratic ways are wrecking havoc in his subjects. Known to be the longest-serving ruler of the pride, he is catered to by shrewd Shaka, the former leader of the lambs who betrayed his flock for the stronger lions. With their defence exposed, the lambs are back into a corner. Will they be able to reverse the fate of their species and restore the Law of the Jungle? Can lambs roar and find refuge?
The volume focuses on the politics of jungle and the strategies that aid survival. They’re life long lessons to build leadership quality. The book upskilled that being superior is superfluous. Superiority doesn’t make you a leader. The efforts you put to be one, makes you one. The book helps finding a leader in self. Achieving goals depends on leadership but then maximising self efficiency is important. The central theme of book revolves around “leadership”. The cover and the title is itself so attractive that one must not miss out on it. For me it was an intriguing but slow pace read, as I’m not much fond of fables.
"After all, this was no way to live- fearing for your life every second." After a long time, I read a book which in all sense is a page-turner. Set in East Africa's Mau forest, the story is about lambs who believe the lions should 'hunt only for meal', whereas the lions live believing it is only the survival of the fittest that matters, and they kept exploiting the Law of Jungle by killing in abundance. But how long do you think will this continue? Will the lambs succumb to the atrocities of lions?
Kesan, a brave, giant lion believes that cooperation, collaboration and coexistence are the key elements for preserving the species of the jungle. The Law of Jungle has to be followed to maintain the ecological balance and help sustain the food chain, but the lions under the influence of a wicket lamb, Shaka exploits all norms. On the other hand, Shuja, a leader, good-hearted lamb, plans to strive for justice and the well-being of fellow lambs because he believes that co-existence is a necessity for the longevity of the ecosystem.
Writing is very fluent, all the characters are well defined and preserved in the book, I am soo much in love with Shuja and Kesan, that I want to see a movie, rather a cartoon film would be better for them. Narration is superb and I loved the way the story went, with every page I felt an urge to read more and completed it in a day. Also, I immensely love reading African culture and authors, so I found a different level of attachment to the book, and have done a detailed analysis on my blog. This is one of the books I would love to recommend to all, kids, adults and super adults too. I hope you know what I mean now.
"Might is not always right. Keep roaring. Eventually, things will change or your thinking will.”
Alexander the Great has said "I am not afraid of an army of lions led by a sheep; I am afraid of an army of sheep led by a lion." From this quote itself, you must’ve got the crux of this book. A good leadership can save the drowning nation due to unavoidable circumstances, a losing party in a war & many more such crises. It is a great leader who with exceptional leadership skills would be able to lead even a herd of lambs and make them roar like lions.
“The Roaring Lambs: A Fable of Finding the Leader in You” is a fable written to sparkle & strengthen leadership quality in its readers. The story is about a herd of lambs & pride of lions who live in Mau forest of East Africa where there are heinous & consistent killings of lambs by the lions. They keep killing lambs & dream about the dominance, happiness they’ll get when all the lambs will be vanished by their cruelty. But lambs then determine to answer back with their mental strength, extra-ordinary leadership & unity. At the same time, one of the lambs comes out to be a traitor & might ruin their chances of independence. What would happen next? Well, give it a read!
I loved the plot & narration of this book with easy & lucid language. There are many characters; each with a different, independent personality. They are quite likable and their characterization has been amazing.
I loved the idea of the author to give important lessons on leadership as well as other life wisdom through a fable which feels humane enough. Being empathetic towards the animals in it, thinking parallely with them & learning life lessons through them have been done by me throughout this book.
Overall, it was a great read and it again proves that there are a lot of things nature teaches us and this fable, although it’s fictional, didn’t fail to prove this point.
"Might is not always right". Keep roaring. Eventually, things will change or your thinking will.
The title sounds ironic. How can the lambs' roar? Lions roar. Yes! But what if the roar of the lion doesn't symbolise justice & the valour of the King anymore. What if the roar of the lions become an excuse for many to die at the hands of the power without any laws & goals. All this sounds related. Yes! This occurs in the human world too.
These lines sound familiar because human beings are said to be lawbreakers. And especially when it comes to nature. We know we have destroyed it the most & are still doing it with as much power & capacity.
But you must have heard this for sure that a Lion will not hunt you down until it's hungry. Animals eat when they need it and not in greed. What if this alters?
This book speaks a tale about Jungle laws. The lion King Kaizaar is under the influence of his advisor Shaka, one from the lamb community discloses the secrets of his species & what follows is the nasty hunting of lambs.
No one to stop it. No one to put up a voice. No one to say the truth to the power. And everyone to overpraise the king for their advantages. But as it's said in the story, when Kaizaar tried to rewrite the Law of the Jungle, he scripted his end too.
This fiction/self-help is going to teach you something very basic but forgotten elements about leadership. I loved this fable & some of the lessons are worth acquiring for life if you ever want to be a leader. I would recommend reading it, especially to your children. A short 180 pages book, full of bravery & determination.
I am not afraid of an army of lions led by a sheep; I am afraid of an army of sheep led by a lion.
- Alexander the Great
Little did l really know the depth of the this quote before reading this book. "The Roaring lambs" is an extraordinary novel to read to enhance your leadership quality. Leaders are not born, they are made that is what said in this book in an exceptional way.
The tale about leadership was found in the hardest times of the forest. The law of the jungle was shaking and this is where the wounded hearts had the bravery to fight for their kind. Ultimately the book represents a great plot of the chaos. The grand jungle has a royal power of control. King Kaizaar has been establishing himself and in a certain time he forgets to place his thoughts over all species in the jungle. The lambs are becoming a constant prey. There was Shaka and Kesan in the spotlight and played a major role. Shaka betrayed his lambs, Kesan was accused for nothing wrong he did. The constant emotions to win and stable the law never let you drop the book. Did King Kaizaar realise his mistake ? Where the lambs given their rights and place back ? Did Kesan succeed ? Grab the book to know the answers.
