Everything All At Once is a collection of poetry and poetic thought and is as raw and real as it gets. We all want to break from this plastic society just to feel free in any way we can. Every day we're told how to feel, think, look and love, according to what's in fashion or what's trending. Don't let yourself fall into the new age traps of life. Expand your perspective and find another part of yourself. Don't put yourself in a box. Be comfortable outside of the crowd. This poetry collection will give you Home, Self, Love & more. I want to give you something to think about and something to relate to, without the biased voices and without any pretense. I want you to feel Everything All At Once.
Love the title, colors, & cover of this book! (I’m a sucker for teal... Plus, it fits perfectly with the book.)
The word that came to mind while reading this book is: Reality. Marc does an excellent job of combining our thought-provoking reality with poetry & poetic elements.
This book is real & encompasses so many different aspects of life, especially the smaller &/or larger things we may overlook. I particularly like that questioning nature he maintains throughout the book. Even as a reviewer, I generally ease into the flow of the book I’m reading BUT while I did ease into this one, it also had me thinking about how I perceive the things in his poems (& whether or not I agree with them).
With Marc’s style, he’s got a sort of friendly formal tone that I personally love, & he mixes it with some interesting imagery.
I love the idea in “pocket fluff” by comparing a person to those stray things I like to play with in my pockets. (Am I weird for liking to find lint/‘fluff’ in my pockets? Lol)
I also really LOVE “rebel?”, “no smokers allowed”, & “only sometimes”!
Overall, I enjoyed this book! It’s a bit of a simple-yet-complex read that has layers but also leaves you feeling like you’ve read a book about daises or something pleasant... Of course, I’m an analytical person so that could just be my personal experience!
Marc D Brown’s ‘a little 22’ presents a compelling exploration of darkness through his unique poetic style. Brown’s masterful use of metaphors and language crafts a raw and enigmatic atmosphere, delving into the shadows of the human experience. While some poems may not directly address themes of depression, they all share a common thread of darkness that captivates the reader. Brown’s distinctive raw style shines throughout the collection, making ‘a little 22’ a must-read for anyone drawn to the darker realms of poetry.
Everything all at once really encompasses the contents in this collection. I will recommend this collection to anyone who wants to read on things that focuses on the self, real life topics and issues in society and the world around us.
