Kudos to the author for picking a h and H who are not typical of the Harlequin genre. Thrice married, with a combination of divorces and widowhood the h is not your typical virgin or an un-humanly saint that is typical. She made mistakes and more importantly accepted her faults and tried to redeem herself. The H is on a crusade to ruin h. He is the dreaded paparazzi but the ending is charity. He is the one who seeks forgiveness and learns from h on how to forgive himself and move forward.

4 1/2 Stars! ~ Audra Conlan has made a real mess of her life. She hadn’t meant to; she’d just been meeting everyone’s expectations that she’d amount to not much. She ran to Hollywood as soon as she was old enough, hoping to be an actress and went through two disastrous marriages, a tragic relationship, and sought safety in a third marriage to a man old enough to be her father. The tabloids loved her as the wild child party girl. But Audra doesn’t want to keep spiraling out of control; she wants her life back. And when she’s attacked, she realizes the only place for her to go is home to Trillium Island. Seth Ridley has pursued Audra with his camera for over two years now; he’s looking for payback for a tragedy he believes Audra is to blame for. So when she runs home, Seth follows pretending to be someone else to get close to her. Only the Audra he’s coming to know is nothing at all like the selfish pampered Audra his camera had caught time and time again.

This is a story of forgiveness and redemption. Both Audra and Seth live with tremendous guilt and desperately need to find the peace that only forgiveness can bring. As Audra bravely reaches out to her family and begins to heal the past, Seth watches and reevaluates his own choices and past beliefs. This is a compelling must read. One for the keeper shelf
