I listened to this, after reading (my great grandmother's?) copy of 'Where The Bright Waters Meet'. My memory of it has slightly blended with that book, but they were both a delight and made the events of the last century feel like they might have happened last year.
A Summer on the Test felt much more relatable due to the author's constant admissions of complete incompetence on the water!

I really thought I'd like this one more--More technique than, cheerio, pip, pip and all that.
