MY RATING: 3.5/5

OVERVIEW:
The activity of the enemy nation is suspicious. During the border patrol the Indian wing commander Anand got caught behind the enemy lines. The momentary peace is broken between the two countries when an Indian paramilitary convoy in Pulwama is struck with explosives in the homeland. Countless deaths of Indian soldiers lead to anger amongst the citizens. What followed the deadly Pulwama attack is far more deadlier than we expect. As Clinton Joseph of the NIA sets to catch the masterminds behind the attack, he smells something fishy, his investigation leads him to various clues. Can this be another trick of the enemy nation to accomplish something bigger?

REVIEW:
14/2 The Attack on Pulwama is a historical fiction with two stories coming together to tell a riveting saga of what happened after the Pulwama Attack. This book is based on real incidents of Pulwama attack, Balakot air-strike or operation Bandar, the capture of Wg. Cdr Abhinandan Varthaman who was held captive in Pakistan for 60 hours after his aircraft was shot down in an aerial dogfight and also the abrogation of Article 370 of the Indian Constitution.

This work of fiction is developed from real incidents of Indian history. I love to read historical fictions especially on political, diplomatic relations and war. This book was quite engaging to read but it was so short. I wanted it to be more descriptive and elaborate. But it ended so abruptly. The book has barely 135 pages to contain the whole story so obviously many informations have been omitted.

Due to the nature of the content authors have used fictional names to the characters. Talking about the plot arrangements, it is good with two plots running parallelly and they are interconnected to avoid confusion. I loved the ending, it's probably my favourite part in the whole book. The book maybe fictional but the facts aren't and that's the sole reason to give this book a try and it's worth it.

We all know who the real heroes of a country are. They fight for their motherland forgetting about their own lives, they always choose the soil where they took birth over their own family and their own life; but have we ever thought what actually they are going through in order to protect us? This book will give you a vivid picture of what actually happens with them. The gruesome reality that our national heroes face yet stand in front of those realities with a smile for the sake of the love they have for their land.

The story starts where Commander Anand gets trapped in the hands of the enemy country but it leads to many sides of human beings; their love, their hatred, etc. The story is narrated through various scenes which are like pieces of puzzle and only after adding the last piece of puzzle can the picture be complete. A round of applause to the authors for this brilliant way of narration.

Among all the scenes, I personally loved the interrogation scene of Joseph and Khaled where it made me feel sorry for humanity and sad for the ruining of beautiful souls through brainwashing; brainwashing to the extent where every drop of humanity gets sucked out and replaced by venom named Hatred.

The book also added a twist at the end by cleverly adding one of the most recent controversial topics of India, abrogation of Article 370. I'm not going to divulge more because now it's your work to find out what the book holds and what you can learn from it.

So my dear friends, let's open our eyes and get to know the kind of life our beloved soldiers live happily, for us. And after knowing that, as a normal citizen, my only request is to let's try our best to make our motherland a better place, filled with love and humanity, so that their sacrifices don't go to waste.

Thank You!

Kashmir has been a disputed territory and India and Pakistan had fought several times for claiming it. The 2019 Pulwama attack happened on 14 February 2019 was one of the attacks of Pakistan for the the same tension between the two countries.
It's 2021 now yet the Pulwama attack's memories are fresh in each and every Indian citizen's memory lane.
The attack had killed 40 Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel as well as the culprit of this attack—Adil Ahmad Dar—who was a local Kashmiri youth from the Pulwama district itself.
The authors have taken a tough incident as the theme of the book yet I would say they have presented a good book with all the facts and information of the attack. The book is inspired by the 14/2 attack in Pulwama and that is why it will definitely touch the hearts of the people. I haven't read any fictional book depicting an attack scene and the actions taken by the country after it. So it was an emotional yet informative and interesting one for me to read.
The investigation and steps taken by the country followed after this incident are written down in a very simple and easy manner which makes this a brilliant book to read and embrace.Different characters have been given sufficient scope to contribute to the book in their own way plus each character has been well penned down by the authors. It's definitely a must read for all. The language used is lucid.

A complete package of entertainment and facts.

I have always been curious to know about Pulwama attack. In 2019, when I visited Pulwama the local residents told a complete different story to what other know. So I was very keen on knowing about it and then I got this book this year.

The book is a mix of real facts and fiction where the incident is real but the investigation is fictional. It talks about the dreadful attack of 14 February 2019, Operation Bandar, the captivity of Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman and also the abrogation of article 370.

