The classic work on repentance and religious conduct. For anyone seeking the true path to repentance and reconnection with G-d, this incisive guide is essential. With vowelized Hebrew and English translation. Pocket edition
Rabbi Yona ben Avraham Gerondi (יוֹנָה בֶּן־אַבְרָהָם גִירוֹנְדִי) also known as Rabbeinu Yona (רבינו יונה) was a Spanish rabbi, cousin of the renowned Nachmanides (Moshe ben Nahman, aka רמב״ן). Rabbi Yona was a prolific scholar, though only a few of his works have been preserved. He wrote novellae on the Talmud, commentary on Mishnah Pirkei Avot, and his name is attributed to a set of Hiddushim on Alfasi (on Berachot). He, however, is known mostly for his ethical works (musar), including Sha'arei Teshuvah, The Gates of Repentence, which is a guide for the traditionally religious/observant Jew to become a better person through teshuvah (repentence), which means taking a look at one's behavior and how it deviates from what the Torah prescribes, acknowledging one's failures/deviation from the Torah, and moving past these failures by changing one's habits/behaviors. Sha'arei Teshuvah provides an introspective way of examining oneself with the opportunity to improve one's character. The Feldheim edition is laid out with the Hebrew text on the right page and the English translation on the left page.
