James has aspirations, and they do not include taking over his father's carpentry business. But he may have to - his older brother Jesus insists that He is the Son of God. Which is more to be the Son of God, or the brother of the Son of God?
I liked seeing things from James' perspective, but the author appeared to take a lot of liberties with the story. I almost decided not to finish it, but I had time on my hands and nothing else to read, so I went back to it. It prodded along slowly, but I would say it was not an exciting story. It was okay.
It seems the author randomly chose a few facts and wove a tale of fiction around them. I'll stick to the Bible for facts and look for fiction elsewhere.
Great book that seemed to have accuracy about the Jews and Gentiles at the time of the resurrection and the years that followed the Messiahs ascension.