The book consists of 18 chapters with only 135 pages. I wouldn't say that was disappointing but I wanted more. This book worked reality with fiction very well.
The narration is quite good. It definitely will give a feel of patriotism when you are reading it.

The cover goes well with the book plot.
The book is a complete package of entertainment and facts.

The 2019 Pulwama attack occurred on 14 February 2019, when a convoy of vehicles carrying Indian security personnel on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway was attacked by a vehicle-borne suicide bomber at Lethapora (near Awantipora) in the Pulwama district of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is an awesome book which describes all the incident very well. The author has used very simple and easy words . The writing style is very nice . This book is filled with thriller and it is a roller coaster of thriller experience . The investigation in the book is really very suspensive and it keep us turning the pages . Overall it's an amazing book and it's really a very short read and I would recommend it to every Indian citizen to read it .

My Rating 4.3 🌟
This is quite a short and gripping read and the storytelling is about the incident which all of us know the 14/2 Pulwama Attack and about the Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman ( the pride of our nation) who was held by Pakistan.

But the twist in the book is the author has portrayed it as fictional story by changing some details and names here and there due to the sensitive content which was completely not an issue but It should have been more elaborated and detailed, as that would have made it much more gripping.

The plot and narration was apt obviously where two stories are running simultaneously without any confusion. It is one the fictional tale on real incident which shall not be missed at all . Rest an interesting and eye opening read.

An interesting story based on events of Pulham attack and events which occurred after that. The author had tried to connect the dots about what led to this heart wrenching incident and how India faced the challenges after that.
The language is flawless and narration is medium paced and engaging.
The story is crafted in a way that it feels new despite knowing all the events .
A nice read.

Book is based on the 2019’s Terrorist attack. Pulwama Attack was one the attacks that shock India, I didn’t knew too much information about the attacks but this book is almost totally based upon the facts and the mixture of fiction given the authors to this book is amazing. Book explains the e vents that took place on the day of valentine day of 2019. Dual stories are running parallel to each other. One is of an officer named as Anand and other is of the Clinton Joseph. Book was short, informative about the facts and amazing writing make this book extraordinary. This book will make your patriotism wake up.

FAB - BOOK REVIEW OF "14/2: The Attack on Pulwama" by Smita Agarwal and Vikas Trivedi.

Genre: Fiction(Miltary History)

Rating - 4.5/5

QOTD: What was the first reaction when you heard that there is an attack on Pulwama?

"14/2: The Attack on Pulwama" by Smita Agarwal and Vikas Trivedi. This book is based on the Pulwama attack in our country, called "Black Day." On the day of the episode, we've lost 40 souls of the soldiers, the bravest men of our country. This incident was dark and remained so. This book has taken that incident with some fictional characters and deck added to it. In this book, two stories go in parallel to each other and are interlinked at the end. And guys, trust me, you will think how both the stories will be interlinked in the middle of the book. This book thrills you!
The story starts with the Indian Pilot named Anand Varthaman, an asset to the IAF(Indian Air Force), who has entered Pakistan. Before he was found out to the Pakistani people(village people), another pilot whom Anand was chasing a Pakistani Pilot. The village people thought that the Pakistani Pilot was an Indian. And he was on the ground as while he was in the plane, Anand shot him. The villagers misunderstood the whole episode and hurt him so badly, and he was dead. Later Anand was also caught then he is in the observation of the Pakistani Government. Later in his life comes Nandini, who later becomes his wife, who is also from the Air Force Department.
.
Another story is of Mr. Joseph Clinton, an investigator who is very kind at heart but never showed any emotions on his face or believes in them. After getting the divorce from his wife, which was 5 years ago. He got the news that 40 Indian soldiers have been killed because of the blast on Pulwama. He went to the spot, and for the first time in his career, he couldn't control his emotions and reminisced the incident quite a lot of time. No, he is not afraid of blood. He has seen it many times in his life, but looking at our Jawans' dead souls in a very unrecognizable state has made him feel so emotional. So he is working on the case to solve it very soon about how the incident took place and everything. Leena(RAW) is also working on this case.
Mr. Joseph met some criminals in the Dolly3, where the criminals who were so cruel were kept in jail forever. There he interrogated Al- Khaled. But at the end of the investigation, he dies. This is the second time that is happening. It has happened before as well with another Pakistani criminal who wants to destroy India.
.
Why did the same incident repeat? Will Mr. Cintion will be able to solve the case? The language in the book is lucid. The book is short too, and I enjoyed reading it.

Jai Hind! Jai Bharat!

