Emotional Repatterning: Healing Emotional Pain by Rewiring the Brain
'Clear and concise, Dr Samet has offered a book that can create real emotional change for seekers once and for all. Dr Samet's approach to full wellness starts with the emotional terrain we all find ourselves in; patterns of old thinking that do not serve us currently and that also threaten to interfere with living our best and brightest lives. Emotional Repatterning is courageous as it tackles the obstacles to being fully alive and present in our lives. It provides a step-by-step approach to anyone who is looking to heal at a deeper level, beyond where supplements, eating well and exercising can touch. This book provides a valuable solution that every person could benefit from; change your beliefs and your biology will follow. An easy and enticing read that I could not put down.' We have access to many tools to help us deal with the rising tide of anxiety and psychotherapy, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), medication, meditation, positive affirmations. These methodologies are increasingly popular and have been able to bring some relief to many. But in terms of permanent, deep change, these options are sorely limited because they work solely with the conscious mind rather than with the underlying subconscious beliefs that drive our behavior. Recent research on the brain has revealed that we are only aware of 5% of our brain activity, while the other 95% is subconscious. So, unless we work with both our conscious mind as well as our subconscious mind, we may find some decrease in our pain, but we will continue to struggle. Emotional Healing Emotional Pain by Rewiring the Brain provides insights, stories and examples from Lisa Samet's life and the lives of her patients, as well as practical tools to uncover the subconscious beliefs that are holding us back. It deepens the reader's understanding of their own mind – the patterns of thinking and deep-seated beliefs that keep them feeling stuck and unhappy – and teaches skills to change both their thinking at the conscious level and their beliefs at the subconscious level.

Whether you are a holistic practitioner, therapist, or someone who is finding it difficult to heal from an old emotional state that is limiting your life, the book Emotional Repatterning by Dr. Lisa Samet, can assist you in your work. Written in a clear, cogent style that is accessible to everyone it gives you suggestions on how to replace subconscious beliefs with new ones that can enhance your life.
Her basic premise is that as humans we all suffer from many of the same kinds of experiences, loss, grief, anger, and injustice as we search for solutions to our challenges. While the details may be different with each person the end result is often a debilitating distress that robs us of the present moment to live fulfilling lives.
She rightly asserts that most of us were never taught the tools we need to replace subconscious beliefs with news ones that will then enhance our lives. Her book gives us an excellent blueprint to begin this process.
When one of her own children had a life-threatening illness, Dr. Samet was faced with making difficult decisions that she did with courage, determination, and a self-examination that eventually brought her to another level of spiritual awareness. This awareness informs much of the observations of her book and gives it a deeper meaning as well.
In the first part of her book, Dr. Samet explains eight different patterns that can contribute to our suffering when not understood and how they operate and exist on a deep subconscious level. These patterns become the basis of each chapter.
For instance, the first chapter is called Self Love. In many ways it is one of the most important patterns since so many people don’t have a clue as to what it truly means to love themselves. If you don’t love yourself, how can you truly receive love from another?
The book addresses how these beliefs impact us, hold us back, and how to replace those beliefs with new ones as we let go of what no longer serves us. The chapters are also beautifully illustrated with examples of people who have worked with Dr. Samet successfully to move forward with new beliefs and away from the thinking traps we all create.
The second part of the book focuses on important tools Dr. Samet discovered and uses to help people make a shift towards a greater awareness and wellbeing. She discusses the skills needed to make these changes particularly when emotional issues are the central obstacle to healing. She believes overcoming fear and the loneliness of facing one’s challenges is central to moving forward. She also believes every challenge can be seen as a gift.
Dr. Samet speaks from experience and a deep spiritual conviction that Earth is a school that we all come to learn from when the difficulties of life confront us. She believes as humans we come here on a soul’s journey to learn wisdom, to evolve, and move out of the darkness towards the light of divine consciousness. She shows us that once you align your subconscious beliefs with your conscious ones, the doors to Co-creation open to a true healing.
Emotional Repatterning is an excellent gift for anyone who is ready to embrace a framework for change and acknowledge the Healer Within.

This inspiring and compassionate book adresses the connection between our emotional suffering and our unconscious beliefs. Using her own intensely moving personal stories and those of her patients, Lisa Samet conveys how our “thinking traps” keep us stuck and prevent us from evolving. We learn that the unconscious beliefs formed during our childhood experiences are the basis on which we interpret our lives and pattern how we view ourselves and conduct our relationships. The book also presents a relatively straight forward method to identify our limiting beliefs so we can change our personal narratives and ultimately heal our emotional pain. I would recommend it to anyone wishing to improve their emotional health and is willing to look at themselves as the source of their suffering but also of their healing.

I loved this book from the first sentence. It is full of warmth and compassion. It is personal and at the same time professional. It guides us through the way in which we develop the belief systems that generate our feelings and then influence our behaviours. Each chapter has examples of stories illustrating different points in a most understanding way. Crucially it then leads us to hope and healing. This is the entire point of therapy. Thank you Lisa for your wonderful book.

Very good read because of the way this book weaves together personal and professional stories. Dr. Samet then uses these real life stories to reflect on emotional patterns and how to rewrite them. The advice is useful in everyday life without being so complicated or too academic. Her sharing of such personal stories followed by her patient stories and analyses really makes this a book you want to keep reading from beginning to end and start applying the information to your own life as your are reading it. Highly recommend this book and thank you to it's author for putting it all out there.

I have know Lisa Samet for 20 years. This beautiful book is the culmination of her extensive healthcare experience and the lessons learned through a life-altering personal trauma. Through the telling of her own story, interwoven with case studies, Lisa has produced a highly readable, compassionate, helpful resource for anyone dealing with emotional trauma, in one form or another. And aren’t we all.

I started reading it and I couldn't put it down until I finish. All the cases that Lisa shared with us are inspiring and eye opener. The book was written in a way that was easy to understand letting the readers go deep into their thoughts and feelings. And most important, Lisa gives the readers tools to use during the journey of self improvement. Highly recommended.

The book was full of stories with little explanation. I wish the explanation of the technique was expressed in more detail.
