I think that sometimes with fanfics people focus too much on the relationship dynamics and forget about the rest, but this fic, my god, I feel like it has everything.

I loved every second I spent reading it, I loved their banter at the beginning, I loved how their walls started to crumble and I loved how not any of it felt forced despite only being a few days. I loved the little clues about betrayal, the subplots and the little details like Louis' sodomite scar and Niall's missing leg. I feel like they add so much to the plot and the reasoning behind the characters' actions.

But most of all, I loved how their sexuality is portrayed, how it is the very root of their fears and how deeply rejection and shame has cut them despite only being searching for happiness and freedom. I think it represents the queer experience in a realistic, painful and somehow beautiful way, and that it’s something that not a lot of authors manage to achieve.

I loved the writing, I loved the way the author expresses feelings - whether they are good or bad- and I loved how much this fic made me feel. And I think, one of the most wonderful things about literature and books in general is the ability to make us feel, and this fic simply delivered. I cried, I laughed, I felt betrayed and disgusted and extremely sad the moment I reached the last words.

Overall, it was beautifully written and planned, I loved every second of it and I can assure you, that this is going to be one of my top 5 books of this year (and maybe of all time too).

Thank you to the author for writing it and consequently giving me so much happiness for a couple of hours. You have an immense amount of talent and if you ever wish to get this work published, I hope you make it. I'll be the first one in line to buy it.

Read this super fast, it's only 400 pages. It was cute. Pirate fic with Captain Harry and Louis. Their relationship was sweet and I would've liked it to have been a bit more "slow-burny" but overall it was nice. Their relationship was cute and seeing their giddy-ness was nice as well. I think that it alludes to a big betrayal at the end, so I was constantly waiting for Harry to betray him and that did feel a bit disappointing. I think that if we hadn't been warned before it would've been more shocking. Overall, this was cute and sexy and I did find it sweet. The symbolism with the gems was really nice.