QOTD: How’s the Josh? Remember something? Let me know in the comment section

Book: 14/2 : The Attack on Pulwama
Author: Smita Agarwal, Vikas Trivedi
Publisher: Leadstart Publishing Pvt Ltd
Genre: Military History
Format: Paperback
Pages: 152
Rating: 4.5/5

This book narrates the story about 14/2 attack on Pulwama. Though the incident is real, but a zing of fiction has been used. The investigation carried out to know the master minds behind the attack on India , is really engaging and intriguing. The chapter dealing with abrogation of Section 370 was also interesting.
The language is easy, lucid and flowy. The writing style is engaging. The whole story keeps the reader glued. Narrations are vivid. Dialogues are well crafted and in sync with the characters developed. I was glued to the book. Due to time crunch, had to read it in different sittings but I loved the read. The way fiction and facts are mixed together, is really appreciated. The fiction and facts entwined so well that at places it was difficult to decipher which is which. Characters are well sketched out. Chapters are given catchy headings. Use of bold and italics font at places has its own significance.

The book has some good book suggestions too. Also, I remembered a few good books I read ‘ Letters from Kargil’ by Diksha Diwedi and ‘Black Warrant’ by Sunil Gupta. I donot know why but I remembered the book ‘Da Vinci Code’ by Dan Brown while reading the investigation part.

The suggestions I would like to make is as a reader I felt there should have been more turns and twists in the investigation process. That would have added more spice to the whole book giving the reader more adrenaline rush into the body.

The cover page and title are really captivating. It was because of them that I picked up the book. The quality of paperback is fine. The font size , style and spacing are good enough to make it an easy read. I really love such yellow paper quality. I look forward to read from from the authors.

Quoting some quotes from the book:
“A good hunter is the one who can kill the beast. A better hunter is the one who can negotiate with his savagery.”
“One death is a tragedy; a million death is a statistic.”
“Wars are inexpensive. Freedom is invaluable. That is the greatest dilemma.”

If you love to read military fiction that too a short read, this book is perfect pick for you! Also, I recommend this book must be read by every Indian to know the hardships faced by the Indian people who are captured in other enemy foreign countries.

Book: 14/2: The Attack On Pulwama
Author: Vikas Trivedi and Smita Agarwal
Genre: Fiction (Military History)

"Theoretically, human rights exist
everywhere. Practically, they exist on your side of the barbed wire"

On 14 February 2019, when a convoy of vehicles carrying Indian security personnel was attacked by a vehicle-borne suicide bomber in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir took the lives of 40 CRPF jawans.

In its first scene, Indian Wing Commander Anand Varthaman (Son of an Ex-Air Force maven and married to Nandini who is also a helicopter pilot) shot down Pakistan's F-16 while he was flying in the combat, Varthaman's MiG-21 was hit by a missile forcing him to eject and he landed in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).

People were looking at him like apes in a group. Anand was lynched. Some said to flay his skin or to burn him alive. A radio, a 9mm Glock, and a few cigars were enough to celebrate their 'kill'. Later Pakistan soldiers captured him to interrogate him. However, Pak returned him to India on March 1 after holding him captive for almost 60 hours.

The third scene of the book took me to the past and introduced Clinton Joseph, Lead Investigation officer of the NIA. He had mastered his emotions and was a man of rationale and facts. He solved multiple cases with a speciality in investigating acts of terror and the minds behind them. He was the kind of man who would never ask for anything, but if he does, he would never take NO for an answer

Leena, a young cybersecurity expert from IIT-Delhi who worked with Joseph in past too, took a flight to Kashmir for assisting in Pulwama Attack's ongoing investigation. She was a troubled kid.

The same chapter also introduced Al-Khaled. He killed hundreds of men but his eyes showed no sign of guilt, his stature resembled those of the barbarians. He was rarely seen sleeping by the security team members.

The investigation moved towards the right direction and On 26 Feb 2019, the Balakot airstrike was conducted by India, when Indian warplanes crossed the LOC and dropped bombs in the vicinity of the town of Balakot in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan.

The last two chapters revolved around Article 370. On 5 August 2019, the Government of India revoked the special status granted under Article 370 of the Indian Constitution to Jammu and Kashmir.

These two chapters introduced a "spicy chemistry" between Bibi Nafeesa Mufti, CM of Jammu and Kashmir, and Vineet Jamwal, Indian National Security Advisor.

