Are you considering Homeschooling? "Eww... You Homeschool? Help for Successful Homeschooling" will provide basic and helpful information to start you on your journey. There are so many questions when beginning the process of home education. This book is a step by step guide to answer your questions and to ensure success.
In Eww...You Homeschool?, Steffanie Williams discusses why she decided to homeschool, the beauty of time with your kids, ways to avoid too much busyness and achieve a balanced life, and so much more.
She explains that all children are not created the same, so they do not have the same interests or learn the same way. She gave a great example of the differences among all three of her homeschooled daughters. Because of the amount of time spent together as a homeschool family, parents can discover each child's interests and way they learn, then help them grow with that knowledge.
Williams shares many resources and ideas. She introduces different options, approaches, and methods to help find which method suits the homeschooling family. She shares reasons to homeschool and tools she used to help them succeed. She includes many examples. One of my favorite parts of this book is Chapter 8, the perspective of being homeschooled by the author's youngest child. She discusses her journey as a homeschool student. I enjoyed it because it shows her personality and humor.
I found Eww…You Homeschool? To be extremely educational. It is faith-based and encouraging. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is on the fence about homeschooling. It will give you plenty to think about and great places to start researching.
This book has many great takeaways. Here are two quotes that really stuck: P67 “Be aware and involved in who and what influences them. Make sure you are the biggest influencer in their lives, influencing them to know God.” P79 “As a result, I am no longer a slave to hurry.”
Very informative. Enjoyed reading her story on why she chose to homeshcool and her experience. Lots of biblical references - Christian based advice on homeschooling.
Towards the middle of the book I ended up skimming through and choosing what I was really interested in reading.
Really motivational!
Also, the title comes from an elderly lady in a retired home that asked her daughter what school she went to. When she said she homeschooled the elderly lady said, eweww. I cannot 😂
