I enjoyed “Odd and Chilling Encounters—Part Two” much more than the first book. This installment, far surpassing the first, is filled with accounts of strange and unexplainable occurrences that are far more steeped in credibility and yes, more chilling as well. This time, author, R.S. Russo focuses less on allowing the reader to judge just any old tale told by anyone with the ability to tell it. Each account has some basis the reader can relate to, making the book perfect for nighttime reading.

The chapters are divided by category, and the first is called “Imaginary Friends.” While it may appear simple at first glance, the chapter is spooky and revealing, shedding possible light on the largely ignored childhood phenomena. Other chapters include: “Ghosts,” “Haunted Workplaces,” “Haunted Objects,” and “Mimics.” “Shadow People and the Hat Man,” as well as “Premonitions” are sure to be favorites, describing phenomena that hold much fascination and relevance.

Both “Premonitions” and “Past Lives” are chapters that are sure to freak the reader out, providing unforgettable accounts that will remain in the mind even after finishing the book. “Near Death Experiences” is another, detailing much more information about such experiences than originally assumed.

Chapters such as “Angels” and “Demons and Ouija Boards” are great for those who hold such interests, but “Black Eyed Kids” and “Aliens and UFO’s” are not to be missed. One chapter deals with the rarely heard of phenomena known as “Stairs in the Woods” and gives accounts both chilling and mystifying. “Stories at Sea” deals not only with sightings of ghost ships but mermaids as well. It is a uniquely crafted chapter sure to please. “Skinwalkers, Crawlers, Dogmen, and Similar Beings” could not go overlooked, and in this installment, they do not. “Monsters,” “Yeti and Bigfoot,” round out the rest of the book, leading to the second to the last, eerie chapter called, “Fairies.” In it, Russo compiles enough accounts to prove that the traditional fairy stories we’ve all heard since childhood could be misleading. This fascinating chapter makes the reader think, allowing the mind go somewhere unthinkable.

The last chapter is called, “Other Strange Things.” It is a compilation of stories that may not have fit into any specific category, but are nonetheless odd and chilling. R.S. Russo has given us a second book well worth reading, one that will not be forgotten too soon.

Whenever you have a collection of stories you know you will be getting something interesting but, at the same time, something that you can't actually ask questions about and something that may, or may not, be true.

This book has material on imaginary friends of young kids, poltergeists, haunted houses, haunted workplaces, haunted objects, mimics, shadow people, near death experiences, angels, demons, ouija boards and a variety of other things.

Ouija boards are to be avoided totally.

It's an interesting book but something that depends on belief and not scientific examination.

Sometimes a book of short stories is just what I need.

As I read this collection of short stories I started thinking back to odd occurrences I have experienced during my many years on this earth. Nothing has ever happened that I would consider frightening but there have been a bunch of odd or unexplained happenings. After reading this collection I realize that maybe I 'm not crazy after all. Thanks

Pretty good

I love me some strange but true stories, but up until reading this book, it's been mostly same stories over and over. This book was much more diverse and dealt with some things I had never heard of. That was refreshing.

I really enjoyed this book. A lot of paranormal books are very short and have similar stories. This book had a variety of paranormal happening from all over the world.