This novel took two years of research by Vikas and Smita. Great job!! Jai Hind 🇮🇳

Book Title: 14/2: The Attack on Pulwama
Author: Vikas Trivedi & Smita Agarwal
Format: Kindle

My Thoughts:
Based on the actual incident, authors Vivek Trivedi and Smita Agarwal gave their readers an inspiring and interesting story that involves action, emotion, patriotism, unconditional love, valour and responsibility. In this 134 page book, there is no single place where the reader's mind get off track. This is fine work in the realistic fiction genre. I recommend this book to every book lover.

What to expect from the story?
This is the story of the motherland. This is the story of the heroes who sacrifice lives for the homeland. This is the story to be remembered for a longer time to commemorate the fallen souls.

Who can read?
This book is for everyone. No exemptions required.

How good are the characters?
The hero of the story is Clinton Joseph, the NIA personnel. He drives the story with his observation and investigation giving him leads to the mastermind behind the attack and evolving into a perfect counter strike; this character will keep the readers' mental adrenaline intact. Some important supporting characters also drive the story forward.

How good is the narration?
An engaging and involving narration is found in the story. With facts mingled perfectly with the fiction sub-plots, the story flow is consistent.

How good are the language and grammar?
A simple and easy English language with adequate grammar constructs is found in the book. Because of the universally acceptable language, the book can be read by readers of any age. It would be great if the school children and other youngsters include this book in their collection.

How good is the Authors' writing style?
This happens to be my second book from the author duo, Vivek Trivedi and Smita Agarwal. Creating a magical & gripping narration is rather simple English language is one of their traits. As in their previous book I read, this book, 14/2: The Attack on Pulwama, has good story-telling, interesting sub-plots, intelligent narration and honest emotions.

How entertaining is the book?
The book is a story woven around the dreadful incident that happened in February 2019 at
Pulwama village, Jammu & Kashmir. The action sequences, the emotional quotient and two interesting tales running parallel make the book extremely interesting.

Final Verdict
A gripping tale not to be missed!

"What if you were tasked with the protection of the land of your forefathers? What if you were to raid the skies, the land, and the seas for liberation? What if you stepped into the lands of butchers? What if you were killed..... Only to live?"

There has been continual tension going on between India & Pakistan since independence. There have been many wars, terrorist attacks, and disputes between these two countries. On February 14, 2019, a terror attack was carried out in Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir by a suicide bomber resulting in the death of 40 CRPF personnel. The suicide bomber, Adil Ahmed Dar, rammed his vehicle into a bus with the CRPF convoy.

In response to this deadly attack, “Operation Bandar” was carried out on 26th Feb, 2019 by IAF using Mirage-2000 fighters against the major terrorist training facility at Balakot in Pakistan.

In “14/2: The Attack on Pulwama”, @vikas_trivedi_dr & @smita.agarwal wove a fictional story based on these two real life incidents. There are two stories going on parallely: one is of Clinton Joseph of NIA who is assigned with a secret job of catching the masterminds of Pulwama attack which intersects with the present story in which an airstrike conducted by IAF leads to the capture of Wg.Cdr Anand in Pakistan.

Two stories blend together with a thrilling experience, courage & unconditional love towards our motherland, India!

The book is of courage, bravery, intelligence, valor, patience & patriotism of Indian soldiers & intelligence agencies who are always ready to fight with enemies. The characters created by authors who represent these real life people are felt real & connected with readers throughout the book. I must say that there is a perfect blend of facts & fiction that makes it an unputdownable one.

I'm a diehard fan of history & this one was apt for me. The parallel narration is extraordinarily gripping with lucid language. The chapters’ names are unique & interesting that start with great quotes that awestruck readers at the start of every chapter & make them curious about it. The cover is outstanding, too.

Loved it thoroughly! Highly recommended!

Our army has always been at the forefront in dealing with all kinds of crises. Be it fighting the devils from across the border (though there are more within the nation especially belonging to one particular sect that always plays the victim card, though that's the story for another day) or saving the nation from any natural calamity, it's our soldiers who sacrifice their lives without thinking about their own self or their near and dear ones. On the fateful night of 14 Feb 2019 Pulwama tragedy happened , when a convoy of vehicles carrying Indian security personnel on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway was attacked by a vehicle-borne suicide bomber at Lethapora in the Pulwama district of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. It resulted in the deaths of 40 security personnels proving it to be a dark unforgettable day in our country's history. This book is a well researched attempt to bring into light the very incident which shook the foundation of India.

'Attack on Pulwama' is an amalgam of few fictional events as well which are mentioned so as to add more dramatic twists in the story and to portray the valiant efforts of our courageous army men in the light of danger. It tells the true story of the Balakot airstrikes too and the fictional part is kept mainly for the investigation side that went after the unfortunate blasts.