The characters were all animals but it was the most interesting thing. Their characters are well developed in the book. Each one had a significant role to play. I loved Kesan, Queen Leela and Misaada. They were all inspiring.
I really love the tale and the message and education about leadership is conveyed in a unique way. The writing was amazing. This was an absolute mezmoring book. I highly recommend!
"A leader is one who commands respect and doesn't demand it." The Roaring Lambs by Mr. Sreedhar Bevara is an exceptional and inspirational tale that takes us on a enlightening journey to the discovery of the leader whithin us. This deeply moving fable depicts the glorious tale of the lambs of Mau Forest who chose to roar and fight the mighty lions when their future and the Law of the Jungle were at stake and finally trod the path to greatness. The plot of the story here is very well crafted with vivid colours of pain, valor, despair, anger, shrewdness, selfishness, over confidence and conviction. It is fast paced, filled with intriguing ups and downs that never let's the reader down but also keeps them intrigued till the end. - Laced with raw emotions the story highlights how bravery knows no bounds and how a real leader emerges through unexpected extremes. The characters here have been very developed too be it the character of the angry young lamb Missada or the shrewd betraying Shaka, the kind lion Kesan or the over confident king Kaizaar. Everyone seem quite relevant and relatable here. - The plot underlines the fact that cooperation and collaboration is the essence of coexistence. - Simple and easy to understand language has been used throughout its writing. - The cover of the book looks majestic and the title too seems totally appropriate wrt the plotline. - The tale further by its end proves that even the meek can roar as loud as the strongest when push comes to shove. Overall for me it was a highly engrossing read! Highly recommended for all fable lovers!
FAB - BOOK REVIEW OF "The Roaring Lambs: A Fable About Finding the Leader in You" by Sreedhar Bevara.
Genre: Fiction (Contemporary)
Rating - 5/5
QOTD: A book that made you feel so bad for not picking it up before?
"The Roaring Lambs: A Fable About Finding the Leader in You" by Sreedhar Bevara. I'm amazed. Glorified. Utterly amazed. This book is venerating. Books like these are very few in the literary world, and readers want books like this to be published more and get in the hands of readers, a book that is wholly based on giving a beautiful message and strategy to the world by telling about leadership by a short story of lambs and lions. This is about the lousy leader lion named Kaizaar and a lamb Shuja who is completely honest and practices equality. However, Kiazaar is very short-tempered and blind to the power he has. Here, the lions are killing and eating the lambs without following the jungle laws, which has become a big issue as the king of the forest is also not following the directions, but the others should be bound to follow the law. But resecting the law and rules, Shuja tries to make a change in the jungle. . Here Kiazaar has been fooled by the traitor Shaka, and he does not follow the forest laws. This book tells us a great message about leaders. It tells us who the leader is? How can we differentiate the leaders into the good and bad categories? What does a good leader do to be one? This book is powerful with the content and something that made me go gaga over it. Kudos to the author and the publishers for all the effort and making this book something that one should definitely read.
"The Roaring Lambs" is an interesting fable that talks about what it takes to be a good leader. Many people believe that leaders are born and that this skill is not something that can be acquired but I have already felt differently. I believe that all of us have some traits to be a great leader. All we need to do is identify them and hon them.
The book starts with the quote by Alexander which I stated above. It is based on the Law of Jungle that is "survival of the fittest".
The opening lines of the book sum up the takeaways from the book very well. The book is all about how to be a good leader. The plot of the book is set in Mau forest of East Africa. A lamb named Shaka decides to join the lion tribe leading to mass killing of his own flock. The lion king, Kaizaar is everything a good leader should not be. He is highly impressionable and does not have any opinion that he calls his own. On the other hand, lambs are led by Shuja. He is a great role model for aspiring leaders. Will he be able to stand up against mighty lions and restore the harmony back in the jungle? Well! You have to read this one to know.
"The Roaring Lambs" book is an insightful and inspiring book that can teach you a lot of lessons with an interesting tale. You can learn a little something from each and every character of the book. I would recommend you all to read this book.

"I am not afraid of an army of lions led by a sheep; I am afraid of an army of sheep led by lion" - Alexander the Great You must have got the crux of this book by this quote!
💫The lions were mercilessly killing herd of lambs without following the law of the jungle (which focuses on hunting for need and not for greed so that all the species can sustain in harmony with each other). The pride lead by lion king Kaizaar continues to lead havoc on the lambs with the support of cunning minister Shaka who is a lamb itself and has betrayed his own kind for power.
The lambs tired of all this tries to maintain peace in the jungle and restore the law of the jungle and hence with the help of other species put up a fight against king Kaizaar (fighting for survival) under the leadership of Shuja, the son of great leader Rakha. They collaborate with a strong, selfless and intelligent lion Kesan who also believes in the same philosophy of law of jungle. Will they be able to face the mighty lion king? Will the atrocities of lions come to an end?
💫This is a beautifully written tale of courage, unity, survival, peace, intelligence and leadership. I loved the characters of Shuja and Kesan and their leadership qualities. This tale teaches us that even the weakest may fight and even the lambs may roar like lions if lead properly. Anything is achievable with good leadership skills and smart planning.
💫 I loved this quote: "Greatness lies in fearlessness"
💫All the characters are written beautifully and the story is penned in an inspiring way. Overall, it was a beautiful read for me. Recommended to all❤️❤️
