First of all, much congrats on author's 2nd incarnation. First she was a lawyer coming out of Princeton. Then she was an award-winning songwriter. Most recently she became a top tier multi-marketing mogul. Transforming oneself is never an easy task, even more so when someone has got a debilitating disease such as Hashimoto disease like the author. Idea of MLM is put forth through many personal stories, putting what her company called Blueprint into work. She's made sure readers know that she's working for Arbonne. Purpose of the book is to promote MLM but obviously one of the other purpose of this book is also to make new recruits out of readers who've probably never heard of MLM. Personally I came across Arbonne in 2018 when a close friend got me the starter pack for free. I didn't fall for it due to unpleasant past experience with MLM. There are many successful MLM companies in Taiwan, Arbonne unfortunately bailed out of Taiwan after a short unsuccessful stint. Upon finishing the book, I have to say I am still not convinced. All the Ivy League tips are good for personal growth and that's my take away and why I give the book a 4 star. Lots of direct marketing products are good products but the main drawback is when buying from a MLM channel one give away personal choice. As a consumer, one would like to make his or her own decision on what to buy. Buying into MLM means one will have to buy the same thing repeatedly. Another terrible trait of the trade is there will always be people putting MLM into wrong use, making newbies forcing friends and relatives into buying things for the sake of meeting monthly target sales.
Deep dive into the world of network marketing. The book title is mostly a click bait, but the depth of detail across aspects of network marketing can be well understood in this book. Even if you don’t want to learn the domain it’s good to use this book which can help understand how to navigate away from network marketeers! What I like is that the author focuses on the domain and doesn’t talk about pushing her own business (which many authors do. ) I give her credit for that !