Through Clinton Joseph of NIA who was entrusted with the responsibility of catching the mastermind of the attacks, the riveting work goes through various turns and making use of the clues meets the foregone conclusion. Also in the aftermath of attack which leads to the capture of Indian Wing Commander and how he is able to survive through his wit is also well documented.

The narration is done pretty well and the language employed is quite simple that it can be easily understood. The characters are nicely chosen and though the book does contain fair amount of fiction but it doesn't sway away from giving in the reality check.

All in all, a compelling and interesting read with a patriotic flair.

A good blend of facts and fiction

The Pulwama attack is fresh in every one's minds as are each and every act of terrorism. That was the day when our warriors lost their lives for the sake of our country. This book has been written with this incident in mind and as result of an amalgamation of fact and fiction, an engrossing tale has been created. Two stories run parallelly. Wing commander Anand is taken down by antiaircraft gun, thus landing on enemy territory. This leds to his capture and the start of a torture session. The readers are worried about what is going to happen next. Then as you turn to the next chapter, prepare to be horrified, as Clinton Joseph from the NIA surveys the damage at the blast site. Despite having seen extensive bloodshed during his carreer, he is hard-pressed to remember a time that was similar to the carnage that lay in front of him now. The soldiers were just deployed. They were leaving their homes for the last time. And now they lay unrecognisable even as humans. Clinton is assigned the task of capturing the masterminds of this horrific attack. And he vows to do so. With his gathered information at hand, the IAF launches an airstrike, leading to more troubling events, but time starts running out.
The tale was as engaging as you can imagine. Reading the book brought to mind all the terrorist attacks that has happened in our country over the years. The authors have moulded a story with fictional characters and have tried to stay true to the overall facts as much as possible. Which is why, in my mind, I was thinking this whole investigation must have taken place as it has been depicted in the book. There was no unnecessary drama or details but readers will surely experience a whirlwind of emotions as they read the story. The narrative could have been better with more efficient use of paragraphs and line breaks. But I am sure they can be ignored as you get engrossed in the story. I heartily recommend the book to all readers.

✈ 14/2 THE ATTACK ON PULWAMA
✒ VIKAS TRIVEDI
✒ SMITA AGARWAL

"A nation's integrity rests upon the integrity of states. One weak link can corrode it all."

✈✈✈
Bringing the fictional retelling of India's recent past, which is too courageous and at another aspect, a point of loss for us, the Pulwama attack; have a lot of incidents and events to understand and to think about; how much planning came about & what it takes to a nation to manage between his integrity and international relations.
Starting with the unexpected capture of Anand Varthaman, the story takes shape between the military, air force, government and agencies. Conspiracies are all around, but it's necessary to keep the eagle's eye and it can be done only with cooperative planning and secrecy.
One of the central character Clinton Joseph puts his efforts to connect the dots and planned such ways to unfold conspiracies which foes are planning. Applying various officers and activating agencies government also struggling to ensure that we aren't that country that forgets the recent past.

✈✈✈ Book recreates the Balakot airstrike, Pulwama planning and the well-known attack on the military in the j&k region which results in hazardous to many lives.
A well-crafted plot with expressive writing and narration, the story keeps the reader on the edge of their chair and holds the military background equally with the courageous elements.
The interesting thing about this book is that we can find a thin boundary between the background and the characters. Connection of events and lives are worth appreciable.
Moreover not focusing on the thrilling elements only, it covers the life of a soldier, an officer who fights for the nation and also with himself.
Well, this is the story for every person who wants to read a military(war) thriller as well as for those who love the series about courage and true national spirit.

As the title says, “14/2 The attack on Pulwama”, had my heart. India has not yet recovered from the attack. We lost more than 40 jawans in a span of just 5 days. The trauma, the rage and the ignominy can never be expressed. Though this book is a fiction based on Pulwama attack on 14th Feb 2019 followed by air strike on 26th Feb 2019, it unhinged my heart. The author has altered the original names to some fictional characters for example, Abhinandan Varthaman as Anand Varthaman and so in. There are two stories narrated and are parallel to each other.

Wing Command Anand Varthaman, an Indian pilot who was chasing a Pakistani aircraft happened to fall beyond LoC in some village in Pakistan. Anand was deprived of sleep, choked, was made to stand for long hours, subjected to loud music and was beaten by his captors in Pakistan. Clinton Joseph, the Lead Investigation Officer of the National Investigation Agency was an unbiased man who looked up to for justice and mastered his emotions. He solved cases deemed impossible and was investigator of terror and minds behind them. They were the life saviour of our country. Unrolled a number of investigations. The Balkot Air Strike by the IAF and Indian government could have such interesting story, though fictional, was beyond my thought.

