also wrote under the pseudonym Marcia MacDonald also published under the name Grace Livingston Hill Lutz
A popular author of her day, she wrote over 100 novels and numerous short stories of religious and Christian fiction. Her characters were most often young female ingénues, frequently strong Christian women or those who become so within the confines of the story.
Three books in this volume. The first, Exit Betty, was a reread, but the others—Beloved Stranger and Maris—we’re new to me. Four stars for each one. Of the three, I would say Beloved Stranger is better written because the villain had a little more shading and wasn’t 100% super-bad. Hill didn’t write very deep characters, but overall these interrupted-wedding stories are light and pleasant.
