This was such a sweet love story!
This was the first book I have read by this author but it won't be the last! This was a true love story not a romance but a LOVE story! The characters are so real you feel like you know them you can't help but cheer for them to have a happy ending! I laughed, cried, screamed, and smiled while reading this. I can't wait to read more from this author.

A true love story
I always wait for a J. J. Murray book because it is worth the wait. This was no exception; this is probably the best of them all. This was truly a love story. And a romance in the midst of COVID.
I don't know why I started this book at 10 pm on a weeknight; I knew I wasn't going to be able to put it down. Great characters, great story. Great dialogue. I highlighted quite a bit.
Mr. Murray said it was partly autobiographical I believe in the forward; I hope that didn't happen to him but the love he found was spectacular. And the family has quite the characters! You can feel the love in this book.
I'll be rooting for you Mr. Murray. I hope the wedding is as special as you write it.

Loved this book!
I love finding a new author that is awesome! I loved this book so much that I couldn't put it down until I was done. I'm actually sad that it's over. It was very well written and there weren't any parts that made me want to skim. The part at the end was a wonderful, unexpected surprise that made the story even better.

Lovely story
I’m really glad that J J Murray found love again - beautiful story. There were a few parts that dragged but overall I enjoyed this story about two seemingly ordinary people with their own personal challenges finding extraordinary love. It is even more meaningful since it is based on his true love story during a truly trying time for the world.

4.5⭐️ Before I write my review, I want to read this book a second time. It’s an extraordinary story, and I want to write a review that conveys how special I think it is.

Well... a tad boring and too long and just too lagging!
I was so excited to get this book even though the reviews weren’t too inviting, but now I understand why there could have been that type of criticism.
The story started out perfect. Perfectly written, perfectly perfected all of the issues and perfectly felt every single emotion that the main character felt, but sometimes in the middle, everything lost it’s touched, everything lost its thrill and everything lost its appeal.
At the beginning of the book MR. Murray explained why he write those stories and why he doesn’t go a certai route; it’s all fine and dandy, but I believe this story didn’t need to go the route that it went to.
The story besides focusing on the pain the main character felt being left after 26 years of commitment/vows, also focused on the current issues in real life. Now I have no problem to read in Ny time frame but this book took it too far. I mean did we absolutely need to relieve COVID specially that not any moment did any of these characters had a death due to COVID or complications/quarantined etc...due to COVID? Now I must admit it was where the story, the author lost me as a reader. I couldn’t continue without skipping some parts because I needed this too be over.
The other issue that I have was the fact that the romance, the feelings, the sex seemed to be forced because come on I know of good:great relationships and after compromising is when everything work and the one compromising is usually the one that is the underdog, undeserving, unappreciated, hence: Luke Hamilton. Maya was ten times better than Kiara, but also more gullible, more annoying, more childish and more demanding/spoiled.
Now I LOVE the genre BWWM any day and over any other book but this one was seriously lacking. The adventure, the getting to know each other, the wanting this, whatever what this is, the contrast, the change, the acceptance, the “so in love that I do not see any color” mind frame as well as the epiphany that I just live you didn’t happen with Maya. It surely happened with Kiara but not with Maya and that’s one of the reason that it was so very lame and all!
That said, I am still going to read MR. Murray other books to see if I can click with him 😀

A compelling love story. 5+ Stars.
When Kiara asked Luke for a divorce and explained her true feelings, my heart shattered for him. And every time he described his feelings of betrayal, depression, and hopelessness, my heart broke a little more for him.
Thank goodness for all the Mayas out there in the world who is able to love someone completely and genuinely; breathing life back into a broken and lifeless man or woman.
I highly recommend this book and author. J.J. Murray truly outdid himself.

Amazing Love
This book has me in tears so many times. This amazing love story holds so many truths. I loved how he incorporated actual things going on in life right now. Maya's life struggle is realistic. There is life after divorce if you are open & don't block your own blessing. The love, friendship, respect & hot sexual chemistry was a joy to read. This book is a must read. Also Congratulations on the authors real life wedding. 🎉💍💐👰🏽🤵🏻

One of Mr. Murray's best books
I've read several of J.J. Murray's books over the years. This one I enjoyed the best. Well developed characters and the book is real. Normal people with normal struggles. Luke and Maya loved the chemistry. The Ex has serious issues. The more I read, the less I liked her and was wishing for the law of reciprocity to kick her in her behind. Great Read. Please keep them coming. Marvin & Maya's sperm donor there is another story to explore.

Awesome book!
I absolutely loved this story! I loved the journey that the author took you on. I loved the chemistry between Luke and Maya it was beautiful! I did not like Kiara because you just don't treat people the way she did. This story covered several topics and I really enjoyed reading about them. I highly recommend this book to my fellow romance readers you will not be disappointed.

The Pure Goodness of Genuine Love!
Oh My Goodness! I thought I loved Church Woman series, but this novel had me in such an emotional whirlwind. I felt love on every level with. Luke and Maya. They had a rock solid kind of love. Every paragraph, every character, every conversation within this book symbolize the purest form of genuine love. J.J Murray is truly at the top with the best authors.

The Sound of My Soul!
I Love your stories! At My age, your stories fit! This is the third book I have read of yours in the last two weeks! I bought more but looking for more! The first few pages of a book, sells me! And this author does it for me! Luke and Mya story was it for me! I felt good putting it down because I knew it was going to be good when I picked it up again! Hot also!

I loved Luke and Maya's love story! Even though he was a good man and a good husband, Luke was not appreciated by his first wife! I felt sorry for her that she could only see the color of a person's skin and was happy that Luke found a woman that put him first! What a great story, Mr. Murray and I look forward to your next release!

Outstanding!!
This story is filled with so much emotion I couldn't stop reading. I gravitate towards interracial romance since I am a biracial woman (White mom/Black dad) and this book was so inspiring and uplifting. I could relate to so much of the story and events. J.J. Murray's writing style just pulls you in and warms your soul. I highly recommend this book!

Very Intimate
At times, I felt as if I were intruding on the author's personal life. I'm so glad he's written this novel about true love. I enjoyed it immensely.
Truthfully, I never ever like his first wife. When I read "René & Jay," I thought to myself, "what an awful woman.' I look forward to reading stories about the twins! Congrats you two!💏

Love found
Maya and Luke's love story is a reminder that relationships require commitment and the desire to be in the relationship. Luke and Maya's story allows the reader to witness what meeting the appropriate partner can do to elevate a persons journey.

Very Sweet
Gosh, I don’t think I will do this review much justice because my heart is full. Because it was created from a real space, I grieved for how ‘un loved’ Luke was before Maya. The way he loved her is straight out of a fairytale. So happy they found their happy ending .

Wonderful! Must read!
I really loved this book. The character development was awesome and I loved that he did not spend a lot of time in the past. He provide just enough information about the ex-wife to make you hate her. Loved this book.