The plot of the volume is similar to that of the real incident and kept me captivated and engrossed throughout. The narration is perfect. I personally would never get over Pulwama attack. The volume builds within a feeling of patriotism and is unequivocally emotional. The political and diplomatic relations are well explained with facts and information with a touch of fiction. The incident drew worldwide attention and condolences and created greater tension. To grasp the knowledge about Pulwama attack, one must not miss out on this.

May the souls of martyrs rest in peace. My condolences. Jai Hind 🇮🇳

‘They were returning for deployment. From their homes. Did they know it was their last time on Earth? That it was their last time they ever saw their loved ones?’

The coffins wrapped in tricolor that reached the homes of the people travelling in a peaceful convoy to attend to their duties, brought in a furore, in the heart of the people of India and an unprecedented stir in diplomatic relations. The Pulwama attacks left every citizen aghast at its atrocities and made them ponder about their safety in broad daylight, especially near the borders. When Clinton Joseph is entrusted with the investigation proceedings post the attacks, he along with digital expert Leena cracks the code to a secret so terrible, that it ensures further damage to the Nation if not stopped immediately. In the midst of it all, disaster befalls when an Indian aviator crashes beyond enemy lines and is taken prisoner.

Zig-Zagging through a maze of Nationalism, diplomacy, and patriotism, 14/2 The Attack on Pulwama is a story based on true incidents. It stuns the readers with the complexities of the levels on which National security operates, the international dialogues between two countries, the strong will of the security force- Army, Navy and Airforce personnel’s and the intelligentsia of classified investigations. Trivedi and Agarwal have also reminded regular citizens to be thankful to the security forces, for it is because of the risks faced by them and their family, thousands of citizens can sleep peacefully at nights.

14/2 The Attack on Pulwama is a thrilling read which would keep any reader glued to its pages for the want to know the progress of the story. Definitely recommend it and more as a tribute to those brave hearts who dedicate their entire life to the cause of keeping our Nation and us safe.

🔫BOOK REVIEW🔫

⛓️This is a gripping story by "Vikas Trivedi" and "Smita Agarwal" that enlightens us regarding the factual incident of the Balakot Airstrikes offering a novelized account of the scrutiny into the Pulwama Blasts.

⛓️It is hardly impossible for we Indians to forget the devastating attack that took place in the city of Pulwama on 14th November 2019. Every Indian's heart skipped a beat when they acknowledged about the hereabouts of deadly blasts. That very day will be remembered by all so I'd like to mention this book as an historical fiction rather than calling it a pragmatic fiction.

⛓️The book is jotted down in such a bewitching manner that the one reading it can comfortably visualize each and every incident that has been put up in it.

⛓️I personally loved both the writing style and the cover as they are quite impressive and eye-catching.

⛓️Overall its a very short read of 135 pages which after reading will leave a huge impact on you.
(For me it was definitely worth the hype, and to a very suprising extent, it will be hard to forget.)

⛓️And before summing up I'd strongly recommend this book to all the patriotic Indians as I'm pretty sure it will not dissapoint you in any way.

Thank you, for stopping by and reading it😇

Sunday, February 14 2019 marks the occurrance of the gruesome Pulwama terror attack that killed 40 CRPF jawans when A group of vehicles carrying security personnel on the Jammu Srinagar National Highway was attacked by a suicide bomber at Lethpora in the Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir

Giving a brave reply to this hideous activity In 2019 Balakot airstrike was conducted by India in the early morning hours of 26 February.
Taking in account this two incidents this book provide us with the fictionalized presentation of this historical events.

14/2 THE ATTACK OF PULWAMA by, Vikas Trivedi and Smita Agarwal, meticulously binds facts with the aura of fiction and gives us an precise and crispy account of these two incidents with 135 pages.
Clinton Joseph of NIA is assigned a secret mission of catching the mastermind behind the Pulwama attack and bring the perpetrators into the light of justice.

On the other side of the horizon Indian Wg,cdr Anand Varthaman VrC is who during the standoff, was held captive in Pakistan for 60 hours after his aircraft was shot down in an aerial dogfight.

