4.5 stars - Pru and Eli have an instant connection and a salacious first encounter. It was unforgettable for both of them with no information exchanged so everything else is left to fate. And fate is a nasty being who takes a very tough road for Pru to get in Eli's path again.
There's humor, some one-upmanship, drama, sizzle, and a bit of a puzzle to sort out. I like the chemistry, the push and pull as life throws things in their way. I was proud of Pru for writing off Ross and his wife after what happened there. I was also happy to see things with Priscilla go in a positive direction after so much turmoil.
If you enjoyed earlier works in the series, you might remember that Eli has a daughter, Crystal. She is taken with Pru just as quickly as Eli is and it is sweet and fun to see that relationship build.
You don't need to read/listen to the prior books in the series to enjoy this book, but it will enhance the experience as there are character crossovers and references to the past. There is also a reference to the characters in the fifth book of the NY Knights series but it's brief.
I liked the narration by Emma Wilder and Lance Greenfield. I look forward to hearing both narrators in future books.
(audiobook) I’d have liked to be more surprised, as I had guessed every big revelation way before they appeared, but I still enjoyed it.
A single dad looking for a life partner on one hand, and a professional woman afraid of commitment on the other, yet they agree to a casual relationship because they’re attracted to each other–especially after their one night stand. I loved that they gradually made compromises. Eli is offering Pru space when she needs some, while Pru spends time with Eli’s daughter. They somewhat meet in the middle for some time, but of course, it can’t last. They don’t want the same thing. Or so they think.
I felt that, in the end, only Pru changed her view. In fact, this book is Pru’s story. Eli doesn’t have a real epiphany. He’s looking for a serious relationship, he finds out he wants it to be with Pru, he has to convince her that she wants it too. The end. Pru has a long journey to get there. She needs to order her priorities, figure out her relationship with her mother, deal with the absence of a father, and realize that what she fears is actually not that scary.
The fact that Eli is a celebrity isn’t that big of a deal. It’s Eli’s excuse to use a dating app and it explains his dating history, but it doesn’t cause any strain in his relationship with Pru. The celebrity burdens mostly fall on Tristan, Eli’s co-star. Clearly it isn’t at the center of the story.
There are however little bits here and there about women in the workplace and the casual sexism they endure. Between putting the blame on the female while absolving the male for the same mistake, and the way women are talked about compared to their male counterpart, the author definitely has things to say–or write–on the subject.
Though I love both narrators and they did a good job, I actually thought they weren’t good fit for the characters, nor for the overall energy of the story. Their narration was too slow, and sometimes the emotions weren’t there. They surprisingly did well with the side characters, in my opinion.
Quickie
- Series: Trojan #4 (can be read as a standalone) - Hashtags: #rockstar romance #celebrity romance #one night stand #workplace romance #single dad - Triggers: cheating from side character - Main couple: Prudence Edwards & Eli Lansing - Hotness: 4/5 - Romance: 4/5 - + Pru warming up to Eli’s daughter - – though both great, I didn’t think the narrators fit the story
I think this is my favorite book in the series and the finale. Eli has seen success as part of the band Trojan but is now starting a new phase of his life. He has new priorities as a single dad and thinking about settling down.
Pru is also at a crossroads, things seem to be falling apart, and she has no control. She can not stop thinking about her one-night stand and has taken a short-term job on a film being shot locally. Additionally, this job has put her in the path of Eli. Pru is not looking for forever, but she is up for fun. Will he change her mind?
Thank you to Booksprout and the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
The fourth book in the Trojan saga and like all of the others, it can be read as a stand-alone. Eli is looking for his HEA, Pru is looking for anything but; brave and forceful in every other area of her life, she is terrified of commitment. A chance encounter leads to a lasting memory; another chance encounter leads to a, what? In this series, SM West has examined all manner of relationships, and in this one, it is not just MF but parent/child. A wonderful story, with real concern for the reader that it will all go wrong. I'm going to miss this series.
This is the last book in the series but hopefully not the last time we'll hear from these characters. Hopefully the author will give us a taste in future books. I loved this installment in the series. It does pull your heart strings and I found myself teared up and sniffling at parts in the book. You wonder how these two can possibly make it together. I received an advanced copy from booksprout and I'm giving my honest and voluntary review.
This is book four in The Trojan Series and it is Eli and Pru's story. Eli and Pru met when they had a one night stand but even now they can't seem to stop thinking about each other. Pru didn't do relationships or commitments that way she couldn't be let down or hurt. Eli is a single dad I Crystal and would love to settle down with the perfect woman and that is Pru but first he has to break down the walls that she has built so high and he is determined to show Pru that she can find someone who will love her and not leave. I absolutely loved this book with it's twists and turns along with many emotional situations and I couldn't put it down as I wanted to see what the outcome would be for Eli and Pru. They had intense chemistry that you could feel it sizzling of the pages of this book and you found yourself hoping that they would eventually get there happy ending that they both deserved. I absolutely loved this series and I can't recommend it enough because you really need to read it and you will not be disappointed. S M West is an amazing author and writer and certainly knows how to keep reader's attention and on the edge of their seats.

