I loved the very real-life learning taking place, all about weather, temperature, and states of matter (freezing, melting!). This one would make a great accompaniment to an early learning science class (K-Gr. 1) to give a jumping off point to discussions & experiments.

Overall, this series is so great! They are the sweetest little nature mystery books, with the most detailed & amazing art! They are perfect for curious kids who love learning about nature & science. There’s even extra facts & a craft activity at the end of each book.

I love all the Gumboot Kids Nature Mysteries. I think what I like the most is all the whimsical photos of Scout and Daisy in their miniature felt and fabric forms. Also I like that these books encourage children to discover the outdoors. In this book we take a close look at the winter season, snow, temperatures, frozen and liquid forms.