Due to the sensitivity of the plot the name were changed but the facts were true. One of the main reason that makes this book a must read is the well depth research done by the authors and the details of the incidents provided. Reading about the account of the miseries faced by the warriors are never easy it wrenched my heart but the sheer curiosity of knowing them made me skip my sleep and finish the book within one sitting.
Ambience of courage, bravery, intelligence, valour and sheer patriotism of our soldiers will definitely gonna swell up your eyes
The intriguing writing style along with the plot with easy narration makes this book a perfect page turner.

The name Pulwama brings back horrific memories to every Indian, the terror attack that happened on the CRPF personnel convoy on 14th Feb 2019. This was followed by the Balakot airstrike on 26th Feb as a retaliation by the Indian Air Force(IAF) targeting the terrorist camps in Pakistan along the border. The next day saw the shooting down of the IAF flight, its pilot held briefly captive to be returned to home country after 2 days. These events that happened within the span of few weeks are well documented in the public domain.

14/2 The Attack on Pulwama attempts to unravel the story behind these events, what led to them, who were the masterminds, documenting the minute details involved, albeit in a smart way by mixing fact with fiction. While the events described in the book are all drawn from the above-mentioned real-life events, the names are changed to maintain the fiction flavor.

The story runs in two parallel threads — what happened to the pilot Anand who was caught behind the enemy border and what will Clinton Joseph, NIA officer investigating the Pulwama attack find about the reasons and personnel behind this gruesome attack. The narration keeps alternating between these two storylines and keeps the reader on the edge. The mood of the book if set by the backdrop chosen and the pace is maintained well by the authors till the end.

At less than 150 pages, it makes for a quick read. This book makes for a good read for fans of thriller and action stories and to those who like to read about contemporary events.

🪖 We are all aware of a country's true heroes. They fight for their country, their motherland at the cost of their own lives, preferring the soil where they wereborn over their own families and lives. But have we ever realised what they go through to protect us?

Spoiler free review of book '14/2 The attack on Pulwama' by authors 'Vikas Trivedi and Smita Agarwal'

Description-

Following the deadly Pulwama attack, Clinton Joseph of the NIA is assigned a secret job of catching the Joseph’s investigation leads him to various clues, one of which points to a prisoner terrorist Al-Khaled, in India.

Through the traps of betrayal, hatred and death, Clinton is determined to bring the perpetrators of the Pulwama attack into the light of justice. Owing to his findings, the Indian Air Force launches an airstrike across the border. The strike leads to the capture of Indian Wg. Cdr Anand behind the enemy lines. As his life hangs by a thread, it is his wit that will help him survive the ordeal.

The two stories meld together, taking the patriots through the maze that has vowed to kill every last one of them - and the time's running out.

My review-
The story is based on aftermath of the dreadful Pulwama attack.
The plot revolves around two interesting stories that are narrated parallel to each other.

The book is a combination of both facts and fiction. The facts about the attack and the fiction of aftermath of the attack.
It talks about the masterminds behind the attack, their motive, their plans and it's execution.

The story moves at a very good pace and keeps the reader engaged to end.
It is a combination of mystery, suspense and thrill.
The language used is also simple and easy to understand.

My Rating - 4.5/5 ⭐
Authors - Vikas Trivedi and
                  Smita Agarwal

Final Say -
The book ignites the feeling of patriotism is one and is an interesting thriller.

Book : 14/2 The attack on Pulwama
Version : Paperback
Authors : Smita Agarwal , Vikas Trivedi

When the entire world was busy celebrating the Valentine’s day, India suffered the worst of hatred on 14th February 2019. The visuals, pain , anger , suffering is unbearable. India could never forget and forgive for the culprits.
Title: The title of course brings the chill in our spine as that is the date not to be forgotten.
Cover page: The cover page wakes up the patriot in us , we do know a thriller is in store for us.
The book is about the incidents, facts which has the room for creating some fictional characters. The book has the string of stories that including the attacks , retaliation by Indian government through air strikes, incident of wing commander Abhinandhan Varthaman being found in Pak, the effects and the impact of imposing Article 370. The stories are well connected as they run parallel to each other.
We all do know the facts and stories, whereas the book tries to give the readers a few insights in the minds of the characters. Clinton Joseph is assigned the job of connecting the dots of this gruesome attack. We feel as if the scenes are enacted in front of us. The characterization of Clinton Joseph and the use of his intellect is excellent.
The narration and writing style is quick and holds the readers. Though we are aware of the story it makes the readers think what next is in store.
I take my time to appreciate the writing style as the incident are described as if we are in the scene.
Do read this book, it makes us beam with pride and breaks the heart for the ultimate sacrifice of our Jawans.

