“You went and fell in love with an ultralight? That’s like a spider falling in love with a butterfly. They’re both arthropods, but the entire universe knows they don’t belong together.”

I needed an out. I needed to be someone who wasn’t trapped in Las Vegas. I went to that club looking for nothing and everything, and there he was. Jaxon’s hands on my hips were just what I w

'Soy tuyo, Serena, dice Jaxon.
Su voz es tan áspera, y suena con el tono sónico de un ultralight. 'Tiene que ser suficiente'.

When Keary said that she was starting a new series with shifters in a supernatural world, I was quite intrigued. Hell, I was all-in before she even told us what it was about.

A Shadow in the Light is the first book in Keary's newest series. If you have ever had the pleasure of reading any of Keary's work, you know that she is brilliant at world building and her books are very character-driven. If you have not read any of her books, you are in for an amazing story!!

I am struggling to say anything

I was waiting forever for Keary to come out with another book. When she finally revealed she was writing a new series I just couldn't wait any longer!

If you've ever read any books from Keary Taylor, you won't be disappointed at her style of writing. I'd like to say that her books are heavily character-driven, so much that you can't help but fall for the main characters. As with A Shadow in the Light, you will immediately be drawn into the main character's world. As with Keary's stories, I always

An interesting concept but I’m not invested in the characters or plot enough for me to continue the series.

3,5 stars. I really liked it. It's been awhile since i've read anything from this author but i'm glad i now did. The heroine was badass and the whole suspense of the story was great. The whole story was very character driven and well developed and that's definitely my kind of story. I will read the next books. ...more

I've always said nobody builds a world quite as well as Keary Taylor does. Going in to this I wasn't sure what to expect but I know the author and I know I like her work so I knew it'd be good.

Right from the start I was hooked. I love the idea of a parallel universe and the idea of shifters the way this is done is just brilliant. It's not a complete stretch that there would be a hidden base in the desert in Nevada. I also liked the idea of the shifters coming from another universe and getti

I love this series.

This is a different type of love story. It’s a love story of acceptance of who or more accurately what you are and what you can be together with the right person. It’s as if they are 2 half’s of a whole, light and dark.

She and Jaxon could not be any more different in their true forms but somehow that’s what brings them together. Serene is from the dark verse parallel universe and Jaxon is from the light verse parallel universe.

Serene has been stuck in the light verse for 150

I probably should have had more of an idea of what this story was going to entail just from the title, but it didn't prepare me for the sheer brilliance of this story. Serena is a really likable character, you can almost feel what she feels. The heartache of being away from her world, and the fight she has with herself over her emotions for Jaxon. The premise of the story is really interesting, and the characters give you a history of how they came to be where they are without throwing you out o ...more

Just when I think I have found my favorite series by Keary, she starts another series that absolutely draws you in. "A Shadow in The Light" is a totally different concept and totally unique twist on what is considered good vs. bad. I loved that instead of the bad boy, Serenca was given the role of being the "villain" while Jaxon is the one that is pure. When you toss that into the mix of falling in love with your enemy while being in two different worlds while shifting - this story is one that d ...more

What a book. I Absolutely love Serene’s character, she is awesome. Jaxon, I need a Jaxon of my own. What a story Keary has done it again. She gave us one awesome book. I was hooked from start to finish. I couldn’t put it down. This book is just another world, and it’s epic. At first it will have you, well it did me. It had me thinking what is this about. What supernaturals are these. I don’t want to give out any spoilers. So I need to end it here. Just know it’s a really good book, you will not ...more

I am so excited for this series!
We all know and love shifters right?  The alpha wolves, the tall and strong bears.... well meet a new type of shifter.... something out of alot of peoples nightmares...

This new series is exploring something so different  that I actually had to read the paragraph where our female lead shifts a few times... I mean.... lots of legs.... shadows.... what now???

But omg is this brilliant.

The parallel universe theory is one I've been long interested in, and this actu

Reading this first book I was enamoured at the actual writing style and loved the characters straight away I love Serena she seems so strong yet fragile and jaxon just seems to fit into her life straight away
Rabbling on the dance scene in my minds eye was absolutely beautifully written enough to immerse me into the club with them oh I do hope what Im hoping for happens?!
So to end my review what a amazing read I was engrossed and didn't put it down I loved Serena and jaxon and I for one cannot wa

One thing I really like about this author is her ability to come up with a unique plot, and this series started really showcases that ability. In this latest, Serena and Jaxon will eventually (or will they?) on opposing sides, but for now they are drawn together despite many obstacles including Serena’s co-workers/friends. Jaxon is a great character as he is not just a good guy, he has things in his life that aren’t pretty. Like all this author’s books, I was drawn in immediately, and loved the ...more

I'm intrigued enough with the author's goal for this parallel series format that I'll continue on. She's said you don't have to read book 1 to read book 2; every other book's focus is on a different "verse".

One of the best things that Keary Taylor does is build a world, a unique and fascinating world. She did it again with this series. She has announced that this series would be alternating between the two worlds and storylines. I can't wait to see the other "Darkverse" side of it!
I loved the story between Serena and Jaxon. You should give yourself a treat and check out her inspiration board on Pinterest too. LOL! I like that Serena was the "monster" and not some beautiful alien creature like mos
