Message from Ekta - Author of The Voice of Kali

It’s a book that I hope every mother reads to her young daughter before she embarks on the journey to womanhood, so she is aware of the dormant innate power she holds. It’s also a book that I wish that every daughter gifts her mother so she may honour her energy and purpose in life. It is also my wishful desire that a man gifts this book to the woman in his life so she may embrace her power and expand her aura for the world to see. But beyond all my wishes, I truly hope and pray that it is a book that women give to themselves, so they may learn to tap into their immense beautiful aura of Kali.

The Voice of Kali by Ekta Bajaj, as the title suggests is a poetry collection consisting of spiritual poetries with the motive to prompt us to get in touch with out inner Kali.
I honestly was very excited to read this, but I was disappointed with the content and at parts with the writing too.
The poetries are good, there are pictures in the book too, which are descriptive and very expressive.
Coming to what did not work for me, it was right there in the introduction. There's this part where the author is telling about how Kali is there in every mother. And right in the next line it's written that a mother changes to a "Gorilla" from the caring and compassionate version once her child is hurt. I don't think that was the correct word (?) to describe the Kali in every woman out there. This comparison or simile is not the proper one. The next part came in a musing which went on and on about why women are afraid in the dark, and how the fear is their inner Kali, at least that is what I understood from what was written. Which again, I don't think makes sense, to me it personally does not.
Coming to the writing, it is confusing, I think it could have been better, especially with the parts which are musings. The poetry is all great, and that's what the three stars is for.
I understand that a lot of work goes in writing a book, but I think the written text didn't do justice to its theme, and that it could have been edited in a better manner.
Will recommend it to those looking for a short read.

Over the past few years, International Women’s Day has marked a new dimension for women globally. Breaking the borders of national, ethnic, cultural, and linguistic orientations, this day celebrates the achievements of women from all walks of life. Women Empowerment through Poetry maps down the distinct roles of women, their journey, barriers on the way and sagas of overcoming hurdles. The heterogeneity of poems in this book reminds us of all the challenges and struggles women have faced and made a way for them to walk on. From dealing with inequality to standing up for her ‘self’ and from demanding ‘A room of one’s own’ to creating ‘freedom of mind and place’, she gripped her belonging with all her unsettling thoughts in this settled world.

Because this is your year to live the life of your dreams, to heal, to witness, to be the one who queens. Once a silent star in the sky, lost, alone, and unnoticed, she began to dream her life awake.
Crafting together the power of words and womanhood, writer Ekta Bajaj has written a completely unique poetry collection fit for the phenomenal readers of today.
With much success, and aims to help her large audience grow from struggle to sparkle with every word she writes. Bajaj's work inspires readers to find power in their sensitivity, care in their vulnerability, sparkle in their suffering, imagination in their imperfections, and un-shame their pain into soulful purpose.

May we raise the bar for how we live our lives. May we ridiculously increase the amount of peace, play, creativity, beauty, love, and joy in everything we do. May we all sip from the wisdom of our suffering. And awaken with the courage to share our stories that can heal our inner and outer worlds.

This 44-chaptered book focuses on the feminine energy present within each of us. Be it male or female, there is a combination of male and female energy within all. But in women, this energy innately empowers them and comes naturally.
The contents look simple yet the meaning is profound. Kali is usually associated with darkness and anger but this book shows how women can evoke that kali within them to reach new heights both mentally and morally. Women need not put up with all the nonsense that she has to go through but can fight it and come out of obstacles when she realizes the energy within themselves.
One of the interesting and my favorite chapter is Kali and Buddha. Though both of them are polarities, both principles complement each other. Here is how - When a woman is ridiculed, blamed, tortured, demeaned, blamed, etc, she reaches for the light to give her strength which is Buddha. Then the Kali in her helps her to stand and fight those and guides the war to win it!
There are both poems and passages each of which excels one another. Some places in the narrative got a bit exhaustive and oversimplified but that can be overlooked considering the other good features in this book.

The sketches in between the pages add to the value of the content. The proverbs/ sayings are very meaningful and true, making one realize the energy within. The cover of the book is beautiful with an artistic representation of Kali.
The poetry and messages' language is simple and easy to understand.
In all a nice book to read if you are looking for something to pep you up and gear yourself to be independent and confident. It will make the reader realize the power within themselves and choose which one should be dominant.

"We are nothing but Vessels. Pour, don't store."

Book ~ The Voice of Kali
Author ~ Ekta Bajaj

Women have demonstrated a fierce determination to survive in society by living their lives to the fullest. However, just like a coin has two sides, women also experience breakdowns from time to time. We always choose to display our more courageous side while hiding our frailer side.