Book :- 14/2 The Attack On Pulwama

Author :- Vikash Trivedi and Smita Agarwal

" Evil is born of the darkness , good is born of the light . The former is always conceived when the latter is absent "

The book is written by Vikash Trivedi and Smita Agarwal. The book loosely follows the events around terrorist attack on CRPF convoy at pulwama. The author has used simple and clear language in this book. The ground realities of the attack is shown in this book. The book follows the events from the Pulwama attack to the Balakot Air Strike, the arrest of Anand Sir, to Article 370. The author has presented all these matters very simply and clearly. On 14 February 2019, there was an attack on Pulwama in our country. Which shook the whole nation. When soldiers of our country martyred protecting our motherland. Even today, tears fill our eyes when we remember that horrific attack on our sovereignty.

This book has a total of 18 chapters. As you read this book, you will feel as if you are present on the spot. This book has a total of 135 pages which does not disappoint you. Patriotism is beautifully presented in this book. The cover page of this book is also very beautiful. The attack in Pulwama killed 40 soldiers from our country. The two stories run parallel in this book. One is Mr. Joseph Clinton and the other is Anand Varthaman. Some of the characters in this story are fictional representing the event. This book is a mix of facts and fiction relating to the Pulwama attack. The events on the black day are the fact part and the investigation is the fiction part and both have been well written.
Though we have all heard about the Pulwama attack, there are details here in this book that brings out the events that led to this attack, the brains behind this heinous act and how it all happened. I was able to relate to the emotional turmoil and experiences. So this book is both informative as well as a thriller!
The characters are well formed and not too many that we may get confused with. That was a relief!
The language is simple and easy to follow. The parallel story line switches back and forth and then we find that it comes together in between. This does make the book interesting!
It is a short read and can be finished in one sitting. Though it is small, it gets heavy on emotions and brings out a whole lot of love and patriotism towards our motherland.
The cover is simple and apt for the storyline.
This book is fit for all age groups and it will definitely invoke a sense of patriotism and nationalism. The description of the fights and after effects did touch me emotionally. Do pick up this book as it will give you an insight at what is happening / happened in our borders with the solders ready to give up their life to keep our nation safe. Kudos to the authors for bringing out such a wonderful book.

The 14/2 Pulwama Attack was a cowardly attack by Pakistan on the unarmed Indian Army, in which 19 soldiers were martyred. First of all, I salute to those martyrs who laid down their lives for their mother India.

But this time Pakistan was not aware that India will not let the sacrifice of its martyrs go in vain and will avenge them. India in turn carried out a surgical strike by entering Pakistan and targeting their terrorist bases.

Story:-
There are two main characters in the novel, one is Clinton Joseph, who is the lead investigation officer of the National Investigation Agency and the other is Wing Commander Anand of Indian Air Force. Clinton Joseph along with his team tries to find out the reasons behind the Pulwama attack, while Wing Commander Anand is trying to bring himself back safely from the enemy country without revealing any secret of his country. While chasing a Pakistani F16 fighter plane during the Balakot Air Strike, Anand has to be ejected on Pakistani soil and his next mission remains as his return to his homeland.

Through this book you will be able to know how difficult the life of a defense personnel is and what they do for us so that we can all sleep peacefully in our homes.

The effort of both the authors is greatly appreciated in writing this book. Proper research is seen in writing and the most important thing is that both have shown the courage to call a spade a spade. So congratulations to both the authors.
Jai Hind.

14/2: The Attack on Pulwama by Smita Agarwal and Vikas Trivedi
Book- 14/2 : The Attack on Pulwama
Author- Smita Agarwal and Vikas Trivedi

Tribute to all the great martyrs of 14/2 Pulwama Attack, who gave away their lives in saving mother nation.

14/2: The Attack on Pulwama by Smita Agarwal and Vikas Trivedi relates to horrific terrorist attack on V-Day on Indian army at Pulwama. The book holistically lays down the situation of attack through the storyline. The book is developed after comprehensive research and interaction with various people. Divided into 18 chapters, the book is just heart touching. Narration style is mature.

The book is written in an easy language. Story emulates the sequence of incidents that had happened in the entire episode. How the conflict at LOC arise, how brave Indian army ensured safety of mother nation, how the things developed after LOC conflict, how things gone worse due to lack of sensitivity and wisdom, and how all these caused severe impact on geography of Pulwama and J & K as a whole; all these things are very well narrated.

The work carried out by both the authors is highly appreciable. These things help public to understand aftermath of Pulwama attack. Dedicated to the real heroes of the nation, this book is worth reading. I recommend reading this book to all.
