Writers wax lyrical about Ireland's spectacular scenery, but it is the people that make a visit to this enchanting country so very special. Meander down the streets of Dublin, explore ancient castles and journey around the lovely Dingle Peninsula-everywhere Irish hospitality prevails. It is impossible to visit without experiencing the warmth and hospitality of the Irish; from the grand manors to the country farmhouses, you will be welcomed as a houseguest rather than a tourist. Along the way, itineraries guide you through the Emerald Isle, from Dublin's fair city to the hauntingly beautiful scenery of Connemara. 5 Regional Countryside Itineraries, Descriptions of over 120 Places to Stay.
I liked this little, unusual travel guide to Ireland. Rather than being a comprehensive "everything Ireland" guide, it gives 4 suggested itineraries through the various regions of Ireland. These itineraries skip all the major cities and take you on the byways and out-of-the-way highlights. It's written in a very conversation manner that helped me greatly in figuring out whether what was presented would be what I would want to see. I'm thinking of taking it with me on our trip, because it has very specific driving and stopping directions for each of its tours.