Absolutely amazing end to the Trojan series!! Of all of them, Eli & Pru are my favorite couple!! Which is crazy considering I love them all! I think I just felt connected to Pru and the life she’s lived. I get her. Their story was amazing to watch as it progressed, and to see the fear and hesitation, and then her realization that those fears are not real. This book was so well written and I couldn’t put it down. The characters feel so connected to each other and leave their mark on your heart. Especially with Eli and all his friends, spouses and their kids. You can feel the ties between them and the love between them all. I Loved this book and the whole series!
Being new to Ms.West's work I've been wanting to pick up her books for quite some time now. As soon as i stumbled across a social media post about this book i knew i wanted to pick it up first! I enjoyed this story!
Eli and Pru's journey got my attention! I really liked how these two were brought together and how i wasn't quite sure how everything was going to play out. I enjoyed the fact that i felt many things with both characters as well!
With Rush, Ms.West has created a good read! I'm looking forward to going back and reading the previous books in this series!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from the author*
Pru's life has turned into a nightmare so she has a steamy one night stand with a stranger. Eli is the last member of the band. He has a daughter named Crystal. He had no idea that he and Pru would end up working on the set together. He would like much more than one night. Pru wasn't looking for a relationship but she can't resist Eli and his daughter Crystal. A good read and ending for the series.
I love a good story like Pru and Eli’s, who met again by chance after a one night stand. Something about these two just captured my attention with both their different wants in life but somehow when their together everything just melts alway and feels complete.

I think that Eli and Pru are my favorite couple in this series. I felt so sorry for Pru ... even though she had everything money could buy, she was alone. She never knew her father and her mother worked abroad leaving Pru at boarding school or in someone else's care. Pru didn't know what a family was like. I loved that Eli didn't shirk his responsibility when he got a groupie pregnant. He became a single father and loved his daugther so much that he changed his whole lifestyle. I just wanted Pru to see what she had right in front of her was what she always wanted as a child and she could have it all now. This story made my heart hurt.
Eli and Pru have a one-night stand ... no names, no phone numbers, just sex in a club's washroom. Eli was in the band Trojan and when they broke up, he changes his career to acting and has his first movie role. He never thought he'd see her again, never mind on the movie set as his dialect coach ... and when he does, their hot night together comes rushing back. Pru got fired from the company she is a partner in and has been blackballed in the business industry ... and she doesn't exactly know why. So she takes on a totally different job ... a dialect coach on a movie set. She can't stop thinking about him and never thought she'd see him again ... but there he is, standing across the trailer from her with his mouth hanging open. The chemistry between them is off the charts ... but they want totally different things. Eli wants a wife and mother for his daughter ... and Pru NEVER wants to be a wife or mother.
This is an excellent series and I'm sad that it's over. But I can't wait to see what Ms West does next.
I received an early copy courtesy of the author in exchange for a honest review
emotional Really like this author and this series - Eli, single parent, ex rock star and now actor and making his first film after finding success with tv series. Pru, recently fired as COO for a company started with her best friend Ross & his wife is making sure she is blacklisted, speaking several languages fluently takes a short term contract as coach on a film with Ross's brother as director. When this couple meet, they both realise that their first meeting was a one night and now working together brings them closer. Eli and his daughter welcome her wholeheartedly and committed into their lives and future. Pru, is firmly set to be single and family free, whilst everyone around her finds peace and happiness. Despite being loved and cared for, Pru enters the relationship with Eli believing she is being open and honest with him insisting she wants casual only, hiding behind her dismal childhood with a cold, self centred, work driven and focused, absent mother - she is not very nice at times and her behaviour is cruel, throwing his kindness and generosity back in his face - in fact is she had looked inwards she would have seen that she was closed and dishonest, especially with herself and it takes her friend Harley to get through her wall of being selfish, self absorbed and self serving. Love wins in the end, and a relationship has developed and cemented the couple as a family. The author remains true to Pru's character; whilst there is a HEA it gives the impression that Pru will never give 100% to anyone to her than herself, described in Eli acknowledging that they may never be married because it is not something Pru wants and Eli acceptance of this limit