I've often pondered what it takes to be multifaceted, multitalented, and multitasking as a woman, including how a mother might use it to teach her daughter about her beliefs and the strength she possesses.. I've always felt strong as a woman and occasionally awww-stuck to see other women succeed in so many areas of life.

Mentioning some of the titles of the poems:
▪︎Circle of healing
▪︎The empowered warrior woman
▪︎Words to evoke your inner warrior
▪︎Cleansing the soul
▪︎Dreams are messages from another dimension
▪︎Follow your calling
▪︎Melody of a soul
▪︎Understanding trust
▪︎Spiritual dancers of the same tribe
▪︎Beauty of a woman
▪︎Embracing relationships
▪︎A new beginning

A comparison of Buddha and Kali together is also included in the book, which is both intriguing and novel to read. Additionally, a mother might be thanked by giving this book to her, and it elegantly discusses how a husband should treat or make his wife feel. Thus, the book is a combination of feminine power, and the paintings are excellent.

I adored how the texture was different and could be touched with the naked eye. It enhanced the book's rustic feel and complemented the book cover. Because two extreme characteristics of women are described at the same time, the content can be a little confusing at times.

Again, I got the opportunity to read a poetry book that described women and their inner potential. It also includes a comparison of women's power with Kali, which is quite interesting. A glimpse of the book shares a few points, like how this book can be helpful for a mother to teach her daughter about her values and the power hidden inside her. Also, this book can be given to a mother to show her gratitude, and how a husband can make or treat his wife is discussed neatly.
The book also includes a comparison of Buddha and Kali together, which is indeed interesting and new to read. We have seen women live their lives with full force, fighting back hard to survive in society. But still, women also break down at one point, just like a coin has two sides. We always prefer to show the bold side of ourselves and hide the weaker side. This difference is expressed in the book and keeps us engaged. Because all women out there can relate to this book. WOMAN ARE BORN POWERFUL AND WEAK AT THE SAMETIME! EVERYTHING IS OUR CHOICE!

The small print beneath the title says it is spiritual poetry and messages to invoke the female warrior energy. So as it shows it combines both verse and prose to empower women through Kali and also at the same time tries to be spiritual..This book is highly confusing regarding what the writer actually wants to accomplish.Lines like 'the age of Buddha and kali is dawning' seems to confuse more as there is no background material or any reference to how is it happening.
Further there are over simplifications and generalisations that women are naturally and innately empowered beings. Compassion empathy and discipline are her natural state.'.

Most of the places it seems more like new age religion musings instead of any solid research and at others more like a rant from a particular gender point of view .The small poems and illustrations only break the tedium of this book.
It is an individual choice to read and enjoy it.

The Voice of Kali is an empowering spiritual poetry book that talks about liberation and inner transformation to realise the powers within a woman.
It surely boosts up the feminine energy and makes us realise about the dormant innate power we hold. It talks how Kali is a part of us and how we are a part of her and how she is there with us in our problems and we bow to her in awakening. The poetry is deep, subtle yet a lot for one to introspect on. There are messages on empowerment, awakening, realisation, love, patience, wisdom, grace, oneness and the moment!

A beautiful read ♥️ and such a beautiful cover it has!!

This is a very different book from what I usually read. What attracted me towards this book would be it's name. It definitely got me intrigued to get going.
.
This book is basically an amalgamation of poetry, pictures, descriptions and comments. I liked what it tried to represent and the idea behind this book for the people who can relate to it.
.
The poems were really good. What I really loved was the format in which the book was set, it's a small book and the format helped to keep it engaging.
.
Though sometimes a few topics might come off as overly generalized, it's still a short book and a nice little read.
.
Happy Reading ~~~

Number of Pages: 114
ISBN: 978-9394603295
Genre: Poetry

The book is a combination of both thought provoking poem and message which aims to strengthen the might and will a women possess in herself. Women's are superhuman who are blessed with power of being two sides of a same coin. Are you confused, what it means to be two sides of a same coin!!

Yes womens can be as soft as a flower and at times as powerful as a lion. This gives us the magic to do and manage multiple task at the same times.

Being a women, I have also wondered what it takes to be the multi-talented, multi-tasking, and multidimensional. I have always felt empowered over being a women and at times awww stuck to see fellow women do so much in life successfully.

The book is thus an amalgamation of feminine power and the paintings used is brilliant. The difference in texture could be felt by naked eyes and I loved it so much. It added a rustic feel for the Book complimenting the book cover.

At sometimes the content was bit confusing as two extreme features of women is described at a same time.