Pru's life is unraveling at the seams, she just lost her job, was blacklisted across the city and now she is on the outs with her mother. Something seriously has to give... she needs just one thing to go her way. Then it happens, one little job offer on a movie set. It's not a glamourous job, but it's one that will pay the bills... and also change the course of her life, it she lets it.
Rush is a is a passionate and emotive story of second chances and love finding you when you least expect it. They shared one blissful night together and then disappeared out of one another's lives, but fate is about to reunite them. When Pru accepted the job offer she never thought it would lead her to the man that invades her fantasies every night, seeing Eli again is so unexpected. It may also be the blessing she was hoping for or wind up being another dreaded curse.... only time will tell!
He has came into her life at a time where she isn't really ready for anything that warrants a label, and that is exactly what he wants. He wants to explore the connection they have and see where it leads, and all she wants is a few repeats of their hot one night stand. She find herself at a crossroads, she must either chase the answers she has been seeking for a long time or let her heart lead her to a happily ever after she never thought would happen....
From the first sentence this one had me intrigued and just curious enough to see where the words would lead me, it was quite the enticing tale! I loved what I found between the pages here, the words tugged on my heartstrings, and the connection between the characters not only kept the pages warm, but also made it impossible to pry my eyes away. Another impressive read from this author, her wonderfully penned words thoroughly entertained! Highly recommend!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
Pru was not one for relationships and commitments, matter of fact she doesn't plan on getting married ever. Used to being alone she learned that to rely on herself is the safest way to keep from getting hurt. Also not one for one night stands she hooked up with a guy the night after she got fired from her job and her world fell apart. Pitching up for her new, even though temporary job, she didn't expect to run into the mystery man. Eli could not get her out of his mind but they did not even exchange names. So imagine his surprise when his new language coach turns out to be the woman he has been fantasizing about. The decided to keep it professional but it was a challenge to keep their distance. Especially when he found out they lived in the same building. But Eli was looking for someone who could be his forever, creating a home with him and his daughter, something never in the plans for Pru. Could he show her that she is worth so much more than she believes, can he make her believe in a future of love? Or will she be too scared tomtake the leap and walk away from what could be? This is a story about a child growing up believing that she was not really wanted, craving love and attention from her mother, ending up believing that being alone is preferable to rejection. But it is also of forgiveness and hope, of the potential of love and the healing that can bring.

“She feels like mine. I want her to be mine and yet I don’t want to scare her off.”
Rush is the final book in the Trojan series and it’s finally Eli’s turn. Eli is ready to settle down and make a life with his daughter and that special someone. He first meets Pru when they have a one-night stand and he can’t get her out of his mind. When they cross paths again, he’s determined to explore their connection, but he has to convince Pru to give them a chance.
“I see you. You don’t ever have to hide from me.”
Pru can’t stop thinking about her night with Eli either, but she she has sworn off marriage and family because everyone she loves eventually lets her down and leaves her. She has to confront her past and make peace with it before she can move toward her future. Eli recognizes this and his patience and love towards Pru is so beautifully emotional. He seems to know just what she needs. Basically, Eli was such a sweetheart and I absolutely adored him. Pru and Eli were perfection!
As always, S.M. West creates an engaging, emotional, and passionate love story full of humor and angst. She’s not afraid to delve into complicated issues and her characters are so full of life. I am always completed immersed in her stories and they make me feel everything. It’s bittersweet to say goodbye to the guys of Trojan, but I’m hopeful that we might see them again someday.
As a single father trying to separate his fame from who the man he is, Eli is struggling in the dating department. No woman he meets on his sophisticated dating app seems to fire his blood the way a recent one night stand did. He didn't get her name, but he can't forget her face or the way she made him feel. A twist of fate lands them on a movie set together, and into each other's lives again. But how eager is Prudence to believe that what they have is forever?
"...we're destined to meet and be together in every one of our lives."
Prudence aka Pru is flailing about since the company she helped create kicked her out. Blacklisted and in-between jobs, she isn't exactly eager to work on a movie set. But then she is introduced to one of the main actors and is shell-shocked to realise he was her unforgettable one night stand. With walls high because of her past, Pru is afraid of the life Eli promises.
"There's a pull between us. Undeniable and electric."
Pru and Eli's story moves fast, but their connection is unmistakable and believable. I liked the way Eli did everything possible to give Pru the assurance that he was 100% invested in them. He never gave her any occasion to doubt him. She didn't stand a chance!
"You can give me your worst, and Pru Edwards, I'll still be here."
I enjoyed this book. It's the right amount of sweet and steamy, wrapping up the series.
I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book.
This one is bittersweet because it's the end of the Trojan series now that the last band member is finding love. It seems like I waited forever for Eli's story, and now he's finally met the love of his life. And his daughter, Crystal, adores this special lady, so even better.
Except Pru isn’t looking for love, or even a relationship. Her life has taken a dramatic turn towards dumpster fire, and for one glorious night she acts out of character and shares a tryst with a mysterious stranger. She thinks of that night often and vows there wouldn’t be a repeat even if she knew the man's name, until she shows up for her new job on a movie set and comes face to face with her mystery man.
Of all the guys in Trojan, Eli is the one who's actually looking for an HEA, so of course he falls for a relationship-adverse lady. But it certainly makes for some angsty, entertaining reading. And really, Pru doesn’t stand a chance because Eli makes it impossible for her to keep her heart out of the equation. Touching and full of feels, but steamy and swoony, this will be one of your best reads this year, so make sure you don’t miss it!
A wonderful conclusion to the Trojan series leaves you as reader wanting more!
The last ex Trojan band member Eli has a steamy one night stand with a stranger in a bar and thought he would never see her again……..
Until the new dialect coach gets introduced to him at the set where he is filming a movie!
Pru a successful COO of a company with her friend from college gets fired and ends up having the best one night stand of her life at the bar salon where she and her friend went for cheering Pru up.
She can’t get that sexy man with the chocolate eyes out of her mind although she is a commitment phobe and thrives on hookups!
She ends up being a dialect coach on a movie set for two sexy as hell actors one being her one night stand……
So this is where their story begins. Eli is looking for a long standing relationship with a woman like Pru who he connects with to give his daughter a family and Pru is planning to leave Manhattan for Madrid or the UN……

Rush is about the last band member of the Trojan series, Eli. He meets Pru for a one night stand but he can't get her out of his head. Pru doesn't do relationships or love or even one night stands but her life just fell apart even more than what she thought was bad before.
Eli has a daughter Crystal. He wants Pru to join his little family. Crystal also loves Pru. The chemistry is there; the characters both feel a pull but Pru is fighting it. S.M. West has written another great addition to the series. This book has all the feels I have come to expect from the author. Although this is probably the last of the series (since we have read about each member) but I hope we can touch base with these characters again.
They are such a great couple. I love that we get to see how a chance meeting really can come back a second time around. Priest is such a confident and accomplished women in the business side of her life an yet she is so afraid of letting people close. I love that we get to see how Eli and Crystal break down her walls and convince her that she can indeed let people in and trust them. This is such a beautiful story. I love that she is very matter of fact with the macho men and tells it like it is, not intimidated. Such a beautiful end to this series. Loved that they all got their happily ever after.
Well I hated to see this series end! Not sad just a bit of relief and these characters have come to life in the best possible way to us the reader! Listen this series has stuck around long after I have finished each book. With each book you get to see the brilliance within shining through Miss West to deliver a fantastic remarkable series! Each character will pull at your heart and shatter your soul. Eli and Pru have so much going for them and some so much not! He wants a HEA and Pru just wants a ever after happy or not! This series is not one to be missed! So come on over and meet the men of Trojan and the women who love them!
I think Eli's story might be my favorite. I love his closeness with the other guys and the way he puts Crystal first. There's something about him that just made me melt. Pru is the strong kind of woman that I love to see as a main character. However underneath, she is afraid of love and all it entails. This book is as much about overcoming your fears as it is about love. About confronting your past in order to move forward with your future. This was a fantastic finale to the Trojan series.
I have really enjoyed this series, this is the fourth book. Eli and Pru's story, she is a strong heroine that is not big on relationships that is until Eli but it does not come easy because she fights it. A time to deal with the past to get to have and enjoy the future. Well written and a great read. I recommend reading this especially if you have read the others in the series.

loved it !!! love this series !!! love Eli... swoon... love Pru... strong.... this is their story... a fast paced drama... one night... that's all it was... wasn't it ? Pru's life has gone down the drain.. she has just that one night to remember... until, yeah, she sees him... she just wants some fun... he wants forever... can he convince her to give him a chance ? can his daughter help with that ?

Rush is the completion of this series, and while it makes me sad, it is so emotionally wrenching that you cannot help but be happy for the players of Trojan finding their happiness. I liked the twists to the story that kept you invested in finding out what happened next.
Rush is the fourth and last book in the Trojan series. This story is about Eli and Pru's, and his daughter Crystal. When Eli and Pru have a one night stand that rocks both their worlds it is going to be hard to forget. So when their paths cross once again will they be able to develop that connection they felt into an actual relationship? It would be easier if Eli didn't have to also try and convince Pru that they are meant to be together. But between him and Crystal have faith that there is a sweet and emotional HEA coming at the end.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
This is the fourth and final story in the "Trojan" series. It is a stand alone read about Eli and Pru. This is such a good read that is heartfelt and a little emotional. Eli is looking for his bit of sunshine and happiness instead of meaningless sex. Pru is struggling and is skittish when it comes to commitment. However, the electrifying chemistry between them cannot be denied. This is a wonderful story that I could not put down. I love how one night leads to an interesting journey.
